Heritage Hotel from the 30’s. Very nice hall, with a old fashioned taste. We arrived late in the evening (about 24:00), no concierge available at that time. Worst thing the room was very cold (14 degrees) and the heating air conditioning system was not working! Response from the Hotel staff was slow, trying first to pretend that the heating was ok and then after a long waiting, proposing a down-graded room, with some excuses... Then, after about half an hour, they delivered us a portable heater. Breakfast in the morning was below expectations, not well displaced, dirty tables and the staff again inattentive. Location is good for a walk in the old fashioned Shamian Island.

The location is perfect to discover the city for a long weekend. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool after a day of walk. Staff was very helpful to make our stay nice and easy, Scen was very patient to help me organise tours and find restaurant close to the hotel. They kindly provide a spare bed for our child. We definitely recommend this address!

A convenient hotel for a short stay on a glamorous, quiet island in the centre of Canton like Shamian. The staff are friendly and hard-working, but the hotel is simple and spartan. The advantage is the location and the walks along the floral avenues with tall trees by the river. Meals were taken in the many sophisticated restaurants with beautiful terraces next door.

Overall of room are good. Location in good area, easy to find restaurant and etc.

Lack of training and of skills defines staff working in most Chinese hotels -and I have been in over 20 cities in the country- but this hotel is really the worse that I visited in years. Staff are just clueless about everything you may need or ask and they have no manners at all...they are even unable to use the map that they give at the reception!. I was lucky to know Guangzhou quite well so I managed alone, but I was wondering how other visitors of the city can find their way around... After travelling to over 50 countries I would suggest hotel managers and big chains to take this aspect really seriously because it really damages the image of the country

Hotel location is very good for business travelers as well as family. We go for Canton Fair and hotel provide free shuttle service. All hotel staff is always helpful.

The location is located on shamian island which is wonderful. The hotel room is smaller because the hotel is one of the oldest hotels on the island. I loved walking around the island and colonial buildings are wonderful.

My Boss booked this room for me and what a great hotel on Shamien Island, so close to the Metro line, shopping street and just great vibes on this little historic Island. The included breakfast was simple but good...very clean and very good feeling in this hotel. Sleep was peaceful, since not many cars in the area.

Overall, this is a very good hotel in GZ. The service is friendly, helpful, and professional. It makes my trip to GZ comfortable and relaxing.
