Hotel berhampiran Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, Basel

Ich habe eine Übernachtung in einem Einzelzimmer mit Lavabo gebucht - der Preis liegt aktuell bei 95,- CHF + 4,- Kurtaxe. Ich bin nicht in ein Hotel, weil ich Geld sparen wollte und die Schweiz im Vergleich zu Deutschland viel teurer ist. Vorteil bei der Jugendherberge: in der Buchung enthalten ist eine Basel Card, mit der sich kostenfrei der gesamte ÖPNV nutzen lässt. Außerdem bezahlt man bei Museen etc. nur 50% des Eintrittes. Weiterer Vorteil: die Lage der Jugendherbe sehr zentral, aber dennoch ruhig (nur, was das Stadtgeschehen betrifft), in der Altstadt ganz in der Nähe des Rheins. Man kann zu Fuß ins Zentrum gehen. Das Viertel ist idyllisch. Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Fenstern auf der engegengesetzten Seite zum Rhein, dort kühlte es trotz eines heißen Sommertages in der Nacht angenehm ab Noch ein Vorteil: das Frühstück ist recht gut, es wird bereits ab 6:00 bereit gestellt, und der Kaffee/Cappucino aus dem Automaten ist von hoher Qualität. Allerdings muss man für einen Cappucino außerhalb der Frühstückszeiten CHF 4,00 bezahlen. Ein Zimmer ohne Dusche/WC mit Lavabo ist problemlos, weil auf der Etage genug WCs und Einzelduschen zur Verfügung stehen. Und ein gutes Dusch-Badetuch war für 3,- CHF auszuleihen. Die Mitarbeiter der Jugendherberge waren sehr freundlich. Die meisten anderen Gäste nicht, oft wurde mein Gruß auf dem Flur nicht erwidert. Nun zu den Nachteilen, die für meine Bedürfnisse schwerer wiegen als die Vorteile: An erster Stelle die relative Hellhörigkeit. Relativ, weil die Bausubstanz in dieser Hinsicht normal erscheint, jedoch das Verhalten von anderen Gästen rücksichtslos ist. Zur Zeit meiner Übernachtung waren viele Familien mit kleinen Kindern anwesend, einige davon ließen ihre Kinder hemmungslos schreien (ohne dass Schmerzen oder Streit vorlag) - die Kinder schreien teils aus Spaß am Schreien, in den Zimmern, aber auch, weil es in den Betongängen so schön hallt, und wohl, weil die Eltern der Meinung waren, in einer Jugendherberge könnten sich alle gehen lassen. Ich habe diesen Familien nichts gesagt, weil ich aus Erfahrung weiß, dass das nichts bringt und weil ich nur eine Nacht geblieben bin. Aber ich habe es bei den Mitarbeitern zur Sprache gebracht, es hat sich aber nichts getan (das ist wohl auch für sie zwecklos). Ich selbst habe Basel besucht, um ganz viel Kunst anzusehen, und bin ein Typ, der ein Gästezimmer auch tagsüber als Rückzugsort braucht, um dann wieder loszuziehen. Die Eindrücke in dieser interessanten Stadt sind überwältigend. Dafür ist diese Jugendherberge nicht geeignet. Schlafen konnte ich nur mit Ohrstöpseln, und auch das nur unruhig. Leider kann man das Zimmer erst ab 15:00 Uhr beziehen - ich hätte mir nach der langen Anreise an einem heißen Tag gewünscht, mich schon etwas vorher ein wenig ausruhen und frisch machen zu können (aber wahrscheinlich wäre es ohnehin zu laut zum Ausruhen gewesen). The rooms are absolutely fabulous. I had booked the basic room and it was huge. Really affordable as well for the location. Although, it is still around 20-25 min walk away from the main tourist attractions.

