We stayed at Red Lion Guest House in the beginning of July. The place is very clean and tidy . Very well maintained . It is also very quiet despite the fact that is on the main road. Every room has air con. Furniture is in new condition. They are few restaurants/ pizzeria around and gelato shops as well. People are very friendly. Owners very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Choice of transport. Tram stop is just outside the house. For 1.50 euro return you can get the tram number 1 to Venice . It takes 30-40 minutes. The tram is running until midnight. There is a bus station just 100 meters from the house to get to Marco Polo Airport. Bus number is 45. The cost is 8 euro to the airport. No matter what transport you use . Just bare in mind that Saturday and Sunday the public services are reduced. Great place to stay and great location. Owners are so kind. Lovely breakfast and coffee as well. We have even tried the fruit from their garden. It was lovely. I will definitely recommend this place.

This place is a real gem in Venice. Location Location is very good, walkable distance to anywhere (10 mins to Piazza San Marco/St. Mark’s Square). Lots to eat in the vicinity and lots of interesting art galleries on the street. Room Our place was on the top floor and consisted of two rooms. Both had classical decoration. Our daughter especially loved her room. Our room was also very romantic. Bathroom is modern and brand new. Check-in/Staff Entrance and check-in is automatic, very easy and hassle-free. The hosts are always reachable and answer via phone/Whatsapp immediately in case of questions. Easy communication in English. Price/Performance Ratio Impressive. Everything was better than other hotels in Venice that we paid double the price. Extras Lots to eat and drink. Complimentary coffee, croissants, crackers, water, orange juice etc. Downside The only downside was having to carry the luggage two floors, but I guess that’s common in Venice.

So I really wanted to give this place a better rating, but several factors came together to make our stay here not the best it could have been. First off, it is rather difficult to find and it's a bit of a walk to get to any of the big attractions in Venice from here. When we arrived, the owner was there and she started to help us as we stood there with our luggage, hot from the 20 minute walk to find the place. Then the phone rang and she spend a good ten minutes talking on the phone with someone who wanted help making a booking on ***********. It was very frustrating. We were there first, it was late, we wanted to get to our room and it was very hot in the very small reception area. Then she mixed up our room keys so we had to lug our luggage back and forth a few times. The rooms were nice, beds comfy. No breakfast included unless you paid extra, which I swear wasn't the case when I booked the place. But there was no arguing with her. From what I saw, it was a good thing that we ate somewhere else anyway. My room was rather noisy with some people partying to the wee hours of the morning and cigarette smoke drifting into my room from somewhere. When we went to check out, two other couples were also waiting to check out but the owner was nowhere to be found. Good thing she made us pay up front. I now see why she made us pay up front. I think that if I were to ever stay in Venice again, it would be somewhere else....

I visited Casa Babbuino mid July, my first three impressions where immediately positive: 1. I arrived during the night … it was very easy to get a self check in with super fast and nice communication 2. Like 5 min / 350m away from the hotel is a public parking space for 5,- a day … there was always a lot of spaces available. Next to this in the streets it might be even possible to park for free .. I am not 100% sure of that 3. When I arrived at the hotel (the entrance is not so easy to find, because there is no big name in it .. but is this beautiful green door ..) the lobby was already to tasteful arranged .. the next I noticed was the absolutely gorgeous garden … then I entered my room and it was really big, the furniture was classy and new .. large bathroom… From the hotel to the start of the “old town” it’s like 10-15 min walk .. just one street easy to find. A supermarket is like 200 m away and some restaurants are around the corner. Over all the area is very quiet. With the easy parking options it’s a good starting point to visit locations around Verona .. like lake Garda is a 30 min drive. Thanks for the nice visited and especially the gin tonic at the end. Abbiamo soggiornato in questo Hotel perché abbiamo assistito al concerto di Nick Cave all'Arena di Verona e quindi l'abbiamo trovato comodo per la posizione, che a mio avviso è uno dei suoi pochi aspetti positivi. Inizio col dire che quando siamo arrivati e abbiamo suonato il campanello è arrivato il proprietario seccatissimo dalla nostra presenza. Abbiamo visto la camera, abbastanza accogliente, ma il bagno era un disastro: il water ogni tanto faceva dei rumori strani, la porta della doccia era rotta e il muro sembrava fatto di cartone. Infine la mattina ci aspettavamo la colazione (inclusa nella prenotazione) ma abbiamo scoperto che non sarebbe mai arrivata. Devo dire che per 50 euro a testa si trova di meglio. Non consiglio.

The lodge is in a perfect location. It's a five-minute walk to the Mestre train station where you can hop on a train about every 20 minutes and it takes only about 10 minutes to get to Venice. We saved so much money by not staying within Venice where the hotel prices are ridiculous. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a nice patio and large bathroom (by European standards). My parents had a room on the ground floor that had a beautiful Murano chandelier and antique furniture. They really enjoyed the ambiance. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety. Most importantly, our hosts were friendly and helpful.

人により評価の分かれる宿だろう。アパートの3部屋を分けて貸し出しているスタイルなので,キッチンもトイレもテラスも共用となるがあり,人の少ない時期だと好きに使えて便利だった。洗濯機はないが干す場所はある。シーツやタオルなどは清潔だが固定のベッド下やシンク下などまでは期待するべきではない。時期と泊まるメンバー次第かと思う。

We are given a room which is a distance away from the reception - where there are no shelter, involved crossing a bridge and stairs. it was raining when we checked in - which results in great inconvenience. The place we were located at does not have lift and we are on the 2nd floor. Take note to those who wants to book this place w big luggages. Other than that, room itself was clean and decoration was nice and modern. Aircon does not appear to be working as we felt that there isn’t ventilation in the room when windows are closed (for safety reasons). Room comes w free Mini bar as there were no breakfast.

Perfect little hotel few minutes away from main attractions. Tucked in a narrow alley next to the cute little campo. Good local cafe and bakery downstairs and a nice bar just around the corner. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Room on the small side but cosy, comfortable and very clean. Nice bathroom with two sinks ans big shower. Rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy, especially early in the morning when local shops open and late in the evening when people are having fun in surrounding bars but that wasn’t a big issue, certainly not something that would put me off form staying there again. In January the price was great and the hotel was not busy. Overall a great place to stay in Venice!

From the bottom of my heart, please do not waste your money on this place. Look somewhere else. We are a family with a ten year old and 6 month old baby. Entry - pretty straight forward for us, we had a text message with instructions. Once we were in - the living area had a sofa that was pulled out into a bed for us. That’s fine. But there’s then no living area. Or room to swing a cat. Bathroom, there was mould in the shower. The most ridiculous cups for your coffee that also takes 6 years to pour. There’s no cleaning facilities like a sweeping brush so your constantly walking over natural dirt that’s been brought in from outside and having to wipe your feet before getting into bed. No cot was given to us even though one was requested through booking.com. We had high hopes from other reviews that the communication was good, however, I messaged to ask for more cups and an iron but we were left on two blue ticks on WhatsApp. Messaged for help with getting to the airport at 2am - no response. Actually they were pretty rude when they did reply. No one was seen to help us anywhere. The view was stunning once you got into the communal area, that was probably the only highlight. And that it’s right next to the waterbus stop Please spend your money on a better place so that you have a nicer experience of Venice because this place has really ruined a family trip for us.
