The retreat is a perfect mixture of calm and adventure. Each room reflects the indigenous design with every element carefully chosen, right from the wood to the verandah in the bathroom, the private pool to the blinds at the Rapti Villa. This coupled with a team that goes above and beyond to ask you at every point about how your stay is going. I remember everyone from the chef to the receptionist to the GM checking on us about our stay. The food was a classic Indo-Nepali affair on Day 1 and a Japanese set menu for lunch on day 2. The jungle safari and boat ride were to say the least, breathtaking. We saw a herd of 6 rhinos with the naturalist giving us interesting tidbits about the animal and the forest. The evening was a cultural affair with the Tharu dance performance where we danced with the locals over scrumptious food. There's a lot to do and yet one can choose to do nothing. Just sitting at the lawns overlooking the Rapti is a wondrous feeling; self reflective, calming and symbiotic with nature. I've rarely seen a property that combines the beauty of nature in such a perfect setting and makes you miss it terribly once back. Meghaul Serai, A Taj Safari is one of those.

Chautari garden was the perfect place to stay in Chitwan. We planned to stay only one night and ended up staying for three nights. The service was great and very friendly staff. Great location and stunning atmosphere! Peaceful and relaxing.
