And yes—because luxury should be truly thoughtful—all of my bags were carried to my room for me. No fuss. No lifting. Just seamless, dignified care from arrival onward. Sri lanka was there all you can think of a tropical asian resort mixed with a taste of Africa is there Sri Lanka at his best. Very relaxing park. Spa and masaages are great and in wonderfull settings the rooms are very spacious. The bed is to die for. Bathroom are superbe. It s better than in the picture just to say. This property deserve to be lived for at least 2 nights if not more. Thanks to Hiruni for the great welcoming. All the staff are offering very good service. And thanks for the cable Ms Hiruni.

From the moment we arrived, the reception staff provided a warm and professional welcome, setting the tone for an exceptional stay. The hotel's architectural design, a masterpiece by Geoffrey Bawa, is both innovative and environmentally conscious, blending modern luxury with the beauty of the natural environment. Our room featured panoramic views of the Kandalama Reservoir, allowing us to wake up to the serene sights and sounds of nature. The property boasts three distinct swimming pools, including an infinity pool that appears to merge with the lake, offering breathtaking vistas. Dining at Heritance Kandalama is a culinary delight. The Kanchana Restaurant offers an extensive buffet with a variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes, all while providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.

The hotel is nice, spacious beautiful room at check in we were treated to a refreshing juice. There is a big pool on the grounds and a big jacuzzi with hot water in the room.  Minuses of the hotel: Far from the attractions. Taxi from the center only go there for the price of pick me x2. Hotel taxi are 3 times more expensive. There are no stores and restaurants near the hotel, so inside the hotel prices for food x3, Also after 6pm it is dangerous to be outside because elephants are walking around. Now let's talk about the premium status and the five races. In 7 years of traveling, this is the first hotel that did not have a bathrobe, slippers and toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. The plumbing in the shower leaks, and the doors creak so much that you could call the spirits at night. Regarding the attention to the customer. I mentioned my upcoming birthday in conversation with the manager, but this fact was not used in any way to show any form of attention from the hotel. This is a huge miscalculation on the part of the staff at a premium hotel. We also had a late departure and our request to delay in the hotel for a couple of hours was refused. This was not due to the arrival of new customers, as the manager offered to extend our stay for a fee. For future customers this fact may be decisive in their choice. In general, the hotel is not bad, but the service and flexibility of the staff, as well as individual approach to customers, does not correspond to the premium level and requires improvement.

Set in a lovely, peaceful location beside the Kandalama Reservoir, Amaya Lake Dambulla offers a relaxing retreat within a large property with plenty of mature trees, giving the resort a natural and spacious feel. The property features a good range of amenities, with the swimming pools being especially refreshing after a long day exploring the surrounding area. The buffet breakfast offered a comprehensive selection, catering to a variety of tastes. The chalets were clean and reasonably well maintained, and the staff throughout the resort were warm and friendly.

Abbiamo pernottato qui due notti per poter godere delle due attrazioni principali della zona. I ragazzi sono molto disponibili ed il responsabile è un giovane simpatico che ci sa fare! La posizione è molto tranquilla anche se non molto lontano dai locali. Camera buona e anche la colazione servita all'ultimo sulla terrazza che guarda sulla rocca. Di notte la strada sterrata è completamente buia e vi sconsiglio di andarci a piedi meglio se con una macchina o un tuktuk.

Kalundewa Retreat has an amazing concept and a beautiful, secluded location that really stands out. The surroundings are peaceful and unique, making it a lovely place to disconnect. That said, there are visible signs of wear and tear in certain areas, and some aspects of property maintenance could be improved. However, what truly made up for this was the hotel team — their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care, which added greatly to the overall experience. With better upkeep, this place has the potential to be exceptional.

Great stay here only for one night though . Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Bed was big and comfy and great air conditioning. Very close to the rock which is the reason to go.

This hotel is located in the forest within walking distance of Sigiriya. Since it’s in the forest, I expected there to be a lot of insects, but to my surprise, there were hardly any inside the room, and I was able to stay comfortably. I had booked for two nights, planning to climb Sigiriya Rock in the morning and then relax by the pool in the afternoon. However, it seems that the hotel has a policy of turning off the electricity in the rooms during the daytime. Although I asked a staff member to turn the main power back on and they did, it was soon turned off again. When the main power is off, the room becomes completely dark, and neither the Wi-Fi nor the air conditioner works. It was clear that even if I asked them to turn it back on again, the same thing would just keep happening. I felt it would only add to my stress, so I decided to move to another hotel.
