Great location, very nice building, with wonderfully appointed common areas (esp liked the library). Friendly and attentive service and tasty food (recommend the afternoon tea). The rooms are well decorated, spacious and bright. BUT there is a lot of noise, primarily from internal sources. So insulation really should be improved. Everything is audible from the hallway and the pipes make a lot of noise when shower/bathroom is used in neighbouring rooms. This is not what I would expect from this level of hotel.

Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

Stayed for just the one night, and at hours notice on a busy Saturday night in November. The Hub Hotel is ideally located at the Haymarket for trains in and out of the city, and taxis and trams to head further in, but the rooms must be amongst the smallest going. As we were in town to head out for the evening, it was fine - but I wouldn’t stay here if planning on spending any great length of time in the room, or for a business stay and likely needing to work in the room. Likewise the bathroom was very small. Does what is says on the tin - a good base for heading out, but don’t plan on doing much other than sleeping.

There are many different restaurants and cafes nearby, and the transportation links are excellent, with a bus and tram stop literally a 2-minute walk away, as well as the Haymarket railway station. If you plan on traveling outside Edinburgh, this would be convenient for you. The hotel serves good breakfasts with a convenient serving time from 7:30-10:00, so you can always have breakfast in the morning and go for a walk. The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. We stayed in room 63, which was clean and warm (we stayed in February), and the room was regularly cleaned. As for the downsides, I can note the size of the room and bathroom. We booked a 25m2 room, but in reality, it did not correspond to the declared size and was very small, feeling no more than 12m2. This fact disappointed me. Therefore, I recommend always clarifying this point. - -Also, there was a small amount of mold in the bathroom, which was slightly unpleasant but not critical. -Hotel Pros: +Excellent transportation links; +Cleanliness and warmth in the room; +Friendly staff; +Nearby train station; +Nearby cafes and restaurants; Hotel Cons: Room size did not correspond to the declared size; There was a small amount of mold in the bathroom; Overall, I recommend this hotel as the price-quality ratio is optimal👍🏻.

The location was fantastic the apartment had everything that anyone could want it was absolutely outstanding in all departments and I must compliment Mr Davidson for the work that he has put into these wonderful apartments. The room is quite small but it is close to the city centre and lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel is cosy and staffs are very friendly. The car park is £10 a day which I personally think it is quite expensive. Overall, our experience is good with Leonardo Royal.

In all honesty we decided on the apartments because it was the cheapest available for a bank holiday weekend and seeing Harry Styles. It was great and no complaints and we were pleasantly surprised, it worked well having a bedroom then separate living area with sofa bed and mini kitchen for privacy & snorers lol. We initially thought it was the west end so bit far out from Murrayfield stadium/princes street but it really wasn’t that far at all and was a nice sunny day. Would 100% stay here again

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Edinburgh on a business trip this week. I was given the super king room which had a living room and a bedroom. There was also a huge glass window that overlooked the city. I was greeted with silk pyjamas, a bottle of whiskey, and a box of chocolates upon entering my room. The breakfast buffet was also good. I really enjoyed the truffle eggs benedict. Definitely worth the £1,068 a night price.
