Vy Da Backpacker Hostel

The dorm room has 10 beds that someone had the bright idea to screw all together (to the next bunk bed) so every time one of 10 people moved in bed, all the other bunk beds shake violently. The room seemed to have some humidity and mold problem. Some of the couches in the common area seem to have never been cleaned in 20+ years. I was bit by a bedbug when I sat on the couch in the reception desk area. Otherwise quite professional and clean.

Great location for solo travelers visiting Saigon! Good experience overall. Shower had no hot water at one point but just a temporary issue that lasted a couple of hours.

It is located behind the Quán Vỹ Dạ and located at the same shoplot with it which means the upstairs of the Quán Vỹ Dạ are the hostel rooms. The mixed dormitory is located at the 3rd floor and each floor have 3 bathrooms available for use. If the bathrooms are fully occupied at the moment, you may go to the other level for bathrooms. Each person is given a locker with the locker key and the card key, the locker can fit a 24inch luggage, 2 hooks on the left and right top sides and some spaces for other thing in which u may refer to the picture with the locker and luggage). Only 1towel will be given and u need to return the towel (exchangeable) with the keys tgt but I chose to use own towel. There is free pancake available on 7-9am and I see there is free beer at night but I have never tried it so you may ask if you are interested on it. So far, the hygiene of the bathrooms are well maintained where every morning have cleaner coming for cleaning. However, I felt itchy when sleeping on the bed using their bedsheet and fortunately I brought my disposable travel bedsheet to use and the itches stop. There are some mosquitoes coming into the room so you might get bite. Pro: strategic location, convenient for travel, easy to purchase drinks and food (can buy mineral water at ministop/strata food)(can visit to Pizza 4P’s & Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Thanh Market within walking distance), rooftop have dining area. Cons: the rooms at upstairs and the restaurant is serving customers at night at downstairs so you will hear the sound when you come out of the rooms or the sound sometimes may be quite loud if you’re near to it. Not suitable for those people who required to sleep quietly. Sometimes have mosquitoes, not hygiene enough for the bed/bedsheet - as I am very sensitive to hygiene as I feel itchy when the place is not hygiene. Overall, it is a great place with low price (RM20per night when I book) for solo travellers with not much criterion.

All the staff are very good, helping me carrying my luggage and taking me to another hotel. In addition, the hotel owner is very kind, just like my father. Moreover food here is very good everyone should try egg coffee and pho.If I had a chance, I would come back for sure

i arrived late in the evening as scheduled. the staff was accomodating but the bed they assigned me was occupied they tried to rectify it and im grateful internet is spotty in the room. you have to go out aircon is not working. when i entered the room it was like a sauna. will still recommend this hotel because of the accomodating staff but i hope the problems would be fixed.

Good value for the price you pay! Backpackers hostel with a good service and facilities. They offer nice breakfast and courtesy beer, that you can enjoy in the nice rooftop! In general the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is a good place for long or short term, you will see a lot of backpackers coming and going.
