Hotel Hot Springs di Toyama Prefecture, Japan

Really enjoyed that onsen! This is a fantastic place to stay with an amazing breakfast buffet, a lounge where you can make creative tradition Japanese arts, big rooms, friendly staff and most of all an amazing onsen. The onsen here is maybe one of the best we’ve been to and we’ve been to a lot, it even offers a cold bath if that’s your kind of thing. The down sides (which very minor) are the WiFi which was pretty weak and the fact you’d need to have a car to get out there (which we did, but for some this may be a problem). Nevertheless, this place is a 10/10 would highly recommend.

A magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.

Location is a short distance away from the Toyama station. But everything else is perfefct. I loved that my room had a small onsen as well, so I could continue to soak in the comfort of my room after visiting the big onsen. Both were great and it really helps to relax the body after a long day. Staff were friendly and went out their ways to assist with my requests. Really 10/10.

Five-star rating all around! I was a bit worried the 2019 renovation might feel old, but it absolutely doesn't – everything feels very new. They offer a pick-up service from the train station, or it's just a 300m walk. Inside the hotel, there are English-speaking staff, making communication a breeze. The buffet dinner was also good. There aren't many dining options on the hot spring street; besides one BBQ place, it's mostly set menus and ramen, so the hotel buffet is a better choice. For lunch, I recommend the cafe by the entrance; both the cakes and drinks were delicious. Since we visited in winter, we didn't book the scenic train, but we did go to the ski resort, which was perfect for kids. The foot bath next to the train station was super hot and incredibly relaxing. This is a great place to stay for two nights.

Loved it! Even though it took a while to get there, and it's a shame it didn't snow, the hot springs inside were fantastic. There were three of them! I've stayed here before, and the staff are always so welcoming.

The staff were all very polite, kind, and generally wonderful. The amenities were great, and the room was clean. The hot spring was also very pleasant. If I had to point out one thing, it would be the dressing room in the hot spring. When I sat down to dry my hair, my eyes were drawn to the gap between the sink and the counter below, and I noticed some dust had accumulated there. The corners of the walls also had some dust. Since everything else was so clean, it was a bit disappointing. I would definitely like to stay here again.

Since it's a new facility, the entire hotel was clean and comfortable. I had mentally prepared for a small room, so I was fine with it; I just had a little trouble opening my suitcase. Even though my room was next to the elevator, I wasn't bothered by people or noise. From my 10th-floor room, I had a great view of Toyama Castle Park right in front. I went to breakfast early, so it wasn't too crowded. The freshly baked bread was delicious, and I really enjoyed having the local specialty, tororo kombu (grated kelp), over rice. The hotel is also close to the station, and I was able to walk there. On the way back, I took the tram. It's very convenient and compact, making it a good recommendation for families too.

Nice Japanese breakfast. Strategic location to get around Gokayama and Shirakawa. In front of the hotel is the biggest Gassho style house in Japan that has a long history of being owned by samurais and where the emporia family had visited many times and is considered a cultural heritage of Japan.. I would go back to this hotel because of its location.

This hotel is not modern but however it has a particular charm to it. Hotel is spacious, rooms are super clean and spacious. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Service staff are so nice and helpful. Carpark is easy and available. My wife and I really enjoyed our 2 nights stay. Drive to the Tateyama station where Alpine route starts was easy and near. Around 6 mins from hotel.

Staff friendly, breakfast has been made early on request. Not very clean in the bathroom, and at night the ventilation in my room was ventilated but it is normal to stay for 1 night. Beauty and towels are clean! There is a microwave, a teapot and a refrigerator in the common zone. Go from the hotel on foot 20 minutes to the Tateyama station. Breakfast is delicious and satisfactory, and there are beautiful female portraits in the hotel)
