Hotel was great for the price you pay. The rooms are tiny (barely enough room to open a suitcase) and although situated conveniently next to a metro station is in the middle of nowhere but again, you get what you pay for and the lobby, gym and communal areas are well designed and well kept. If you don’t mind a 15/20min Metro travel to Amsterdam Centraal you wouldn’t mind it here I give the hotel 2 stars because I accidentally left my Apple Airpod headphones in the lobby area the day I checked out to visit another hotel in Amsterdam, although when I called Hotel Leonardo that same night to ask them if they’d been handed in I was told they hadn’t. I travelled down to the hotel the next morning to be told the same thing, that there were no headphones that had been handed in but they asked for my name and previous room number so they could contact me should they turn up. Luckily I was able to make my lost AirPods make a sound (findmyiphone feature you can activate when you lose a device) and I could hear them beeping behind the front desk so I told the receptionist that I knew they were behind the desk and she eventually handed them over. I firmly believe the hotel staff were trying to keep my misplaced AirPods headphones and if I had not been able to make the sound from the Airpods they would have pocketed them

I’m surprise that for this hotel service and courtesy of staff is better than their 3* hotek in London The front desk staff were really helpful & friendly . We arrived late at night without dinner and the front desk share the apps for food delivery which we ordered pizza at 11pm . Location is good . Enjoy the view while walking to city central . Rooms is really clean & bigger than holiday inn. Simple healthy breakfast with nice environment . Completely satisfied with the service of this hotel . Highly recommended

Charming quaint hotel situated right near Albert Cuyp. The hotel was in great condition & location was perfect - off a quiet street but close walking distance to the main museums, trendy cafes, restaurants & markets. Room was quiet, clean & comfortable. Friendly, professional, easy going front desk reception. The common areas were all very well maintained, the room although small, was perfect for our needs - also very clean & perfectly renovated with nice fixtures. My mom & I shared the family room for 4 pax - it was perfect for 2, as we got to have our own separate space in a small room. This is a not a budget hotel, rather $300 USD per night. The value was noticeable. We did not opt in for breakfast which is a separate fee but coffee & tea was included for hotel guests. Ease of check in & check out was a plus. Everything was pleasant - clean, modern, updated & fresh. Highly recommend Hotel Nicolaas Witsen & would absolutely return :)

Super duper close to Amsterdam Centraal station and there are buses and trams nearby. Just a 10-15 min walk to the Red Light districts and de Bijenkorf shopping mall.
We said we didn't want end rooms but got arranged to one when we checked in... The view was nice with a balcony (but it's locked so you can't go outside) but my partner did not feel comfortable with end rooms.
Eventually we called down to the front desk for a room and they changed us to a room nearer to the lifts.
One thing I really liked about the hotel is that they use WhatsApp for requesting for amenities and checking out. It's convenient and simple to use but somehow... The housekeeping keeps on getting 1 or 2 items wrong lol
Oh and please note that they don't provide bottled water, the whole city is proud of their tap water and the receptionist said it's safe to drink. If tap water isn't to your liking, there are quite a few stores nearby to buy mineral water. I would recommend going to Albert Heijn or Dirk for those. Slippers are provided in this hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Small room but very comfortable, clean, and relatively quiet considering how close to the bustling tourist areas it is. Very convenient to the train station and kind staff. The breakfast/lounge area was a fantastic place to sit in peace with a coffee and get some work done.

Great hotel. Modern, clean with plenty of space in the room. Shower excellent. All amenities provided including a gym and pizza restaurant/bar downstairs. Rate was reasonable and very close to Noord rail station. The only issue is that Noord is a developing area and there is not much going on outside the hotel. A train trip is required to visit downtown Amsterdam which is 2 stops away. Great for business travellers.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an overall positive experience. The location is incredibly convenient, with a direct train to the city center that takes less than 15 minutes, making it perfect for exploring. The room was clean and well-maintained, with the added bonus of a TV equipped with Netflix and YouTube for entertainment.
The only downside was the bathroom’s ventilation, which could use some improvement, as there was a slight odor. Despite this minor issue, I enjoyed my stay and would consider returning due to the excellent location and comfortable accommodations.

