This hotel is very comfortable with many facilities, and it's close to restaurants and attractions. The price is also reasonable. I always stay at this hotel. Excellent! I'll definitely come again next time.

A very clean European-style youth hostel, with very cute kittens downstairs. The air conditioning is sufficient, the location is convenient, the facilities are well maintained, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The whole environment is very clean, because you need to take off your shoes. The cat is very well behaved and cute, and the atmosphere is very warm. Have to take off your shoes when entering the door. The hostel is chic and practically design, the accommodation was tidy and cozy with affordable price. Moreover, the spacious common area and separated Male/Female bathrooms, simple pantry with 3in1 coffee, tea bag, snacks, water dispenser and microwave oven. There are 3 cute & friendly cats in the hostel too. The public space design is not very interactive. The capsules or boxes are comfortable. Have good locker system which uses card. The capsule pod was poor ventilation after cover by curtain as there is no mini fan and exhaust fan, towel not provided. After pulling the curtains and turning on the light, you can clearly see dust flying around. It is generally very clean, but the bed is relatively small This dormitory hostel has strategic location and are good, small, noisy electronic lockers, privacy curtains don't bring that much privacy. Staff don't seem to care a lot about what's happening and the staff are not that friendly. The mattress was comfortable. The lobby was clean and offered complimentary hot water and snacks, which was a nice touch. There are no bath towels and slippers, and it costs RM5 to ask for a bath towel. No hot water for shower and 2in1 shampoo/body wash provided but rarely replenish. The bathroom and toilet have windows to the outside, so they are more ventilated, the space is large, and they are very comfortable to use. The shower head has a brass retro shape, which is super beautiful. No deposit needed, easy to check in and check out. Location is strategic and near to major attractions, shopping malls and eateries within walking distance. But no lift and amenities. Have to climb up stairs and suitable for younger generations.

The check in is a bit of a hassle, where you need to contact the owner and they'll give you instructions on how to pick up the keys, where to get them but fortunately the check out is very simple. You just need to drop the keys in the box for check-out. Overall the environment is quite clean, there's a restaurant out front, near the main road so it's very easy to find. But it's NOT near well known locations like river cruise, taming sari, shopping mall.

The cleanliness and tidiness were acceptable. However, there's room for improvement in the service. I checked in at 3 PM and found that the entire room, including the bathroom, had no mirrors. I had to wait another half an hour for someone to install them. Also, the front desk service closes at 7 PM.

I had a really good stay at Discovery Youth Hostel, Melaka. The location is honestly perfect — right in the old town, walking distance to Jonker Street, cafes, night markets, and all the main attractions. The place is simple, clean, and comfortable, exactly what you expect from a good hostel. For the price, it’s totally worth it. The vibe is chill, good for solo travelers and backpackers, and it’s easy to meet people. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in a great location in Melaka, this is a solid choice. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning kept me cool and I was able to sleep soundly at night. The shower temperature was just right, and the water pressure was stable and easy to use. The staff were friendly and always smiling, which made me feel at ease. I appreciated the free towels they provided. The hotel is right next to the river, so there was a table where I could rest while looking out at the river. The location is convenient, but the nearby restaurants are open until late at night, so the noise outside can be a bit distracting. Also, the lack of a washing machine may be inconvenient for those staying long-term. Overall, it's good value for money, and I highly recommend this hotel for short stays.

