If I could rate the staff only, this would be 5 out of 5. Everyone was professional, cheerful, and welcoming. The hotel is not managed directly by Hilton, so some of the amenities are a little below expectation. Our room (one bedroom suite with 2 double beds) was on the 3rd floor. Due to the space required for the HVAC ducting, the bedroom was noticeably smaller than we have experience at other Homewood Suites. Although we were warned that the area was a little ”sketchy” we did not experience anything out of the ordinary for a huge metropolitan location. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was ample and well presented.

Comfort Inns are a go-to hotel brand when I travel, and usually they are excellent. Overall, this one is good but some aspects are below the standard I’ve come to expect. The building and public areas are run down and showing age. The lobby and hallway carpets are frayed and dirty, the front door makes loud noises when opening (so much so that we had to change rooms because you can hear the door from rooms above), and the one tiny elevator is very slow. The rooms, though, have been remodeled recently. Brand new bathroom, furniture, fixtures, and bed. Some nice touches such as bedside USB ports to charge your devices overnight and a desk with extra plugs. The room has a strong microwave, which also has plugs for anything that might need electricity. The bed was very comfortable and nice to sleep in (after getting away from the noisy doors). The staff is friendly and helpful, and they are all bilingual English/Spanish. Wi-Fi service was quite good, 30M download and very stable throughout the property. The breakfast is definitely subpar, and features only highly processed food, the kind of things that have ingredient lists 2 paragraphs long. No eggs (either hardboiled or scrambled), which are standard at Comfort breakfasts everywhere else. The coffee in the restaurant tastes like it’s been there since yesterday. (But the coffee in the lobby is fine, so just grab some from there.) Overall – the breakfast is nasty and we avoided it entirely after the first experience. The location is great but access is a bit tricky, since it’s located on the 1-way Arlington Blvd service road. But it’s not a big deal once you figure out how to enter and exit the parking lot. There are many restaurants and shopping options (Target, Safeway, Home Depot) very close by within walking distance.

This was a mixed experience. What I'll say up front is that it appears that Hilton is not staying on top of supporting its staff at this location. The staff is wonderful - very kind, helpful, and doing their best even while they're constrained by (I'm assuming) being short staffed and not having the financial resources to take care of things that inevitably need fixing. There were some issues with communications around housekeeping, and then there were multiple snafus involving the key cards not working. The elevators were super slow and possibly some weren't functioning, so that really caused some challenges. Finally, the meeting spaces weren't labeled, so it was hard to know what workshop was in what room! They had these beautiful digital displays with no info other than our conference name. Lame! And then the conference meal service - I felt really bad for the staff, they clearly haven't been trained in how to cater to those with special food needs. Someone requested kosher, and they got a plastic wrapped thing with an apple, orange and banana in it! So....it was like that. On a final note, I can positively say the coffee served at the cafe is FANTASTIC! It was strong, hot, and delicious. And the cafe owners work very hard to give guests a great experience, so I encourage everyone to tip them well. :)

Hotel stay was far less than satisfactory and here are the reasons: 1. Some Front Desk staff didn’t know how the Bonvoy Ambassador hotel credit worked providing evidence many are poorly trained. a. The morning front desk member told me that he “just worked here” and the manager would arrive in a couple of hours to help me. No one ever got back to me. b. Requested manager support, not one got back to me. 2. Hotel room had: a. Collapsed cushions on the couch. b. Mold in bathroom c. Broken or extremely worn furniture. d. Torn and ripped window drapes 3. Billing was wrong and difficult to correct. Our family grew up managing hotels and I know that owning and operating a hotel is very difficult, this hotel exemplifies just how hard it is. I will not stay at this hotel again because there are so many other quality hotels in the area at the same cost.

(But the coffee in the lobby is fine, so just grab some from there.) Overall – the breakfast is nasty and we avoided it entirely after the first experience. The location is great but access is a bit tricky, since it’s located on the 1-way Arlington Blvd service road. But it’s not a big deal once you figure out how to enter and exit the parking lot. There are many restaurants and shopping options (Target, Safeway, Home Depot) very close by within walking distance.

If I could rate the staff only, this would be 5 out of 5. Everyone was professional, cheerful, and welcoming. The hotel is not managed directly by Hilton, so some of the amenities are a little below expectation. Our room (one bedroom suite with 2 double beds) was on the 3rd floor. Due to the space required for the HVAC ducting, the bedroom was noticeably smaller than we have experience at other Homewood Suites. Although we were warned that the area was a little ”sketchy” we did not experience anything out of the ordinary for a huge metropolitan location. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was ample and well presented.
