Ulasan An Lan Jie Hotel

I stayed for 3 nights. I didn't need any housekeeping, so I hung the 'do not disturb' sign. It would have been great if they had just exchanged the towels, perhaps by leaving them outside the room (I didn't see any staff and there was no opportunity to ask). Also, the envelope containing the receipt was labeled 'invoice.' For a moment, I was confused and thought, 'Wait, did I not pay yet?' Other than that, everything was fine and I had a comfortable stay. I would like to use this hotel again if I visit Chiayi in the future.

The hotel's location is very convenient, about a 5-minute walk from the train station. It's also easy to find. The bedding is very comfortable. There are tea bags and self-serve coffee. Slippers are also provided. The common area is bright and clean.

The bathroom is incredibly small, and I mean *incredibly* small. If you're a larger or taller person, it'll be quite inconvenient. Also, the soundproofing is really poor. We had just fallen asleep when the guests next door started shouting each other's names, and it woke all of us up.

Close to Chiayi train station, so transportation is convenient. I really liked the Elect Two-Person Suite; the room design was very vintage and cozy with a great ambiance. However, there was a strange smell in the room, like a sewage or mildew smell, which was unpleasant. The bathroom exhaust fan was also incredibly loud. The bed was comfortable, but I'd suggest updating the duvet cover. The whole thing looked like it had turned from white to grayish, which wasn't a great impression.

The place is quite comfortable and affordable. It's perfect for backpackers~ The common area is spacious, and the location is very close to the station, which is great for travelers using public transportation.

Stayed at An Lan again. You can rent a YouBike nearby, which makes it convenient to explore Chiayi.

The room was clean. I slept well. The location is nice, it's close to the station.

Great location, but no dedicated parking. There are plenty of parking lots nearby, costing about 240 a day. The hotel has a large and very nice common area. The 4-person bunk bed room was decent. However, the bathroom in the room was tiny, and there was no separate wet and dry area, which was quite inconvenient. Upon entering the hotel, there was a very strong and unpleasant odor, like leftover food or sewage, which was quite disgusting. The room rate wasn't bad though, around 2000 for four people on a weekday without meals.

I chose An Lan Jie Hotel primarily for its location, and it did not disappoint. It's literally a 3-5 minute walk from Chiayi Train Station and the bus pick-up point for Alishan . If you're planning an early morning trip up the mountain, you simply cannot beat this convenience. There's also a Family Mart right across the street and plenty of local eateries nearby . The staff were a highlight—genuinely friendly, helpful, and spoke good English . They provided clear instructions for self-check-in (the whole place uses digital door codes, so you don't need to worry about losing a key card) . I stayed in a private room, which was clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. The common area on the 14th floor is a real bonus—it's beautifully decorated, has a great city view, and offers free tea and coffee for guests . The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well . A few small things to note: the bathrooms are functional but can be a bit compact [7]. Also, be aware that towels aren't provided (you can rent one for a small fee), so you might want to bring your own . Overall, this is a fantastic, budget-friendly option for solo travelers or couples who prioritize location and cleanliness. It’s the perfect base for exploring Chiayi and catching that first bus to Alishan. I would definitely stay here again.

The location near Chiayi train station is very convenient for staying before or after a trip to Alishan. The downside is that our room, the Chunqiu Buran Room (standard double), had a very, very strong musty smell as soon as we entered. Even with the bathroom door closed, the smell lingered, which made for a very poor experience. I wouldn't recommend staying in this particular room. There were also one or two small gnats on the bed occasionally, so pest control could be improved.

The hostel is located next to train station. We paid a little fee to store our bags while to travel to Alishan for overnight stay. Overall good experience.
