Puri Bagus Resort in Lovina is heavenly. Everything from the lovely, detached villa, to the infinity pool is delightful. We stayed a week enjoying the beach, pool, sunsets, spa treatments, cultural show, food and beverage, and surroundings. The Deluxe Ocean Villa is a stone's throw from the beach and is very spacious with a huge main room, ocean view patio, large bathroom and showers both inside and outdoors (in a secluded space off the bathroom). Spa treatment is excellent and very affordable. The outdoor, yet private, spa treatment setting is spectacular with a close-up beach view, and beautiful pools of water and fountains around you. Yoga class can be arranged with the resort's very talented instructor, also director of the spa. Yoga takes place in a special building with glass doors opening onto the beautifully landscaped resort grounds and Bali Sea. Breakfast by the pool is a treat and features all you can eat hot and cold specialties from a buffet. Eggs and other items made to order. The management and staff are exceptionally friendly, efficient and professional. Customer service is a high priority for this staff. In the surrounding area, we enjoyed nearby waterfalls in the mountains, and hot spring swimming parks, both in the mountains and on the shore. Cooking classes can be found at the resort or within walking distance at Warung Bambu Pemaron. Lovina is a fun town to visit (free shuttle from the resort in the mornings). We stayed at Puri Bagus in 2016 as well and thoroughly enjoyed our visits on both stays. With the south of Bali becoming so much more crowded and noiser, we prefer the peace and tranquility of the north.

The most incredible hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment you arrive this hotel is absolute luxury. The rooms are huge. The welcome gin and petals in the bath are beautiful touches. There’s a brown makeup towel which shows their attention to detail. Breakfast is ab unlimited a la carte with incredible food. This hotel is everything and more. Daily excursions and activities! They even help you get a scooter. I wanted to stay in the infinity pool and jacuzzi forever. My mind was blown by everything at this hotel. I’ll definitely be back.

The direction and road leading to the resort can be tasting especially at night. Narrow road and no streetlamp. It's a sanctuary by itself and it's excellent just to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Far from any amenities and it's inconvenient to move around. Private chartered car is a must; no Grab no Gojek; unless you take local taxi booked via hotel. Moving from room to lobby and dining areas requires much walking up the slope/stairs (cos the hotel is like perched on hil). You can ask for a buggy service (they have 2) and are subject to waiting time if many requests. Room was splendid and view was canopy. WiFi was strong. Room came with complimentary packs of chips and 3 cans of soft drinks. Toilet has no door and showering could be cold cos of air-conditioning. Breakfast was simple. Buffet spread of basic menu like drinks and pastries. One could order from menu. I find this was good cos less wastage Overall, resort personnel were polite and attentive!

Tucked away in a quaint village far from the maddening crowds in Canggu et al, this is a retreat to recharge and get away from it all. The property is architecturally interesting and the room is unusually vertical, designed as a treehouse, with a bathtub and open air relaxing area at the top. The infinity pool is surprisingly deep, and there is a natural cascading waterfall right in front of it. Absolutely hidden gem of a place.

Have a great stay here. The hotel is clean, the staffs are friendly; but as Bali is habitats island, so still will have some insects and leaves in the room sometimes. It’s acceptable. Very convenient location. It’s not as crowded as Canggu beach area but not too far from there. Grab only took around 5-10 mins to those spots.

