Aja Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Was great to stay for long weekend with kids. Nice facility, pool, cafeteria, and easy parking "except" one unacceptably bad experience I had faced with a staff. He was working in the kitchen to make omelet and rudely complained about my English and refused to make omelet as I asked, with saying he cannot understand my English which is poor. This happening nearly ruined our lovely breakfast just by his rudeness. I just cannot believe that how come this happens in such international hotel. I have reported to cafeteria manager but didn't hear any feedback or follow ups on this.

Horrible experience, in terms of my second day stay and my experience in the restaurant. I was only going to stay in this hotel on Friday, and Saturday Sunday elsewhere. Given the Friday night well spent there and with a nice room, I canceled my original Sunday plan and booked one more night with Aja. I left the hotel then I came back. I was downgraded from 3rd floor inner circle to the 3rd floor street view room, after I complaint about the street noise, the hotel reception downgraded me even more from the 3rd floor to 1st floor a room in front of the construction site. I do not know what else to say, after telling the reception I am a light sleeper, really needed this vacation which I paid and deserve. She still two times, give me bad rooms. In the end I paid extra to upgrade from Mountain View Standard Room type to their Junior Suite type. I paid 50 euros. And after all, even though I am not getting a actual junior suite, I am glad that after all of these troubles I gone through, I finally get to have a room that is quite for my sleep and a place for my vacation :) So you need to know, they do have a very limited number of rooms that are good for an vacation. And you never know which room they will assign you. They have such different tiers and environment for all of their rooms.

Great hotel, but comes at a price. The hotel is modern and new, the facilities like the pool, outdoor pool, and Sauna are really good and clean. We went around Christmas and the prices were exorbitant though. Would recommend the hotel, but during a different time at lower prices.

Great location just a 5 minute walk from both the main railway station and the Zugspitze station. Additionally it’s just a 5-10 minute stroll to the pedestrianised town centre area of Garmisch. This is a modern hotel with attractive decor and fabulous wellness facilities - the outdoor pool was a particular welcome facility providing the option to swim with great views of the mountains. Breakfast was more than adequate and we found the pastries quite delicious. The lobby bar was very comfortable with the bonus of offering bar meals. It’s a shame the bar closed at 11 pm. We found the staff throughout the hotel to be extremely friendly and very helpful at all times. Our room was spacious with views of the mountain and good storage. Our only minor critique would be the layout of the shower. The ‘ open plan’ design saved on space but could be a hazard particlarly with children. Perhaps some transfers could be added to the shower screen? Overall we would certainly return here should we be in the area in the future.

The hotel is well situated for both the town, train station and just as a starting place for hiking. The room was modern and clean but quite compact. A bit disappointing that there was no safe and that they were next to reception which was rather a pain. Also it lacked any creams, moisturisers etc especially as it appears to be sponsoring Nivea. Even the body wash wasn't Nivea. Food was a very high quality but probably not the greatest choice. Only one choice of meat, chicken, beef or veal and the same fish every evening. Nice touch of a glass of wine each with the meal if on half board. The pool and spa area are outstanding. The saunas and steam room are large and not too busy when we were there. Overall a nice hotel with a few omissions. Would recommend.

This review was rescued by the great restaurant staff and nice breakfast. Great garage and the gate recognizes your car on some days but not on other days. Kind of grumpy front desk staff. Room: no thermostat for temperature control and no fan you can borrow in the hot weather, no safe, no refrigerator, no iron or ironing board and they don‘t have any you can borrow. Just a room - not a great place for a business traveler. Cleaning staff banged on the door even though there was a ˋdo not disturb´sign on the door. Won‘t stay here again.

We had a family room- front room with K bottom and twin bunk above, closet on wall, curtain closure, main room with K bed, very awkward little bath. No door, glass shower. Would have had no complains if it was just 2 adults But great little resort on edge of town, near olympic ski jumping center. Great indoor pool and spa- no fridge, no kettle, No AC, free breakfast included with our booked rate. (great spread, but not our favorite baked goods). Great walking location to shops and restaurants.

Ich habe den Aufenthalt im Oktober 2014 zum Geburtstag geschenkt bekommen. Leider musste ich zeitlich umbuchen, was für das Hotel kein Problem war. Der Service im Hotel war ausgezeichnet. Sämtliche Punkte, wie Tiefgarage, Spa und Wellness, Bar, Essensbereiche sind problemlos per Luft oder Treppe erreichbar. Alles sehr sauber und sehr gut organisiert.
