When we arrived, our hotel room was downgraded by their staff. This seems to be something I'm experiencing in Vietnam as a black man. They see the color of my skin and automatically give me their worst room, regardless of the fact that I paid for a really good room.
After hours of complaining, they finally gave me the room I paid for. As if this wasn't enough, during my entire hotel stay, they did not clean my room once. This meant no clean towels or toilet paper, nor was the trash taken out.
Upon checking out, we waited for the elevator as the cleaners held it. We finally got down to reception a little after 12:00. The receptionist saw us waiting for the elevator, as every floor had a camera and the monitor was right in front of her. It was not communicated to us that we had to pay for a late checkout, but when we got to reception, they began charging us for every minute after 12:00. She also charged us for drinks we did not have. The rooms don't have any bottled water or any other drinks for that matter, but we had this random, unfounded bill.
I do not recommend this hotel. In fact, I do not recommend Vietnam, as this seems to be the culture.
