Cari Hotel 4-Star di Chania

We had a wonderful stay, starting with the warm welcome from the owner, with lots of tips for our visit to Chania. It is a charming historical building in a central location in the old town, a short walk from the harbour, in a quiet side street. We had a spacious and well-equipped room with a very comfortable bed, some lovely complementary wine, other drinks in the fridge, as well as fruit and chocolates. Our room had a small, private balcony but we also had access to the wonderful roof terrace - a green oasis with views across the town. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Selected Suite was simply perfect! The location is amazing, and the room itself is unbelievable, everything brand new, with stunning design and incredible comfort. The space is large, with a beautiful terrace, a huge shower, and modern detail, the steam room was a big bonus after a long day.  Honestly, the decoration is so impressive I could happily live here. Everything was spotless every single day, it’s honestly one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. I felt so comfortable that I never wanted to leave. The team even prepared a wonderful birthday surprise for my partner, which made our stay extra special. Parking was very easy, the reception is available at all times and always helpful, and the cleaning ladies are just fantastic, smiling, kind, and doing an excellent job. A very special thank you to Ayu, who was absolutely adorable and made our stay unforgettable with her kindness and warmth. I recommend this place 100%! I cannot wait to come back. Honestly, I couldn’t find a single thing to improve everything was truly perfect.

The apartment was a 15-minute walk from the main city centre, the Old Venetian Harbour, the mosque, the lighthouse, cafes, and restaurants. It was also a 7–10-minute walk from Chania Central Bus Station. The rooms were a good size, and the bed mattresses were comfortable. The open-plan kitchen and living room were spacious and well-equipped. What I really liked about the apartment was the washing machine, microwave, and clothes drying rack on the balcony. Anna was very kind and helpful. She assisted us during check-in and whenever we had any other issues. We also had a nice chat about tours. The only things missing were toothbrushes and slippers. The apartment was cleaned every three days. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable apartment.

Absolutely stunning place in a perfect location just a short stroll along the sea front to the historic old town of Chania and the Venetian Harbour. In the other direction an even shorter stroll to the harbour and Nea Chora beach - which has a ton of bars shops and restaurants. Property is directly on the seafront in a real tranquil location - with a beautiful pool and incredible sea views everywhere you stood. The staff were fantastic and even contacted me on WhatsApp prior to my stay to arrange my check in. Had my room ready early - which was fabulous. I was incredibly lucky to have a suite with a hot tub right on the sea front - beautifully decorated, fresh, clean and the views from the balcony were incredible. I believe breakfast is included for all guests, which was lovely with a wide variety of hot and cold food drinks and pastries. The only criticism is of myself that I didn’t stay longer. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Reception staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was good, we got a free upgrade, which moved us to another one of their other hotels (Corissia Princess Hotel) which was nice. Housekeeping could have been more thorough, we left the towels on the bathroom floor and they were not replaced. They also did not replenish tea bags. However reception is quick to rectify. Hot water went out one of the days which was annoying but maintenance was quick to fix it. Pools, beach chairs, private beach area looked great, however we did not get the chance to use them as the weather was not great and the indoor pool closed around 7pm. Breakfast was good and the location was nice (not connected to hotel)

The hotel is very conveniently located 30 meters from the sea and has its own sunbeds. I had a room on the 1st floor (other rooms are different, I recommend to negotiate the 1st floor when you book). It was an almost perfect spacious apartment for 1-2 people. ”Almost” only because the kitchen is really basic, you cannot really cook anything more complex than a sausage. On the other hand, why would you cook even a sausage, if there are so many nice places with excellent food around? The bed, bathroom, furniture and everything else are all in excellent condition. Large terrace with a view on the yard and even on a bit of the see. The best part are Maria and Veronika, who keep it all in order and clean and kindly help you out with all your problems. Just do not be shy to ask. I had a very late flight home, so they let me land in another extra room until evening. Truly appreciate warm personal attitude which is impossible in bigger fancy resorts. Hotel was nice and all, location is great, however: - The walls are paper thin, you will hear literally everything going on next door and above, and if there is any sort of festival outside going on, good luck sleeping! - There is a vallet service as the parking lot is small, and the staff takes your car to a nearby lot if required. Staff scratched my rental car's driver side door during my trip, and although I had no issue as I had insurance, I did not get as much as an apology, even after they checked the security cameras and saw the car came in without damages.

The spa - hamam, sauna and indoor pool (1m deep though?!) is the hotel’s best feature. There is no beach access though, so I went to Nea Hora and Golden beach. Rooms - too small, lack of storage space, complex buttons and unnecessarily complicated console. It was quiet even though I was given a 2nd floor room. The overall signage in the hotel is confusing too. Beds and pillows - huge and comfy. Food - excellent. Massage decent. Toiletries good. Only frontal views are of the sea, but cost 10x more! Otherwise - trash can views!😤 A la carte breakfast - too slow, you eat less, always a misunderstanding… and after you order they take away the menu… Rooftop pool - a scam! Sunbeds always occcupied and need to be booked to see the sunset 🙄 there is another rooftop on 7th floor but after 10min you want to leave, because there are no showers, a pool, toilet or a bar… Staff is young, fakely polite, too slow and not very responsive - obviously trained for certain types of guests (culturally unexperienced). So even to get a locker in the spa you had to wait to be explained how to unlock it (and pass a test?!), even though there are two people at the reception desk. My coffee capsules, sweetener, and teas were not replaced the following morning during the housekeeping visit and a used glass was not washed. The balcony pool is tiny and got a lot of fluff from the street, plus I didn’t feel comfortable using it with it being visible from the street and building right across the street. I was also called at 21:30 (I was asleep?!) to check whether I was satisfied with a complimentary 30min massage (due to the poor room view)… 🤷🏼♀️ I understand that it is a new hotel and they are trying their best but I also paid 800+€ for two nights and was frustrated during 50% of my stay… 😒 I attended a high school for tourism and hospitality, worked as a masseuse, also and worked in 5-* hotels Chania 30 years ago, but stayed in a multitude of 4-5 star hotels worldwide since. Especially in Asia where the service is top notch. Therefore, all of this is not acceptable for such a high price. Yes, the welcome drink is nice, and so is the complimentary massage, but you should do better, Hilton!
