Sansal Boutique Hotel is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a location incredibly close to old town Chania and also the beach! It is a clean and modern hotel with excellent amenities. Our room had large glass windows on two sides of the bedroom, offering a lovely view of the sea! We also had a covered outdoor patio and sitting area to enjoy the view. The bathroom was large, and so was the shower. Breakfasts were plentiful; there was a large selection of food, and also a chef to make omelettes and other hot food options. The rooftop pool and bar were such a nice bonus! We relaxed there quite a few days in the afternoon, then easily walked to Chania or the beach areas for the remainder of the day. It was a fantastic location, don't think twice about staying at Sansal Boutique Hotel!

Every hotel staff was smiley, friendly and helpful. We received welcome snacks snd message in the room. The room was modern with air condition, high ceiling and nice amenities. Breakfast was buffet-style as and adequate. Location is very close to many shops and restaurants but without the noise. I enjoyed the deep tissue massage at their spa.
Enhancement areas suggested for Room 11: shower door does not close; the queen bed was two separate single beds put together instead of one mattress, and with separate bedcover sheets instead of one queen sized bedcover sheet; a kettle would have been useful.

Die Lage des Hotels ist definitv sehr gut und ein Plus Punkt.
Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und die Dame an der Bar hat uns ein Willkommensdrink gegeben. Das Hotel wirkt am Eingang recht hochwertig und man fuehlt sich gut aufgehoben. Ich würde sagen es hat kein 5-Sterne Niveau, aber so um die 3,5-4 absolut.
Das Zimmer das wir bekommen hatten, hatte leider keine Fenster (in der Beschreibung stand es gibt eins). Kein Problem für uns. Unsere größter Kritikpunkt ist, da es in der Dusche keine Tür gab, weil diese entfernt wurde. Somit konnte man leider nicht richtig duschen ohne Wasser nach außen zu spritzen. Als wir es beim Empfang bescheid gegeben hatten, gab es leider nur ein „wussten wir gar nicht“ und lieber ans klingelnde Telefon gehen und den Gast stehen lassen. Wer soll es dann wissen wenn nicht das Hotel, leider somit weit entfernt von 5-Sterne Service. Eine kleine Entschuldigung hatten wir erwartet, und das man sich dem Problem annimmt. Finde ich wirklich Schade, dass man so viel Geld und dann ein Zimmer bekommt, welches nicht dem Standard entspricht und eigentlich nicht auf dem gewollten Niveau ist um an Gäste vergeben zu werden. Zum Glück haben wir nur einen Tag hier verbracht und vorher in einem richtigen 5-Sterne Hotel die Woche verbracht.
Ich kann hier wirklich nur overall 3/5 Sterne geben.

The room was spacious and the hotel was super clean and extremely comfortable. Everything felt brand new and the service was really 5 star. We were happily surprised to learn that the indoor swimming pool is actually just a giant jacuzzi. We spent an hour there on our last night which was super nice. The bed is really comfortable and the place is quiet. There is a valet service for parking your car and we got welcome drinks and snacks on arrival. Thanks again for the free bottle of wine and fruit bowl as a VIP welcome gift. We really enjoyed and will come back to this hotel if we ever visit Chania again one day.

This is our third time at the Royal Sun and we just love going back to stay - it really is home from home. Like many of the reviews, the management and staff really make the stay so memorable. I have to give so much credit to Stefania and her wonderful team - from Eva, Emma and Maria on front desk right up to the fantastic super friendly restaurant team including Manta, Maria, Konstantina, Joanne and Harris. Sorry if I’ve left anybody out, but really they are all a wonderful bunch of people. Let’s not forget the housekeeping team too who are such a lovely friendly bunch and do a wonderful job keeping the rooms immaculate. The hotel is always super clean, the beds so comfy and the views - of course- stunning. We love the food in the restaurant at lunchtime too - so tasty with all fresh ingredients. You won’t find a hotel experience like this in Chania. It really is the town’s best kept secret. Needless to say, like so many people who come here, we will absolutely be back again. I cannot wait for next year, and thanks again for such a memorable stay.