Wonderful hotel experience. I knew this place was a little off the beaten path but chose it because of the glowing reviews, best decision. The booking process was easy, I feel like it was great value for the money paid. From the moment we checked in everything was wonderful. Efficient and friendly check in with suggestions given. Elevator that fit us and our luggage. The room was lovely, very clean, nicely decorated, large bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The room was very quiet and super comfy. The gym was great, a lot of equipment in an efficient space. This hotel is located in a residential neighborhood with no cafe really close by but you don't even notice that with the hotel bar and restaurant being so awesome. Their onsite restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and they have a great bar with snacks. Large, outside terrace that is lovely when the weather is nice. This is a close uber ride away to all the canals and tourist areas. Highly recommend and would stay again.

One of the best hotels Ive even been to. And I have seen Many Many hotels around the world. Location is a bit out of the centre, but public transport is just outside of the hotel and takes you to the city centre. Hotel lobby is amazing; boutique vibes. Staff is Amazing and soooo helpful! Rooms are the best. Kitchen, sofa, bed and bathroom; all very very clean and very modern. Slept very well; very quiet for a hotel in Amsterdam. Parking is underground of the hotel. Albert heyn (supermarket) is around the corner. A 10+ for this hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

PPengguna TetamuThey really thought of lots of lovely little things that make your stay fantastic... you walk in and there's wine gums on reception to feast on, you can take a Polaroid and clip it to the wall, postcards to send home, more wine gums on your bed & water bottles to refill with lovely flavoured water downstairs... so many lovely things. Quiet location, but still on a pretty canal. Close to all the must see places, great boutique type shops all around.

The room was comfortable. Reception, porter, concierge were fantastic. The breakfast server (brown ponytail) was not warm and friendly. She made me feel unwelcome and chastised. We walked in and did not see the hostess. I did not understand that one server was speaking to me. Another server sternly told me that her colleague was talking to me. I felt like a child being corrected. For €600 + a night this is unacceptable. Just kindly help me know what to do. She also rudely told me milk was on the table for coffee. I felt rushed and just missed it. For this high price, you should kindly redirect and help people figure out the breakfast routine. I’ve traveled many places. This made me stressed and I simply wanted a good cup of coffee. Why? Can’t you just be nice?

One thing I dislike however is that I was waken up at 9:00 Am by a cleaning lady entering the room, then again after I have confirmed the extra charge to stay in the room until 3pm (20eur/hour), they call me at 2pm and again knocked the door at 2:40 pm to remind me to check out, is there any communication issue in the hotel?

You also can take bus and tram it is just few step away. Flixbus station is just 5 minutes by walk. You can take any public transport to city central within 10-20 minutes and 10 minutes to airport.

PPengguna TetamuOh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked.
The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be.
The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer.
The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study.
BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station.
I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

We found a very kind and friendly staff . The location of the hotel was top. Close to the central streets of Amsterdam, but away from the hustle and bustle. We have always walked around to enjoy the city. Not very large room, but perfect for exploring Amsterdam (we just needed a place to sleep; during the day we were always out). The result was a good value for money. If I’ll come back to Amsterdam, I would most likely to stay at this hotel again. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel due notti per un weekend lungo a settembre. Attaccato alle vie centrali di Amsterdam, ma fuori dal ******. Abbiamo girato sempre a piedi per goderci di più la città e l’atmosfera che si respira. Camera non molto grande, ma perfetta per andare alla scoperta di Amsterdam (a noi serviva giusto un appoggio dove dormire; durante la giornata eravamo sempre in giro). Il risultato è stato un rapporto qualità-prezzo buono. Se dovessi tornare ad Amsterdam, molto probabilmente ritornerei in questo hotel.

PPengguna TetamuAfter our Viking Rhine Cruise ended in Amsterdam, we planned to stay the night to check out the city. This hotel had the right combination of price, location, and amenities. We chose one of the 2nd floor suits which included a balcony for smoking. The room was located above the side street which was lined with sycamore trees so the balcony was screened by the branches—it was lovely. Noise level was not bad since this was not the tourist sector but it was still the city so it wasn’t quiet or dark. The room was spacious especially the bathroom. From the hotel we walked to the old city and passed several canals along the way. We didn’t wind up eating at the hotel but we did order from the bar and the bartender was friendly. The staff was friendly and called a cab for us in the morning to get to the airport. Would stay here again.

I was a little concerned about this hotel after reading so many bad reviews, but I decided to give it a chance, since the location and the price were so perfect. I was not disapointed. The staff was very friendly, the room, the sheets, towels and bathroom were really clean. I could point two negative things about this room: it was really small (which was no problem, I was alone) and my pillow was nothing but a folded blanket inside a pillow cover. Other than that no complains. Could definitely stay here again.
