So this is one of those small Indian places where the owner has renovated an old nasty motel. I'm pretty sure all of the photos here are from before the remodel. The remodeling work is nothing spectacular, but it's a whole new color scheme and surfaces are clean and in very good shape. Unfortunately this place still has pretty small rooms. The parking lot is a little awkward and there are now outside areas at all to enjoy -- not even a park bench. The first time I stayed I was pleasantly suprised - really liked the brand-new bathroom finishes and fridge....especially for the price ! Second time I was really disappointed in a less-than-adequate bathroom cleaning job and maybe not the best bedding. So...I dunno...overall, they deserve way way more than the two stars they're showing here. I wouldn't take a date or family here, but for the low-budget traveler, it's ok for a short stay. Close walk to a 7-11 and a few other restaurants. NOT a close walk to beach or anything else. I'm gonna give this an extra star in order to off-set the out-dated and unfair previous reviews.

Nice room with all sorts of facilities, clean, free parking, very friendly staff, large bed. All in all a very great motel for a nice price. I would most definately recommend this for a stay. There's a 7/11 against the motel and several restaurants nearby for breakfast, like a Denny's

Was in a very good location I liked the room a lot one like the room a lot wouldn't mind staying again the only thing is you have to put down a deposit which I do not like putting down the deposit I'm telling you I do not understand why they're like doing that but everything else was very good early good would stay there again

They only got 3 stars for service only because my son had forgot the room number when he went to get pizza it was our first day at that hotel . So he went upfront to get the room number and lady at front desk held him there and finally called my room and she said I couldn’t have anyone there that my booking was for one person which it wasn’t I asked her where my son and car were because now she has held him up so long I’m 25 min late for work she says she wasn’t gonna tell me which I was like *** ? So I went down there showed her my reservation that had two guests. I told her I had to go I was now late for work and she continued to try to hold me up I told her I would come by in morning after work she proceeds to tell me that she was gonna call cops on me for what I do not know but that my boss had to call in 30 min or she was calling the law . I told her that she was in the wrong not I or my son . My son tells me that she told him that she doesn’t rent to …. Pause looks him up and down and tells him people like u . Still I do not know what she meant by that he is a 21 year old kid he is white and has long hair so I’m not sure what she was referring to by that . What is people like my son white ? Cause he has long hair ? Not too sure but that was bothersome to me she said that .. But what I can say is that the owner or manager he called my son to apologize and told him she went to far it was for security purposes her not telling him what room but she took it too far and he made it right . It was a nice room big and very clean from the outside I they look a lil old but it’s surprisingly newly remodeled and spacious rooms

Hotel is clean. Room is small but relatively nice. Availability of laundry and dryer are good. Swimming pool is ok but rather small. Parking space is somewhat limited.

I noticed that this place hasn't been reviewed for almost a year so I wanted to post an update. I've stayed here three times -- once about a year ago, and two time in the last month. Definitely nothing special here, but I would say it's a serviceable motel for a quick business trip for the low-budget traveler. I think maybe it's changed hands in the last year...not sure. Furnishings and finishes are in good enough shape I suppose, but I wouldn't say it's been renovated recently. Pros: Walking distance to a number of fairly good restaurants, including Denny's directly across the street. Unfortunately, thank's to Monterey's *****ic planning people, Fremont St. can't be crossed here, so you have to walk down to the nearest intersection. Decent clientele. I've seen slightly rough characters here, but not the loser criminal type. Mostly a mix of low-budge tourists and tradesmen looking for an inexpensive stay. OK TVs, acceptable coffee maker, clean fridge, very spacious tiled bathrooms. Last but not least: it's literally steps from the Fairgrounds, so if you're going to a concert there, this place would be awesome. Cons: Difficult to walk downtown or to major tourist attractions from here. The entry from Fremont is awkward at best, perhaps a little dangerous at worst. It's too sharp of a turn, and it's really difficult to find the driveway on your first visit. The (ONLY) exit puts you onto Fairground Road and is super narrow, squeezed between the building and an autoshop. Visibility is almost zero, so you have to creep out super slowly and hope you don't get wacked by a car doing 45+ mph. No microwave ovens in room. Huh??????? Overall this is a great value when you consider the competitive pricing that they usually offer ($69 - $99) and that's why I'm adding a star. Just make sure you're ready for a ”no frills” experience.
