Very frosty reception from new owners. Have been in here a few times over the summer nice public beer garden on a sunny day. We are all locals from around Bude and used to chat to the nice bar staff on our previous visits. This time however we were just ordering a drink when a woman came of the hotel to warn us we could not use the parking outside the hotel, had to reverse the length of the terrace to get out and will never return whilst they own the place. We never had a problem with the old owners who were pleased to see a few locals in for a pint. No signs to say residents only very disappointed with our brief visit.

Hotel room smelt of something gone off! Having gone over to the windows to try and air the room, they had mold on and wet inside the panes. The bed and chair in the room were damp. Trying to persue a complaint is painful to say the least! Firstly quodos to reception staff on the phone who try to be as helpful as possible, because management are surprisingly rarely on site. They are not allowed to give out management's direct email or contact number. The investigation time of 7-10 days passed and finally after me having to make numerous chase up emails and calls. I got a disgusting response saying I was threatening their staff! This insult made me sick to stomach, how dare they. They made excuses in their email response. And didn't even sign off with a name. An absolute cowboy outfit!

I booked a nice local hotel, thinking it would be better than the Premier Inn round the corner. I booked a Superior room as my husband and I don't get a lot of leisure time together. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the beach bar next door is lovely. It's a short walk to the beach, with lots of nice bars and restaurants. Don't get caught out though, we arrived at 8:30 on Friday evening and everything closes at 9:00. Also take cash as some places don't take card. Back to the hotel, it is very tired. The restaurant has had several leaks through the ceiling and one place had towels on the floor to mop it up. Our room was certainly not superior. It was very small and the floor creaked with every step. The bed was really uncomfortable. The curtains were hanging off the rail. TheTV was half hidden behind the wardrobe and the bathroom was tiny. My husband is a big guy and wasn't able to sit on the toilet as it was situated between the bath and the wall. It meant him going downstairs to the disabled toilet. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was tasty, but I wish I'd gone to the Premier Inn.

We didn't stay here but we did pop in to to the outdoor bar for a few drinks. Could have easily sat here all day in the sunshine. Stunning views, lovely pizzas and great music. There was also live music coming on just as we were leaving. Nothing too loud just a nice chilled atmosphere. Even our teenagers had a smile on their faces and they are quite hard to impress these days.

Stayed for one night June 19th. We had a room on the top floor and the views were stunning! Situated right next to the Beach in a perfect elevated position. Lovely room, comfy bed and chairs positioned next to the windows so you can sit and look out at the views. Our room had dual aspect windows so we had amazing views, it was tastefully decorated and Immaculate. We had tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. The bathroom was big with a bath and separate walk in shower. We couldn’t ask for more. The outdoor beach bar situated next door was lovely too and has the same stunning views overlooking the beach and canal. There was live music on and it was a very relaxed vibe and a most beautiful Summer evening. Complimentary breakfast was served which was buffet style and again had everything we could have wanted. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and aim to please. We would definitely recommend staying here if in Bude, it really must have one of the best positions possible for a hotel. Great location in the centre of Bude, easy walk to many restaurants, a few shops & right beside the beach. Spotlessly clean. A good selection for breakfast, buffet style, replenished regularly & very tasty. All the staff were very helpful & friendly making the ambience of the place feel homely and relaxed.