A very simple, clean, and pleasant hotel. The rooms are very simple and basic, but quite decently comfortable. (Beware of a tub-only bathroom: murder to climb in and out of. Ask to switch if you're concerned.) The staff are extraordinarily pleasant and helpful, the grounds and setting are beautiful, the free trams swoop you around the city in minutes, and this may be the single quietest hotel anywhere in the universe. If you don't take breakfast, you can still pick up a free croissant in the lobby (wonderful little buttery explosions), but buffet breakfast is served within-rate if you take that. It's mainly in business as a hotel for small conferences, which is how we got there, and very convenient for that. If your conference serves lunch, you are in luck: THE FOOD IS AMAZING. We had three days and none of the Euro-American attendees could stop praising the food. -- So if you're used to the high life in big hotels, this will take some getting used to, but it's worth it.

Moin Folks, schon mal gestartet ohne zu wissen wo man nächtigt????? Soweit einem die Räder und der Saft tragen, fahren, nun bis hierher von Hamburg 14 Uhr bis 20:15 Uhr geschafft und das letzte Zimmer erhalten. Alles gut, der Empfang sehr freundlich und schnell, das letzt Zimmer im ersten Stock und gut, etwas klein, aber sehr praktisch und auch sehr gut isoliert, keine Nebengeräusche und eine sehr ruhige Nacht verbracht. Das Frühstücksbuffet vollkommen gut, hier war ich sehr zufrieden. Ach, Garage empfehle ich sehr, da die Parkplätze rund ums Hotel nicht gerade zahlreich vorhanden sind. Viel Spaß 😊

We booked in Basle as a return to when my wife and I were both there seperately in the early 70's. A chance to return to some memories. Chose this and found a comfortable, clean, modern and well run hotel. Easy to find as well. Met Carlos at check in, very helpful chap (thanks). Pity about parking to hotel distance, bit of a damp trek challenge in rain, but free for duration of stay and there is a drop off a short distance to the side. Could do with easy covered access from there. Got city passes so free bus and trams to scoot round on. Room was spotless, great bed and shower and mainly very quiet even on road side. Kettle too, a must for us English and our tea. Had a bit of search for a local restaurant, be good to have one in hotel for the weary traveller. Bar sadly closed 1st night. Breakfast was ample, all you can eat, and theres a facility to pack a breakfast to go. All in all very happy with our 2 nights, and would revisit. (For travel there is a bus then tram direct to city centre, and they run regularly).

We stayed here for 1 night as visiting basel as we were told it's cheaper to stay in France but when you add up the cost of travel it doesn't add up. My advise stay in basel and get a basel card as if you stay in a basel city hotel you get a basel card which gives you free travel on trams and buses and discount to museums We paid 50 pounds to stay here 1 night on a Saturday night but had we payed 100 pounds to stay at hotel in basel we would of been around £20 quid better off as we used trams busses and visited museums. Hotel is literally 1 minutes walk from the border of France and Switzerland can't miss it. The hotel is very basic small double bed quite hard but fine and little kitchen in same room. Bathroom was ok but like the room needs updating. Shower was fine pressure ok and water was hot. Never ate at breakfast so couldn't comment. Pool at hotel but never used so again can't comment. Check in wasn't great as door to place is locked so had to ring intercom for ages to get in.. The receptionist in the morning was helpful and polite. We got a coffee and a pastry from coffee shop nearly opposite the hotel. We got a cab from hotel for 17 euro to three countries bridge which we crossed from France into Germany then across another bridge back into Switzerland.

This hotel is in an area in a very busy shopping center. Traffic was horrific. Once there, we find out that we must park on the 6 th floor of the parking garage not attached to the hotel. Then poorly and missmarked descriptions guided us to take our luggage down to the 0 floor(but there is no 0 button on the elevator), go through the shopping mall, go outside and then enter another area and go up to another 6th floor to registration. The front desk said oh yes they knew everything was poorly marked and laid out but didn't seem to care. They said the traffic is always bad on weekends. It took over an hour to go 1 km, up to the top of the bumper to bumper cars in line parking garage, find space on crowded shopping elevator, go down to street, thru the mall and up to 6th floor registration. Lots of road construction in the area as well to compound. The rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely lit.

