We stayed at the Fairfield when passing through Alamosa. This particular Fairfield is a slightly older incarnation of the Fairfield concept and design. If I had to guess, I'd say the hotel was built or last renovated between 2012 and 2016. At check-in, I was given a paper bag with a mini-bottle of water, two packages of assorted nuts and a printed notecard thanking me for staying. The notecard wasn't personally addressed or signed. I was told this ”amenity” was because of my Marriott Bonvoy elite status. None of the preferences on my reservation were fulfilled. I specified a room away from the elevator. I received a room right across from the one elevator. One of the beds had two polyester-fill pillows (the kind that feel like cottonballs) and one feather pillow. The other bed had three polyester-fill pillows. My room, a double-queen suite, was comfortable. However, it was only superficially clean and was starting to show wear and tear. There was hair on the countertops of furniture and also the bathroom vanity. The bathtub had residue and/or stains from what looked like an old bath mat. The caulking could use replacement. The baseboards were dusty and dirty. The pipe going from the toilet to the wall and also the sprinkler were heavily rusted. The two 50-inch LG television was made in 2021 and was newer than the rest of the room. The sofa couch in the sitting room of the suite was worn and had visible discoloration. In the bathroom, the towels were different. Some were generic hotel supply company towels. Others were towels with Westin labels. The gym was well-equipped and includes two newer Matrix treadmills. Not my favorite brand but very good nonetheless. The gym is open 24/7. The small indoor pool and hot tub was dominated by kids. It's open 7 am to 10 pm. Breakfast starts at 6 am, which is nice. Coffee was out by 5:45 am. The selection was mediocre. A sausage breakfast sandwich, small egg quiches, cereal, yogurt, and breads. I didn't see any fresh fruit or fresh berries. I also didn't see any tea. The market off of the front desk was mostly empty. No beer, no wine, no diet soda. Just purified water and regular soda plus junk food snacks. All things considered, you'll forget ever staying here. It's an average slightly older Fairfield that could be cleaner and should be lightly updated. The nightly room rates of $200-plus before taxes are greatly inflated by the proximity (about 40 minutes) to a national park. This is really a hotel that anywhere else would be $85-$115 per night. There aren't many hotels in Alamosa, but $200-plus for a basic limited-service hotel without even a bar is outrageous

Best Western Alamosa Inn

Amazing hotel in a good location, convenient for visiting Great Sand Dunes National Park. The breakfast was one of the best offerings I’ve seen for a non-five star hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Not exactly the cheapest hotel room (especially considering the town it was in) but overall still a good value considering the quality of the stay
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Alamosa

* I felt being treated differently compared to other guests. The hotel staff greeted other guests with fast check-in, professionalism, and warm welcome. I had to ask. Nor they welcomed me to their hotel like they welcome others to this hotel. * The telephone’s instruction sheet felt off, needs to be attached. That makes the phone looks old, dirty, and gross., but it works. * Weak water stream in bathroom room faucet, nor you can adjust the strength. * No office chair in the room, they explained it doesn’t come for a double bedroom and they said there isn’t any. And asked me to go downstairs to business center to use it or the restaurant. Saying having office chair is to prevent fire hazard which doesn't seem to make sense. * There isn’t any desk lamp or lights in front of the bed near the window, where the table is located, which felt too dark. * The main street next to the hotel is noisy at night, throughout the night, traffic and vehicles are noisy are very loud. * Noises from machines running and outside noises started at 5am. * The service quality was inconsistent, sometimes good, sometimes average. The room was clean, breakfast was fine. I will not recommend this hotel because all these reasons above. There is a Hampton Inn next door, further away from the main street, and there are also other hotels nearby which can possibly provide a better experience.

It was a very nice stay visiting Great Sand Dune NP. Only 30 min to the park, and there are many restaurants in walking distance. The room was clean and spacious. Our favorite part was a free order-to-made breakfast at the cafe next door, included in the rate. We don’t get the service at any chain hotels. Also the rate was reasonable. Highly recommend!
Super 8 by Wyndham Alamosa

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and I appreciated that the desk clerk who checked me in was friendly and attentive, even though it was 2:00(ish) AM. Also, I was really surprised by the quality of the continental breakfast. There was a fantastic variety of hot and cold foods to choose from, and although it had been sitting out for quite awhile by the time I got there, the eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage & home fries were still delicious. The only things that could have made it better would have been the inclusion of bacon & if the juice dispenser wasn't empty. I was also grateful that my request to check out 30 minutes late was granted, without them making me feel like a burden, as that gave me enough time to take a quick shower before getting to work.
