Amazing stay at iza, warm and friendly staff...
more than excellent location, with just a small walk from the station and a quick throw from the ocean and the famous enoshima island!
the location is really, really crazy good... lawson and 7-11 are so nearby, and there are lots of good local foods...
highly recommend you try:
1. hilo ice cream - by a couple who had lived in hawaii for 10 years, they started an ice cream shop and it is crazy delicious
2. sobanii - a local soba shop w delicious soba!!
3. surfing! there are lots of surf shops towards kugenuma and for 3,000 yen, you can rent a suit and a board... there are classes for beginners too!
it is also a train journey to kamakura where you can ride the cute enoden train...
you can buy your meal and eat it at the cafe, or grab drinks and drink it in the evening with other hostel stayers...
the cafe ice cream and coffee is delicious!
Love this place, highly recommend
People who complain about neighbourhood are partially right, because it's indeed not the best (a lot of cheap hostels there). But actually, it is still safe. (It is Japan!)
And yes, you get a WHOLE ROOM, and not just a capsule like in another hostels.
A young girl like me was completely okay and nothing bad happened during my four days stay there. The staff is friendly. I walked through all the Yokohama by feet, so you can say it's pretty near the city centre
Cozy place. A tv that can either be a good thing or a bad one if ppl turn it up too loud and spend hours on it zapping around. In the same time in that same common area it’s forbidden to talk, as this place is supposed to be for eating and working, but then they place a tv with Netflix and YouTube and all that stuff in that same room. It’s too hot in the dormitory with too thick blankets at the same time. Otherwise the view from the common space is great and there’s a balcony for smoking on the other side of the apartment. In the end I worked in the stairway…also they place the ppl close to each other even if there’s a lot o space to keep them at distance. So half of the dorm was empty but still I had a snoring guy sleeping right underneath my bed…this can be improved.
it was a really nice stay, the location is convenient, it is 5 min walk from the station and some other tourist spots. The facilities are a bit old that the beds are making squeaky sounds and the air conditioner went from hot to cold and from cold to hot within seconds, hope they fix it.

Location fantastic. But hostel told me must check in before 8pm. Fortunately I called before hand due to weather delayed transport to Yokohama. 8pm is too early to close reception. Bed uncomfortable, metal rods below thin mattress. They did not bother to add one more rod to balance out the weight. See photos. Other than above, good compact hostel.

Nice hotel. It has several rooms and only one shared room woomen-only. So it's not like ordinary hotel.
It's not far from bus station, but the way may be tough for older people or if you have heavy luggage.
There is very nice area with Japanese garden view and tatami.
There is an onsen which you can book for 40 min every day. Onsen is in a near building through beautiful alley. Onaen is aslso clean and in a good condition. After onsen there is a free massage chair. They give yukatas.
Closest 7/11 about 10 min walking. There is an opportunity to order breakfast and dinner in the hotel.
It's not a ryokan, but a nice place to stay surrounded by mountains.
They have free one-way morning shuttles to Gora or Museum. There is also a short way to reach Gora, but only if you like stairs. Not a way with suitcases or grandparents.

