The hotel grounds is clean, well kept and many walking paths with beautiful foliage. The food is excellent and the rooms have spectacular views of the Nile River and the city of Aswan.

The Basma Hotel Aswan is a mid-range hotel that offers a comfortable and convenient stay in Aswan. The location of the hotel is ok, with easy access to the city's main attractions and the Nile River. The staff are friendly and helpful, always willing to provide assistance and recommendations for things to do in the area. The rooms at the Basma Hotel Aswan are decent with comfortable beds. However, the rooms are a bit dated and could use some modernization. The bathroom facilities are functional but could also benefit from some updates. The hotel offers basic dining options, including a buffet breakfast that is decent but not particularly outstanding. The rooftop restaurant is a highlight of the hotel, offering stunning views of the city and the Nile River. However, the food quality and selection could be improved. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool and a rooftop terrace where guests can relax and enjoy the views. Overall, the Basma Hotel Aswan offers a comfortable and convenient stay in Aswan, with a friendly staff and good amenities. Not a luxury hotel by any means but a good sized room and bathroom, with everything working well in the bathroom. The room was a bit spartan in decor, but many of the views are just superb. The hotel is high on a hill at the south end of Aswan. Thus, it has a great view up the Nile and over the rest of the city. Breakfast is available here and at the related hotel next door just down the hill. Because the hours started earlier at the latter, that's where I ate. It was good, fairly standard breakfast buffet. The desk staff was friendly. You will hear the call to prayer from a nearby mosque, sometimes before 5am. The hotel is quite close to the Nubian Museum. Cabs are inexpensive here, but I walked to restaurants about 10 minutes away, again on the southern side of the city. It is a longer hike though if you want to get to central Aswan, but on a short stay I had no reason to go there. At not quite $100/night I think it was a good deal.

Not far away from train station (1km) and 400m from KFC (ferry point). 2, Room a bit old 3, no WiFi 4, Breakfast is good. 5, The reception has nearly no clue about the Abu Simbel tour. They will probably offer you private tour but you do have other choice. Try going to Hotel Philae (400m from Hotel Obelisk) and ask the tour there.

I stayed here as part of my G Adventures tour in Aswan for two nights. I had a single Nile-view room with a double bed, and a very large washroom. My room was basic but clean, and I had no issues with anything in my room. The hotel is centrally located, but if you're not looking towards the Nile the view is not very nice. The breakfast was simple but good. On our early morning trip to Abu Simbel we were provided with a breakfast box. If you cross the main street, there are some nice Nile front restaurants where you can sit out on their patio and enjoy a drink and a snack. It's in a central location and very close to the souk. All in all, I would say that this hotel is in line with what I expect for a budget 3 star hotel offering.

We travelled with Egypt Tour Portal and as part of our 5 star package, we were assigned this old, dated, shabby, dirty hotel. Claimed to be 5 stars, in reality a poor 3 star. We checked in and despite having requested a double bed, we were given twin beds. This was rectified by the intervention of the tour guide and the manager of the hotel. The hotel lobby is disgustingly dirty, the floor and the beautiful chandeliers are filthy. The AC vents in the ceiling had not been cleaned in a long long time. Our bedroom was old, shabby and dirty. The bed linen was shabby and the floor was filthy as was the furniture. The AC in the room was very poor. We dined in the restaurant that evening. A room similar to a large canteen. The food was appalling. I ordered a fillet steak and did not touch it. The manager did ask me was everything ok, but I failed to see the point to exchange it for more of the same. Our dinner bill for four of us was €150. Expensive! We were to receive a breakfast box on checkout as we had an early tour. No breakfast box was forthcoming. This hotel typifies what we experienced in Egypt. Tourism is the main income in this country, yet no reinvestment occurs in their prime source of revenue. This is a cash cow that one day will come to an end. Avoid at all costs.

This hotel is located in downtown Aswan close to everything. We were in one of their suite rooms that had 2 rooms inside with a bathroom with a huge jacuzzi. The staff was friendly. Check in was easy and the breakfast was excellent. We had the amazing view of the nile river and the city. Will surely stay here again when we come to Aswan