Price: Very cheap 👍🏻 because I paid RM10.60 😅 Environment: Clean, simple, with water heater, air conditioning, tidy beds, two toilets, and a restaurant downstairs. Location: Excellent. I walked and enjoyed the scenery for about 10 minutes and arrived at Jonker Street. At night, there's a Malay night market and many eateries nearby, all within walking distance 🚶‍♀️. The Upside Down House is right behind, just a 1-minute walk away. Next to it, you can see beautiful night views and city lights 🌃 with boats passing by on the river. Within a 5-minute walk, there are also 99 Speedmart, 7-11, and Guardian, so you don't have to worry about not finding daily necessities. Hostel Restaurant: The food is incredibly delicious!! 👍🏻😘 And cheap too!! Summary/Thoughts: Personally, I believe you get what you pay for, so don't pay RM10 and expect RM100 service 😒; that's impossible. If you can't accept that, then don't stay here, because you can always choose to pay RM100 to stay in a hotel, right? 😂 This is a mixed dormitory, meaning it's open for both men and women, with bunk beds 🛏️. Most guests are from different countries and are backpackers or people who need a simple rest and a place to shower during a short stopover. Don't bring valuables; you need to keep your personal belongings safe, just as you would in a hotel. Their staff cleans regularly 🧹, so it's clean and doesn't have any strong odors. As for the room rules, it's stated that no loud talking or noise is allowed, no smoking 🚬, and shoes cannot be worn inside the room – they must be left outside. So the room itself is quite clean. Unless you encounter selfish guests who don't follow the rules, like wearing shoes inside. So far, the guests I've encountered here are all reasonable and respectful. From morning to night, it's not noisy or chaotic, so napping 💤 is possible 😌. Their restaurant food is super affordable and delicious 😋, they even allowed me to pack food to go. 😅 They also give a RM2 voucher for their restaurant during check-in. The cheapest fried rice is only RM5, which I tried. I also had the prawn noodles for RM10 and prawn crackers for RM10. I honestly feel so great staying here. It's cheap to stay, cheap to eat, no extra taxes, and it has air conditioning and a water heater – perfect for backpackers. I met many guests here from different cities and countries 😁, and we all shared our experiences. While talking to them, I suddenly felt very lucky, because two days ago something happened here: an elderly guest from Singapore 🇸🇬 caused a scene, verbally abusing 🤬 the staff and looking down on people. The main thing is that he was making a big fuss in the room, and even the police 👮 came in the middle of the night. But the police didn't come up to the room; they were downstairs in the restaurant. I heard the person ran away 🏃 before the police arrived because he took the deposit and even snatched the room key 🔑. The guests here all advised the owner to report it to the police 🚔. 🤔 Actually, I want to say to this Singaporean, what gives you the right to be arrogant and look down on people? Is it because the Singapore dollar exchange rate is high? Is it because you speak English? 😅 If you think you're rich and high above, you wouldn't be staying here; you'd be in a 5-star hotel. Can you insult people for paying just over ten ringgit? That's too cheap! Moreover, not everyone staying here is poor or of a lower class. Even if they were, they wouldn't be as cheap as you to cause trouble. Learning to respect others is also respecting yourself. Quality and education come from your attitude. After hearing everyone's conversations, I think this guest is an uncultured and ill-mannered Singaporean. And Malaysia and Singapore are just neighboring countries. Isn't causing trouble in a neighboring country just shaming your own country? 🤣 Where's your brain? Don't be ridiculous 🙄. Give you an inch, and you'll take a mile. For example: just because we give you a cheap price, a good environment, and service, do we have to offer ourselves to you too? 😱

The staff were all excellent (at the counter, housekeeping). The room and bed were clean, cool, the AC was strong, and the bathroom was also clean! There's a spot to hang out. There's also storage space under the bed. Next to the bed, there's a hook and a night lamp. Everything was great!!! No noise, I slept soundly. By the way, I booked for a solo female, the environment felt safe, no disturbances whatsoever. Parking is available in front of the hostel. Definitely will come again!

A nice place, a bit far from the attractions so had to take a taxi but there are lots of places to eat. No elevator and you have to go up a flight of stairs. Nice place for solo travelers.

Well... the location is great. You couldn't find a more central or romantic place to stay. The room is also kind of cozy, definitely old-school. Great view of the river. The owner is incredibly nice. But... We booked 36 square meters. The room was 16 square meters plus a small bathroom without hot water... Taking off your shoes at the front door and walking barefoot through the house is also a matter of personal taste. The offerings urgently need to be revised. And the price is too high for what you get. But still, I'd recommend it for the right kind of renter. But I wouldn't book it again... Too quirky. Too expensive. And far too many barriers throughout the house. The toilet is designed for short people.
