Recently stayed overnight for a wedding we were attending at the hotel. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. We received a free upgrade and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast the following morning was more than adequate with the option of a full scottish along with an array of food for a continental breakfast. I would have no hesitation staying at Norwood Hall again

So decent priced superior room.but then the bill is quickly racked up. So.£160 for dinner with a couple of pints. £37.00 for two double gin.and tonics. A very pretentious place with lots of fake timber.panneling but the icing on the cake was a group of American guests explaining to their countrymen British history including the Miners strike and other famous events such as Steel.work closures, all miss quoted. The hotel.has potential but.not.if they rip customers off

Very nice hotel but don't stay in room 7 if you would prefer not have goings on in the night!! if you like that thing then this is your room!! Just letting you all know, apart from moving rooms at 2am due to unwanted attention it is a very warm, inviting and welcoming hotel. New part advised for the easily spooked.

my wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in May firstly the reception was good, efficient and polite we did ask about a possible upgrade but were told we have a deluxe room so we accepted that. the hotel is very nice with lots of old world charm such as panelling in the public rooms and grand staircase. the room we had was very good, clean and spacious. during our stay the staff were friendly and helpful at reception, the bar and restaurant. mostly we had a good stay but a few small points to note the bath tap come off during a bath. food and drink are very expensive £9 for a glass of prosecco! and my main meal in the restaurant was £26.50 - when you add the service charge this makes my single main meal close to £30 - the service and food were good as you would expect but prices are still high - we did compare other hotel/restaurant menus. the first morning the breakfast was not good - it was almost cold, small portions, the bacon was overcooked and the sausage burned and only one tea bag in a pot for 2 people! ( I also expected Haggis with a Scottish breakfast as most Scottish hotels have but this was not a problem) a £5 surcharge for eggs benedict - without cooked breakfast not in addition to a cooked breakfast these issues were mentioned to reception the lack of outside space to sit could be improved upon - there are photos in the hotel of parts of the garden when it looked good which are now sadly overgrown and neglected and although there are some nice trees and shrubs in the garden around these were full of weeds and untidy - this is at the main entrance/drive/ car park areas which is what you first see when you arrive. would we stay again - maybe but we would go somewhere else to eat and drink as there are numerous places nearby

Stayed here for 1 night dinner bed breakfast deal.Lovely hotel ,1st class food and service from Janina . There was no charging points beside bed and the shower could do with a grab rail and anti slip mat as was quite slippy with the shower gel otherwise we would stay again.

Hubby and I had the Sunday roasting board on an Itison voucher. We also had starters, both of which were very good. However, the star of the show was the roasting board itself. Roast beef cooked to perfection, melted in the mouth. Really moist and tasty pork. Plenty of both to share between us, along with roast potatoes, carrots, brocolli, creamed cabbage and yorkshire puddings. First class. We also had a couple of drinks in the whisky room, very reasonably priced. Really enjoyed it.

Just perfect! We were transported back to the fairytale of good old Scotland. A tartan clad mansion with exquisite food, superb drink options by the fireplace, a quaint library and quintessencially Scottish decor. Friendly staff, cosy rooms and soft beds!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this magnificent hotel and was thoroughly impressed by its grand yet cozy atmosphere. The staff were helpful and kind, but not overbearing. Despite my short stay, I had a great time. There was only one minor issue I found with the playlist in the bar, lounge and library areas. While the intention may have been good, the piano instrumental covers of current pop songs on repeat didn't quite hit the mark for me. I would have preferred some jazz instead, seems more suitable for the design of the hotel and for my intentions to sit by the fire and read all afternoons. Perhaps it was due to licensing restrictions? Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be returning.