Nice hotel with perfect location near bus station and old town. I really liked breakfast and want especially mention grissini, fresh fruits and vegan cheese. Coffee was from machine but it was good and enough choices. The view from our balcony was on inner ward, where were lots of pigeons, so also lots of pigeon poop everywhere. In the fridge were one bottle of water and two bottles of lemonade free of charge.

Hotel muy cerca del puerto. La habitación cuenta con todo lo que puedas necesitar. La cama y almohadas son muy cómodas, aunque eso es para gustos. En definitiva, todo genial salvo que el día que quisimos aparcar el coche el parking estaba lleno.

IIndia DBCute, cuter, cutest. Elia is the cutest. The sheets were comfy, the bed stiff yet plush. My wife enjoyed the balcony although the view was slightly over mediocre. The free, fresh cookies and eggs were a nice touch. The fridge did make brown noise but really, at the end of the day, I think it helped us sleep better (even though we had to wake up at 4:30am to catch our local bus to Heraklion to make our 9am Blue ferry—but this was delayed too). Good thing we remembered to leave our keys in the room.

1. Very new 4 room suites suite hotel.(since December 2022) 2. Interiors and finishing very high quality and very clean. 3. Next to harbor and walking distance to all interesting site and old town . 4. Breakfast is served at the sailing club , 100 meters away from location. You are allowed to choose from 4 sets of fixed options which for us was a bit boring to eat for 5 days, as the English breakfast was the only one that we preferred . Choice of coffee was limited to 1 cup of American coffee. It would have been better to offer just a bed option and leave us to choose where to breakfast from so many choices around the area. 5. We were told that Our suite, number 201, was on 2nd floor with no elevator so we thought that was acceptable but turned out that you need to climb over 48 steps carrying your own 30 kg case to your room 🤔😔.(BETTER TO CLEAR THIS WHEN DESCRIBING ROOMS) 6. They offer you a complimentary bottle of white wine and bottled water on arrival . after that you need to buy your own water. 7. When booking our room they say all rooms are Facing sea front but turned out the our room had a side view of the harbor. 8. For such a beautiful suite and offered free amenities it would have been good to provide tissue papers aswell . 9. The receptionist is not available all the time but you can reach by phone if you need them. 10 Car park available for hotel

PPengguna TetamuGlad we booked a taxi from Chania airport to the hotel through the hotel as the night porter met the taxi and walked us to the hotel, about 8 mins from the back road. We are so grateful for this as we wouldn’t have found it so quick and with a lot of luggage. Access from the harbour side is probably easier to find the hotel but further from any road or parking. He then took us to our room and the hotel up the alleyway opposite where breakfast is served and explained everything, excellent service and very friendly. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful. View from room and balcony was amazing, right on the harbour, with plenty of good restaurants and cars around. Sound proofing is good too with very little noise coming through at night. Comfy bed and good air conditioning. Beach towels available from reception with nearest beach at Nea Chora 20 min walk away and lovely. Breakfast is served up the alleyway in a sister hotel, not far. Self serving with most things you want fruit, cereals, nuts, yoghurt, honey, toast, cheese, ham, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, various sweet and savoury pastries, Greek specialities ( the stuffed mushrooms were very tasty). We didn’t use the roof terrace as we had our own balcony. Negatives - We were in Room 7 (only 8) , the wooden shutters do not cover the top of the balcony window and doors therefore letting in the light from sunrise. For those less mobile or unsteady on your feet, there’s no lift and no handrail on the curved stairs for the upper floors. But would definitely recommend.