AAlilouistthe hotel doesn’t have an elevator and the staff didn’t even bother to help us with our luggage. we’re two girls and we had 3 big suitcases.
luggage storage is 500¥ per piece and we just wanted to leave it for half an hour.
breakfast is provided for 500¥ but it’s just coffee and croissant, i could pay more but get some good food because there are no restaurants nearby.
the reception closes at 9 or 10 pm, and there were guests who arrived after that time and asked us for help because there was no one at the counter.
the onsen looked kinda disappointing.
overall, it’s okay if you’re looking for a budget stay for 1 night, but i would not recommend it
WWilliam123456It's my pleasure to stay here. And everything's very nice and cute. You have your single room in here. Even the bathroom and toilet sharing. And it's very nice to talk with the staff here, they're really cute and nice. And they would be really willing to give you some recommendations for Yokohama city.
And this time I forgot to bring my charger and I borrowed the charger from them as well.
Oh, you also can ask them to take a cute photo for you. I just personally really like those things.
And remember to check their birthday book up, that's really nice to see each day the different birthdays descriptions.
I'll be looking forward to staying there again if I visit Yokohama.
ぱぱぴさんThis guesthouse was incredibly cozy and felt just like home. At check-in, they carefully explained everything I needed to know. I stayed in the women's-only dormitory room, which I believe was a 6-person room with three bunk beds. I had the bottom bunk. There were no locks, but there were sturdy curtains for privacy. Even though it was a cold day, the room was warm, and having a light above the bed made for a comfortable stay. Everyone seemed to be considerate and kept quiet. Eating and drinking weren't allowed on the bed, but it wasn't an issue as the ground floor had a cozy cafe (pictured) where you could relax freely. I read a bit in bed and then slept soundly. When I mentioned at check-out that I was visiting Enoshima, they told me about taking a boat, which made my trip much more enjoyable than planned. Luggage storage after check-out was also cheaper than using a locker, and I enjoyed the interaction. I'd love to stay here again if I get the chance. Shared rooms are very affordable and highly recommended for solo travelers.
JJette Marie☀️ When i first arrived, i thought i was at the wrong place - i‘ve never booked something so nice for myself before!
🪲PROS
- chill 4 people bedrooms, with a comfy bed and a big personal shelf + locker and a fridge for the room
- clean facilities and rooms
- towel, toothpaste/toothpaste and yukata were provided as well as shampoo and showergel
- the common room was so cozy and nice, with tea and water always at the ready and a great view of the garden
- i was satisfied with both the dinner and breakfast and the price was fairly cheap (~1200¥ or a bit more, depending on your choices)
- PRIVATE ONSEN that you can book for around 50minutes at night and can use in the morning if nobody else is already using it (costs around 150¥ per use)
- there is a shuttle bus going at pretty regular times in the morning. They offer a ride to both Gora-Station or Hakone-Open-Air-Museum!
🩸CONS
- far from the city-centre/train station
🌱 i really enjoyed my stay. I had cool roomies that became travel companions and absolutely loved the inn, the onsen, the food and the kind staff!
Definitely a recommendation if you ever decide to stay in Hakone - i would book again!
BBig BeckerCompared to the one in Ueno station, it can't compete.
I had to spend an extra thousand japanese coins to store my luggage for 5 hours because they were very strict on the Check-in time at 3 PM. I've traveled around quite a bit and i've never had to spend extra money to store my bags in the hotel that I have already booked and paid to stay in for the night. To me, this was very inconvenient and a little strange.Considering this is the first time it ever happened to me. And I've traveled around many countries can't think of a single one. That wouldn't let me just store my bags in the behind the counter and then let me check in later. Everybody was very polite and nice and the guy would even use his translator to tell me about the company policy. I think this place must be pretty new.So the owner is running it by the book. Overall I still enjoyed it tho!
GGuest UserA good clean and cozy hostel to stay in Yokohama Chinatown area. Owner is helpful and friendly..Speak a little Chinese but that's OK. Fluent in English matters more.
Not advisable to bring big luggage here as for most cases of hostel stay in Japan.
GGuest UserThe location was great, within walking distance from Shimbashi Station. The humidifier and air purifier were running, which was good, but it seems they couldn't completely block out the pollen, making my hay fever quite difficult. The bed, toilet, and shower were all clean and comfortable. I'd like to use this hotel again when I visit the Shimbashi area.
WWEIThere was no counter service when I checked in, only instructions in the envelope. I only received an email after I checked out asking me to fill in basic check-in information.
What I am dissatisfied with is that the instructions in the envelope can use a highlighter or blue pen to clearly mark the parts that need to be filled in, and include a pen for filling in the information, so that people who are not familiar with the process and foreign languages can immediately understand that this document must be filled out.
The email that contacted me to fill in the information afterwards did not tell me which platform to use to reply correctly.
This forced me to sacrifice a lot of extra time to study on top of my busy schedule, and I didn't even know if my information had been submitted correctly.
All these inconsiderate and rude services made me waste a lot of time after checking out, and I felt very unhappy about it.
AAlvin Mike MendigoGreat place to stay in Hakone!
Just few walks away from the bus stop and town proper of Motohakone, where tourist attractions are located. Feels like home when you stay in this accommodation. I love the hot spring w/ overview of the suburb. Overall, great service, cleanliness, and comfy stay.
GGuest UserThis is the first time I've stayed in a hostel with an onsen! The onsen while small, does the job, and the outdoor onsen was really peaceful at night. I booked a queen bed for 2 people and it was spacious enough for me to hold all my belongings. Hostel staff were really friendly as well.
One thing to note though is if you're planning to stay here, getting here from Hatsune-Yumato station requires a very steep climb up the road and a trek through the forest, so do NOT attempt to walk here yourself! Take the K-line bus instead, which drops you 100m away from the hostel.
