Hotel berhampiran Stadion Schützenmatte, Basel

The location was very near to the train station, which is very ideal for travellers with big luggages. The hotel room was comfortable and the best part was that no travelling adaptors were needed. You can simply insert your electronic devices into the different sockets available!

Nach fast 50 Jahren wurde das Hotel Basilisk in der 3. Generation verkauft. Ein Hotel voller Geschichten und Anekdoten wird mir in Erinnerung bleiben. Als KV Lernende durfte ich meinen Abschluss und Einstieg in die Hotellerie Welt bei der Familie Cavegn machen und mein Weg ging immer wieder beim Basilisk vorbei. Die Schliessung als Angestellte mitzuerleben ist der schönste Abschied. Nach 24 Jahren Hotellerie ist nun die Zeit gekommen einen neuen Weg einzuschlagen. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

The service was perfect and I enjoy my stay. The facilities is ok and I enjoy the food too.

Everything is fine but just the room was small. We were most pleased with the free public transport ticket given to us. :)

i stayed in Dorint for 2 nights, late check-in, early check-out; all processes were fast, pleasant, room was perfect - not too small, squeaky clean, perfect lighting, good for work as comfy chair and desk + great wifi were included. superb breakfast (many milk options, great coffee), limited gluten free options for vegans, but otherwise great breakfast menu, good quality foods. very nice bar, delightful staff, great connection with city center/airport via public transport.

Vriendelijke dame aan het onthaal om in te checken. Mooie en nette kamer. Ruime badkamer met een goede douche. Snel warm water. Goede bedden. Airco aanwezig. Lekker, verzorgd en gevarieerd ontbijt. Niet ver van de autosnelweg en toch rustig gelegen. Je hoort niets van lawaai van buiten. Wij hebben hier overnacht toen we op doorreis waren vanuit Italië. Enig minpuntje: de barfrigo koelde niet.

Good location if you are traveling on public transport. We came from Colmar by train and the hotel is only a short taxi ride from the station. It is not an area for cafes, restaurants etc. as there is nothing around. There is a tram just up from the hotel and you can take this into the heart if the city. We didn’t as it was only an overnight stay and we were too tired. We contented ourselves with a snack from a machine in the lobby. The room was small but for one or two nights not a problem. Bed was comfortable, water hot and WiFi good. We left too early for breakfast so can’t comment on the food. The young lady on reception was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for short stays. Great value for the price we paid, AU$97.

I travel a lot and usually dont care about the exterior of the Hotels but the inside and staff is important. Worker at the desk was very polite and skilled when i checked in. When i entered the room... abt 300 Euro a night! To say its old to say nothing - like in the old good USSR times in Moscow, Sankt Petersburg, DDR side of Berlin! 40 years ago, what a nostalgic feeling, smell of old carpet, never cleaned AC. Had to open window to get fresh air insine. Paint art on the wall by Natalie Goller - Innenraum Rußland. Was für ein Zufall! For 300 Euro a night! First evening at the Restaurant i choose Wiener Schnitzel with salad and French fries 🍟. My first Wiener Schnitzel ever and never ever if this piece of smashed to 3 mm dry pork was the real Wiener Schnitzel then sorry... Only good thing was the salad. At the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Breakfast was outstanding, nothing special at the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Asked in the morning if they do laundry the answer was - no, but whae i asked again at the desk in an hotel for 300 Euro a night the lady called someone and repeated what he heard on the other side of the line - laundry is the responsibility of the guests. Means do your self At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Finally me and the lady on the desk figured out that the hotel does outsource the laundry to a third party company. Duration - few days, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Complimentary water only upon arrival, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Kettle, tea in room? Deam on! At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! What doesn't kills us makes us laughing 😆 At the hotel For 300 Euro a night!

We booked a room on hotels.com. The room we were given had nothing to do with what we paid for, and we changed rooms after given a dirty room with no designer lamps, and bed side lamps were missing. It looked like they were doing work in the room and last minute decided to move out because there was a booking. Terrible pillows, horrible blankets, not what normal respectable hotels would use, especially when you are promoting yourself as such. The management has deliberately put wrong pictures on the internet, because they only show pictures of one building, which is less horrible. The one we stayed in is only partially shown, but in actual fact looks like it is about to be demolished. Inside there was work going on, walls were dirty and virtually no decoration on them. Ceiling lights did not wok, fridge neither. We tried to have a coffee in the entrance of the building but a worker told us it was not working...went to mention it and got attitude back from a stressed out concierge, who had no empathy for people who are on holiday, having a bad time in her mismanaged hotel! We just asked for refund and left. Life is too short for bad attitude in hotels that lie to clients about what they offer. Disgraceful.
