This is a lovely hotel and setting, with fantastic walks and scenery on the doorstep, but badly let down by management on every level. Unfriendly check-in by disinterested member of staff. This type of service was usual throughout the hotel apart from Omar who worked extremely hard. It is definitely not 5 star, struggles to be 4 other than facilities. Poor service. Cafeteria /lounge is soulless and serves awful food. We ordered 2 different sandwiches, a gourmet and a bikini pastrami which were both absolutely tasteless, practically inedible dried up sandwiches. They can’t even make a decent sandwich or coffee! We decided to give it another try, choosing other options, again utterly, bland and uninspiring food. Also you wait forever for a drink or coffee. The gym has everything you would need and looks out on to the river which is picturesque, but really lacks maintenance and quite frankly needs a good clean. Water machine with no cups. Our room was nice, decent size, but again bathroom could be cleaner, shower glass was dirty, also mould around the seal, and there was a dirty towel in the room. The outdoor pool was closed yet it appears they charge 25 euros each if you want to use the indoor pool for one hour. This hotel could be so much better. It has everything going for it in terms of setting and facilities, yet sadly lacks quality. The management need to improve their standards all round, or sell it to a well established hotel group such as Parardor who would bring it up to the standard it deserves. Stayed for 4 nights.
