Stayed here for two days in a row. The location is very good. I chose it because the introduction said there is free parking. Currently, this youth hostel has 3-4 parking spaces in front of the door, first come first served. Otherwise, you need to go to Hamilton Road to find one (which is often full). You need to bring your own shower gel and shampoo, which is not very convenient. Other than that, I can give it a very high score. The youth hostel has cooperation discount codes with some attractions, you can ask the front desk to get them. If you are traveling alone, I still recommend them.

Self check in kiosk is available, room card will be printed out from the kiosk. Ctrip last minute rate is competitive, highly recommended. However the room is a bit small. Excellent lakefront location

While the room was on the smaller side, this was anticipated given that it doesn't offer a private bathroom. The listing indicated a 'separate toilet,' but in reality, it was just a washbasin within the room, and the toilet itself was shared. If privacy for facilities is important to you, I'd strongly advise against booking. Parking was also a significant challenge. The hotel lacks its own car park, requiring guests to find street parking. There are only two spots directly outside the hotel, which are rarely vacant and can be used by non-guests too. The whole street is usually packed with parked cars, making it extremely difficult to find a space. Opposite the hotel are private residences. We found the occupants to be quite rude; they aggressively told us not to park in any seemingly empty spots in front of their properties. This was the only instance of rudeness I encountered during my entire trip to New Zealand; every other local I met was incredibly friendly.

I had high expectations after staying at the Haka House in Wanaka which were not met. This branch is merely a big old house turned into hostel. the room was small, dark and smelly.Only positive things were location and helpfulf staff.

Good place to stay if you are traveling solo. Location is perfect, kitchen and sofa area are big, customer service was responding immediately

Not super close to the Richies/Intercity bus stop, but still within a 10-min walk. Room is a bit small, and the curtain on the bed had a stain. On the bright side, the public area facilities are great, the kitchen is big and well equipped. There’s also a supermarket nearby, which is probably the main convenience. For first-timers at Haka House, just a heads-up, the main door needs a password. If the receptionist doesn’t mention it, check your email or look around the wall for any info posted.

This hotel offers excellent service and boasts new facilities. The rooms are incredibly quiet, ensuring a very comfortable night's sleep. I highly recommend staying here when you visit New Zealand. The amenities are comprehensive, and the self-check-in and check-out process is very smart. It's definitely a top choice for accommodation during your travels.

The location is really convenient, the staff is very friendly, and they can help you organize a map of free parking locations. Unfortunately, the kitchen is located in the basement, which is a bit inconvenient. Occasionally there are strange noises in the middle of the night, but you can't change rooms. 🥲🥲🥲