I had booked 3 rooms for myself and my family for 6 nights to visit the lovely city of Basel and the rest of Switzerland. Even though the country and city were beautiful there were a few things that were not acceptable. Firstly, I was disappointed that there were no complimentary water bottles in the rooms, unlike any other Marriott rooms I have stayed in. During our stay, Sarah was always kind enough to provide water bottles when asked which made our night. However when I asked for water again on our 3rd night via the Bonvoy App, someone very rudely rejected my request, as you can see in the below screenshot of the message from the app. It was not pleasant and made me feel very uncomfortable to ask for a bottle of water. Being a Platinum member I did not expect to be spoken to that way for a bottle of water. Secondly, on my last night, I spoke with Sarah regarding my F&B credit that I chose upon check-in and it was mentioned that I was entitled to 10CFH per person per room per night. I double checked if it could be accumulated and then used in one go and I was told I could, so I decided to have dinner with everyone on our last night. When I checked-out, a man who came from the restaurant and checked out my rooms, I confirmed with him if I could get my F&B credit applied and he said yes, he rushed my check out and went back to the restaurant. When I received my final invoice online a few hours later with only say 1 day's F&B credit applied and not all for the 6 nights I was led to believe I could have. I was told I could get 10CHF per person per room night which is 20 x 3= 60, 60 x 6 = 360 CHF F&B discount as per Sarah and that she would write notes on my reservation so that the discount could be applied. If you see my invoices attached below, only 20CHF was applied for the whole duration. Can you please apply the discount that I was verbally told and confirmed several times as I was ordering the food and as I was checking out and compensate/refund what was charged on my card? I am very upset that there was not cohesive communication between the receptionists, I was being given incorrect information every time I spoke to a different person at the Front Desk. Thirdly, I was only told by Sarah that my postcards would be sent complimentary as I asked how much it would cost, she mentioned it would be complimentary, yet I received a separate invoice for the postcards. I would not have minded paying however telling me it's free and then charging me is unfair and not truthful. Is it how Courtyard Basel treats all their guests? I would like to be compensated, if it was verbally spoken it would be, it should be free, not charged when I am not aware. Lastly, staying for 6 nights you'd expect the room to be cleaned not just tidied... however none of the water bottles that were finished and empty were removed from the room. for 3 consecutive nights, the empty water bottles were left in the room which by the time we left had accumulated into a pile o

I travel a lot and usually dont care about the exterior of the Hotels but the inside and staff is important. Worker at the desk was very polite and skilled when i checked in. When i entered the room... abt 300 Euro a night! To say its old to say nothing - like in the old good USSR times in Moscow, Sankt Petersburg, DDR side of Berlin! 40 years ago, what a nostalgic feeling, smell of old carpet, never cleaned AC. Had to open window to get fresh air insine. Paint art on the wall by Natalie Goller - Innenraum Rußland. Was für ein Zufall! For 300 Euro a night! First evening at the Restaurant i choose Wiener Schnitzel with salad and French fries 🍟. My first Wiener Schnitzel ever and never ever if this piece of smashed to 3 mm dry pork was the real Wiener Schnitzel then sorry... Only good thing was the salad. At the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Breakfast was outstanding, nothing special at the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Asked in the morning if they do laundry the answer was - no, but whae i asked again at the desk in an hotel for 300 Euro a night the lady called someone and repeated what he heard on the other side of the line - laundry is the responsibility of the guests. Means do your self At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Finally me and the lady on the desk figured out that the hotel does outsource the laundry to a third party company. Duration - few days, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Complimentary water only upon arrival, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Kettle, tea in room? Deam on! At the hotel For 300 Euro a night!