UuuyiyWe stayed for nine days and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly accomodating and always very helpful. The location is perfect. Our room overlooked a quiet street and the hotel is five minutes walk from the sea front at the port so there is excellent shopping and dining close by. The hotel has been recently renovated so is modern and was very clean. The room was fine, the beds comfortable, there was a smart TV and the bathroom had a rain shower. My one complaint abour the room is the lack or wardrobe space for two people on a longer stay. There was just one tiny wardrobe. The buffet breakfast was very varied with a different selection every day and all was of very good quality. The cleaning staff were perhaps a tad over insistent on occasions and almost rushed us to leave the room after breakfast, but it was not a great inconvenience. We also managed to find a car park just a short walk away. I would certainly stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel before our check in time due to an early morning flight from Cyprus. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to leave our luggage behind reception until the room was available. We were given 2 free drinks vouchers to use at the bar while we waited for our room. When entering our fifth floor sea view room (505) we were amazed and delighted at the modern luxurious standard consisting of a large double bed, wardrobe with a safe, dressing table 2 comfortable armchairs, a coffee table, hairdryer and clothes steamer. Separate toilet cubicle and a very large rain water shower with all the accessories you would need during your stay which included bathrobes, slippers, shampoo etc. and weight scales which we didn't use 😁 On the work top was a coffee maker machine with pods, kettle and complimentary water, wine and soft drinks in the fridge Also on the table was a tablet with which you could view the restaurant menu and spa menu and lots of information for your convenience. The sea view from the large glass fronted balcony was absolutely stunning and breathtaking and we could see almost to the harbour. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent with plenty of variety from cold platters, cereals, pancakes to English style hot breakfast. Our only issue was the plates for hot food were not warmed resulting in luke warm food. We did take this up with the hotel and received an email the next day to thank us for bringing it to their attention. We enjoyed a dinner at the hotel one night which was reasonably priced and of good quality. The hotel location was a 3 minute walk to the sea front with a further 15 minute walk to the harbour and shops and restaurants. Overall this hotel was very worthy of their 4 star rating and we will be back.

PPengguna TetamuStayed in a female only dorm. Food is nice, low cost. Facilities are very clean. Staff extremely helpful. This is a very calm hostel. Lovely pool. Not all rooms have air con. No one tells you if balcony doors or windows are open- the air con switches off. Towel rental is €3. Only thing I can fault is they are very strict in no socialising in communal areas after 11pm- but for some people thar might be a positive

PPengguna TetamuStayed in suite with sea view. The view was amazing. The room was lovely, bed super comfy. There was a nice vanity table to get ready at. Bathroom was big and clean. The service at reception were very helpful. The location was great right in old town but not too noisy - music from restaurant in evening but I liked it and church bells on Sunday. I really enjoyed my stay here and was very happy with the suite. Couple of things to point out: there was no furniture on the balconies and aside from a pouf, no furniture in room to move outside. So meant nothing to sit on to enjoy balcony and it’s view. Also the curtain was only half curtain so to block out light need to shut the shutters which then restricts air. I didn’t mind but if you want darkness to sleep might need to bring eye mask. Like I said only minor things. Overall great place. Hot water - i mention as I know this is important to people :)

I can definitely tell you that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had, filled with nice people and great Greek weather. The hotel is located very conveniently, you have a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Lidl is just 5-7 min walk. Next to the hotel there was a great coffee shop- Move on. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop which will take you to Chania city centre for a nice promenade and a delicious dinner. Hotel itself is of an apartment style with amazing pool which was always well-maintained and clean. Every day the girls made sure that our room is clean and we have new towels, and they were making quite impressive compositions from flowers and towels😁 The manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and always dealt efficiently with any requests we had. Breakfast was delicious and overall our stay was extremely enjoyable. Definitely visit this hotel to feel the amazing Greek hospitality.

I arrived late at night so the hotel reception was a little tricky to find, and I was nervous since all the shops were closed and the streets were kind of empty but actually the neighborhood is entirely safe and right in the middle of all the action. I loved having everything right at my doorstep - restaurants, shopping, the old town center. The room was clean and actually much larger than I expected. Good wifi, powerful air conditioner, comfortable bed. Overall I had a great stay and highly recommend for anyone watching their budget but wanting to be in the heart of everything.