I do wonder whether some people who have given this hotel negative reviews actually checked in to the wrong place. There were no bad smells. There were no loud noises. There were no flashlights shining in the rooms at night. The staff are unfailingly kind, helpful and polite. Yes, service at the Beach Club can be a bit variable but it is always gracious and generous - and the Beach Club is busy. This is a hotel that goes the extra mile. The staff open doors for you. They remember your name. There is complimentary fruit and macaroons in the rooms. Staff will always help you. I went to reception to organise some trips. The staff could not have been more helpful and my personal driver was also superb. The facilities are amazing for a hotel if this size. The gym is incredible. Private reformer Pilates anyone? Where else do you see that? The spa is absolutely beautiful and the treatments sublime. We stayed in a more basic room and were upgraded by Expedia to one with a patio. We were. Touch disappointed that there were no chairs on the patio which was small. Perhaps they could take out the planting and put in a bench seat? But the room was spacious, well appointed, with a massive bathroom. The design is minimalist which we like. Being in the reception/spa/gym building away from the pool probably meant it was a bit quieter too. Elsewhere, the Beach Club is pricey but that’s my only ******. There are places aplenty along the beach to the left and right which are cheaper if it bothers you that much. Breakfasts are plentiful. The lagoon pool is just sublime and at 150 metres long, a great daily workout! Canggu is a bit chaotic with building work and noise at the moment but this hotel is like a peaceful haven in the midst of it all. It is situated at the end of the road by the beach so no through traffic at all. We loved it and would (ie will) return in a heartbeat. We would thoroughly recommend it. THE BEST OF THE BEST. Komaneka is pure paradise. I'm 59yrs who has travelled to 35 countries and covered 20 States in the USA, so I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Komaneka at Keramas Beach was amazing. Their attention to detail was faultless. We stayed for 30 days and the quality of service did not slip once throughout our stay. The Komaneka's philosophy is to welcome you in as if you are family, but this is a big understatement. We were treated like Royalty for the whole stay. Every member of staff knew our names as we met them for the first time. All the staff greeted us when passing anywhere on the grounds, from the maintenance, cleaners to the restaurant teams. They worked constantly cleaning, sweeping and pruning all the lush tropical vegetation that surrounds the complex. The villas are perfectly designed, so nobody overlooks you from any angle or direction, giving complete privacy. They are equipped with big walk in showers and separate free standing baths. Big walk in wardrobe/dressing area and large comfortable beds. We had a view of the sea from our bedroom at the front and a view over the rice fields from our private infinity pool at the back. The onsite restaurant had an extensive breakfast and all day dining menu. We also visited 4 outside restaurants within a short walk along the beach to the east. Komaneka is positioned directly on the beach at Keramas. It has volcanic black sand that sparkles like diamonds in the sun and moon light, its totally magical. Komaneka is 45 minutes taxi drive to town of Ubud to the north and 45 minutes to the city of Denpasar. It was a perfectly secluded retreat for me to escape my busy life in the city of London. The spa treatments were excellent with easily to book availability. The warm swimming pool was an impressive 33 mtrs long. The management have pieced together a wonderful respectful team. I truly believe that most top London hotels should send their staff to Komaneka for training. The best of the best. SUKSMA.

Very strategic hotel location. I had been here before once for a quick bite at Kahuna and this time decided to stay a night with the family. We were greeted with smiles everywhere we went; the security at the front, the reception, resto and kitchen staff at breakfast, even housekeeping staff that passed us by in the hallway. The hotel itself is quite small, but the room was spacious. Everything in the room was great. Seamless Wi-Fi connection (attended an online meeting immediately after check-in with no issues), huge TV, comfy bed, plenty of power outlets (including USB ones) to charge our many devices, perfect water temperature and pressure in the shower, really cold air conditioning. We didn’t want to leave the room 😆 Great view from the Kahuna rooftop restaurant of Batu Belig Beach and the sunset. The infinity pool was also nice. It seemed like a perfect place to soak in some sun. It’s such a pity that it was windy and a bit gloomy when we were there, otherwise my son would be reluctant to get out of the pool. Breakfast was served in Kahuna as well; it was really great and had many choices, with a buffet and ala carte options. Everyone at Kahuna was very attentive and helpful. Parking is free, but the basement parking area is small, so if you’re planning on bringing a car, you might want to inform the hotel in advance, which we did, and were able to secure a spot. Overall, nice hotel and awesome people. Would definitely come back!

We stayed for 3 nights at the W Hotel Seminyak, located on a long beach. The ocean here was characterised by wind and waves in August, yet adding to the scenic beauty. The hotel did present the fresh, modern, and colorful design typical of W Hotels, reflected in both the exterior and interior decor. The rooms maintain this vibrant style, while the villas, which we finally switched to, offer a more elegant, wooden Balinese aesthetic. The pool area is a highlight, with its colorful design and palm trees creating a relaxing holiday vibe. Beyond, the breakfast was extraordinary, offering a wide range of freshly made dishes. From reception to service and management, we experienced a warm, attentive, and caring atmosphere that truly enhanced our holiday. Overall, the W Seminyak is a highly recommendable choice for a relaxed and enjoyable vacation.
