Enigma is miles off the beaten track and really special. Beautifully clean and light and airy. The bedrooms were superb and spacious. Elena and Anna were professional and very friendly and charming and attended promptly to all our needs and requests. The swimming pools and facilities were really exceptional and we welcomed the chance to lie in the sun after a hard day's cycling in quite warm temperatures. They laid on a tasty meal - most of us had Chicken Stroganoff- which was very tasty. Our waiter worked hard and efficiently to ensure we were well looked after in the restaurant. The breakfasts were extensive and well presented and tasty. The place was in such a remote location that there was no noise at night. The next morning we cycled off down a dirt track for several miles before we joined more conventional roads!

We were warmly greeted by staff and personnel who are clearly proud of Vilafoia and its surroundings. Very helpful in every aspect: finding/booking restaurants, arranging yoga lessons, tastings, guided (walking) tours, or any of the many other things to do in the surroundings. Henk and Michel did a great job in turning this place into an excellent B&B. The B&B location gives you a beautiful view which can as well be enjoined from the nice swimming pool or jacuzzi. We had room 9 which was very spacious, had a living space/kitchenette and a sleeping space. Bathroom with Rituals products and the kitchen had a large fridge and a Nespresso machine. From our balcony we could enjoy the beautiful view al the way to Portimão. High quality breakfast with fresh (warm) bread from the local bakker, everything you would expect from a decent breakfast and Nespresso coffee. And very important: we enjoyed breakfast everyday out on the terrace with again that magnificant view. During the day it’s possible to order small things from their “ pool menu” (like a toasty, fruit salade, etc) and around the clock you can get drinks, coffee/tea, crisps, nuts, etc from their well-stocked self-service fridge/station. Tip on an off-day: we grabbed a bottle of sparkling wine and enjoyed the experience from the hot jacuzzi! All in all a fantastic B&B experience. Thank you, Henk, Michel and team.
