Neemrana's - Deo Bagh

Usually a hotel is a place to shower and sleep, maybe to eat. Many hotels might try to market themselves as something more, but they are not. This hotel, on the other hand, really is something special. Beyond a place to sleep it is part of the experience. It is an historical Mughal sarai, tastefully updated, so you are staying in a very comfortable and well appointed room that dates back a few centuries. The gardens in front of the rooms are immaculate, while other parts of the gardens are rather wild. You will see parrots and you will see peacocks. If you are lucky, they will put on a display for you. If you are luckier, you will see Indian hornbills (we were lucky on both counts). The family that owns the property (Neemrana is just the operator) maintains some small temples in the grounds. We were (again) lucky to be invited in by the owner to join a ceremony. I don't know another hotel where that happens. By the way, the restaurant is very good, and high tea on the lawn (complimentary) is a delight. As so often in India, the area outside the front gate is quite different. Those not used to India might be put off, but it is quite normal. It is not too hard to get an Auto at the gate; alternatively, the very helpful reception staff are happy to arrange transport.

This is a beautiful snd characterful hotel set in spacious grounds. Our room was generous in size and comfortably set up. The staff were very attentive. We enjoyed a tour of the property on our first afternoon. High tea, served daily on the lawns was a pleasurable experience. The food served at the hotel was a real highlight. Every effort was made to look after us including assistance with special diets. We highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful property, well maintained, excellent service! We enjoyed our stay here. Lovely olace to relax, sit on the lawn sipping chai, looking at the peacocks or explore the property and also a good location to explore Gwalior and around .

The property is a heritage one but with all modern amenities. It is at one end of Gwalior and most of the places of visit are within 5 - 10 km radius. It was a pleasant stay with good food and ambience. They have huge lush green gardens, with peacocks and birds around, old temples inside the property. Rooms were clean and services provided were good. I recommend this place as a preferred place of stay in Gwalior.

Lives up to the Neemrana levels, and at a very reasonable tariff! Stayed 2 nights in July. A fine and well maintained property (at least for the resort area). Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Sleep quality is good. Food is very good - Breakfast was well-spread and top quality. Dinner a la carte was sumptuous and very tasty. Staff/Service is polite . The history behind the property is interesting. The overall area is quite large with only a portion of it being maintained for the resort. Probably they need to make the old cenotaphs and area around it more presentable. They told us they are planning more rooms and more facilities at the property.

Beautiful hotel. A very comfortable clean place. The food was excellent and the staff was very efficient and polite and very eager to please. The lawns are lovely and really enjoyed sitting out and having the high tea there. All modern amenities were available in the rooms.
