Oh Bangkok Hostel - Khaosan

Do not stay at this hostel. Especially do not stay at this hostel as a solo female traveller. This hostel will scam you, and the lead front desk staff is creepy around women. I stayed at this hostel in January and Eddie from the front desk offered to buy my friend and I bus tickets, and asked me to transfer him the money. I did so, but unfortunately the money never went through, so I sent him the money again. Once on the bus I noticed the money had been sent and deposited to Eddies account twice, so I reached out to him asking him to send one transfer back as this was a large amount of money, to which he responded "he had no idea what I was talking about". I have emailed multiple times over the past few months with no response. in addition to this, Eddie is is not the type of man a woman wants to be alone with. When I walked into the hostel originally, he was sitting at a table smoking with some guests and was almost too incoherent to check us in. The first sentence Eddie ever said to me was "what kind of underwear are you wearing" as he laughed with the boys at the hostel. Eddie also is known for telling solo female travellers about his "private room" in the back, and I even had a friend tell me she came back to the hostel after a night out alone and he kept offering to take her there. I am not sure of that specific situation although it would not surprise me. I do not recommend this hostel to anyone, I am very upset with this entire situation. I rarely make bad reviews but I had to make an exception for this.

Excellent hostel, great social area, but not crazy party hostel! Everywhere is clean and all staff are great! Would definitely recommend to solo backpackers, I made lots of friends here and there is a great space to socialise! They also run lots of different activities, such as parties, games nights and movie nights. Overall, great vibe!

This was my first experience with any hostel ever, so I was very happy with how clean and safe it was. Good door locks. Nice staff, really helpful and kind even when busy. Good smoke prices. 10/10 (double private room) Thanks for showing me that all hostels aren't scary places.

The beds are hard and feel like they will fall, the bunk bed has bars that poke into the mattress. The air condition is never on and when requested it hardly gets corrected or they turn it down to save money. We cant sleep in the rooms. The staff is friendly and they keep the place clean, the staff os great. The owner needs to make being comfortable a priority.

When I Arrived to Bangkok I was staying first at that hostel. Hostel itself is nice , nothing extraordinary but for a hostel it's good place to stay! Reception hmm ok but thing that unfortunately put shadow on that place (for me ofcourse) it's that smell of **** was everywhere, they seeling that on reception! Yes I know country legalizate that and many people find that more that interesting that you can buy there some stuff, and I really don't mind but if you are not smoker it's not place for you ! Total experience I describe as good !
