My wife, daughter, and I arrived at Venus Hotel very early because we had to switch modes of transport, which meant that we would arrive five hours early. We contacted Trip.com, and the hotel told them that we would have to pay 40K per hour until check-in time.
When we arrived, the receptionist charged us for the entire night's stay in one of their expensive rooms and insisted that we pay again for the same stay even after we showed him our booking from Trip.com.
We showed him our identification, and when I wasn't looking, he took our passports. We noticed that our passports were missing when we were in the room. When I went downstairs, he insisted that I pay again, so I said okay. He took my card, cloned it, and took pictures behind his counter under the table.
I went downstairs later to collect our passports and paid only for the night as I was becoming very irate. The room's safety situation is concerning; they removed the locks so that they have access anytime they wish. I requested the key to my room because I want my wife and daughter to feel safe when I'm out.
Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. Trip.com should address this issue. This is definitely the most dodgy hotel I've ever had the misfortune of visiting.
