My experience at Villa Soleil Du Senegal was fine overall, but I wouldn't stay there again. First, there is no sign nor address on the building so it's extremely difficult for a taxi driver to find the place. Second, I had scheduled and confirmed an airport transfer with Aissata. It didn't show up and she told me to find my own way to the accommodation. This was unprofessional and caused unnecessary distress. I was left to find a taxi on my own, negotiate with him, and guide him to a building without a sign or visible address. Fortunately, Aissata had provided a cost estimate so that I wasn't completely ripped off, but this would not have been necessary if the airport transfer had arrived as planned. Third, the room that I booked was not available when I arrived. I was given a room with a shower that barely worked. Fourth, the breakfast only consists of a baguette, juice, and coffee. My stay did improve a bit. I was given the room that I had booked the day after I arrived, which was much better and had a working shower. There was a menu in this room that had breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, so a better breakfast is available for an additional fee. The family who lives on the ground floor is nice as well. Unfortunately, the beginning of my stay really tainted my experience and I wouldn't recommend it based on these hassles that should have been avoided. I was planning to return a second time after a few days outside of Dakar, but I cancelled the reservation and found a better hotel closer to downtown at a similar cost.
