Located perfectly near Kyoto-Kawaramachi, this hostel can offer top service in every aspect: staff is very welcome and friendly, everyone speak great English and everything is clean. They have male and women only floors and also one that is a mix for everybody. Each guest is offered a locker that can fit a 203cm luggage and can keep your extra bags. Capsule itself is extremely spacious, as a 182cm male I could sit up properly in my space and still have room above me. Ventilation is okay and power sockets as well as good lightning are included. Toilets and showers are very well cleaned and maintained. Each day you are given a new set of towels and slippers, which is very nice. Guests here were well mannered and friendly. Overall I can say with confidence that this is a very good place to stay in Kyoto, totally recommend! P.S.: Gion is located nearby so that is also a plus. Note that this is not ”party” hostel

Stayed for a week here in total. I've been to more than 50 hostels around the world and this may be the best one I've ever been to, by many standards - one of the best for sure. So much stuff here is made in such a way that most hostels should take notes and copy. Big bed with plenty of space, automated mechanism to turn the bed to sofa, good ventilation there. Very fast internet. Dedicated tables for remote work with charging ports, and even a whole co-working area! Free coffee and tea. Silent beds area. Clean and comfortable bathrooms and showers. Huge space for luggage. Location which is very central. Convenience stores not far away. Great views from the lounge area as it's on high floor. So much stuff I liked! Can definitely recommend! The ONLY downside I'd say is that there is basically no lockers... So you have to just put your backpack or luggage in the area under the bed and it's not closed in any way apart from the curtain (which closes the whole bed area)... I know Japan is safe and all, but still, this can be kinda a major downside for some... There is a very small locker for valuables, but it's so small that only documents or small things can fit there. And also another thing - I mean, they designed the common area in quite a smart way, so travelers can potentially sit around one of the tables and socialize - but I can't say that this hostel/hotel is very social, people usually just work there. I've met some people, saw some people talk, but for most days even though I spend quite some time in common area - I didn't meet many people.

(I was so sure i also took pictures of the guesthouse but i totally forgot - all i habe to offer are close by shrines and Jiro 💗) I was in a 4 people mixed dorm on the ground floor. 🪲PROS: - well connected to both busses and the subway - A lot of Shrines in a 500m radius and both Ninnenzaka, Sannenzaka and Kiyomizu-dera are within walkable distance - Multiple Lawsons close to the guesthouse - Clean and nicely maintained facilities - locker and a few clothing hangers in every room - soap and shower gel are in every shower room - You‘re allowed to store items in the fridge - You can wash and dry your laundry for plenty cheap - the common room area is super nice and cozy and there’s also a smoking area outside (if needed) - all of the staff is very kind, relaxed and helpful and good at english - lights out at 11 p.m. which helps create a nice sleeping atmosphere - A BIG PLUS are Jiro (the owners dog that’s almost always at the GuestHouse) and the included breakfast (has options with meat, but also good to eat if you’re vegan or vegetarian) 🌱 🩸CONS: - not really a con, but remember to bring your own toothbrush/toothpaste and towel - if you don’t, you can also rent it for cheap at the GuestHouse! All in all absolutely loved my stay there. I was looking forward to the breakfast every morning and most of the guests were solo travelers as well, so i was able to meet some nice travel companions! If i were to stay in Kyoto again, i would definitely book a stay at this GuestHouse! ☀️

Fab capsule hotel! The only thing that I would change is how loud the blinds are but that was only a minor issue. The bathroom even had two rooms that were fully equipped with baths! I’ve never seen that in a hostel before. Great location, everything was spotless, the staff were lovely, overall 10/10. Thank you!

The location was good because it was near Omiya Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. It's 2 stops from Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. I was satisfied with both the facilities and cleanliness. All the staff were friendly.

Very clean and modern looking hostel. Drawback is location, but it’s close to Ryōan-ji and 50 min walking to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.

The hotel was in a good place near a grocery store and bus station. Staff was very polite and nice but my room wasn't cleaned even once The room itself was in traditional style which is the reason I chose this hotel and didn't regret it

So its very near the temples and attractions so thats nice. Also away from the kyoto station so consider that if youre also into that. The hostel allowed me to leave my bag before and after checkout so thats perfect. It is also clean and well maintained, though toilet locks can be a bit tricky. They also have a cafe below, then a place to hangout with people and strangers. Have small kitchen with everything in it. They dont have free rental towel so heres that but its fine. Overall i will recommend this to my friends.

We stayed at this place for several nights, but since there was no availability in the same room for our entire stay, we had to move between different rooms on different days. Overall, our stay was very nice. The rooms and hallways were clean, and the toilets and showers were cleaned daily. The service and the staff were excellent and very helpful. One thing to know is that the reception is not open 24/7. It is open in the morning until 11:00, and then again from 4:00 PM for check-in. Another important thing to know is that if you stay in a dormitory room, towels are not included and you need to pay extra for them. However, if you book any type of private room, towels are provided for free. Still, our stay went smoothly and we had no problems at all. Everything was great. The common area on the 4th floor is also very nice. The location is absolutely amazing, very close to the main areas, as well as the bus and train stations. They can also receive shipped luggage, which was very convenient.

This hostel it is clean, good location, even if you are 2 km from main popular street is easy to get around. The issues: you can’t really sleep here if u get snoring people as ur neighbors rooms. I ve booked 7 days but I had to cancel the lasts 2 because was really hard to sleep and I was having only ~4h sleeping. And at 7/8 am people are already moving and waking up and because of the isolation of the ceiling(pic) is very easy to hear absolutely anything, any little move. In the first night staying here, after a person snoring so much until 2 am , it woke up go toilet and after it put reels on big volume at more than 2 am, I had to go all the way to knock at his door bcz I imagine it was a guy. The single issue with the mixed floor is this, if you put a girl with only men and they snoring, that girl can’t have any good sleep, if u put only girls and some men but they snoring, all girls will get mad bcz I wasn’t the single one after the first day. In the last night the snoring man wasn’t in the room anymore and they were more girls I ve heard. So if this hostel wants to make a mixed floor then I think they can think of putting only young people with young people and older people with older. Or maybe only 1 floor women and another men and the rest floor mixed idk. They can think of something. Also , there is water dispenser only at 5 th floor! Why they don’t have one next to reception? All the people from down have to climb all the stairs for a glass of water everyday until 5th? And there is the sharing space only at 5th floor where is the water too but again, a person that needs to talk to phone and to not destroy other peace , has to go or outside the hostel or in toilets or at 5th floor… it is a bit of a struggle these things. And for the double rooms u can put a small electric kettle for morning coffee I think and a glass and a spoon. To not get all the way up to 5th floor, if it wasn’t complicated to get all the way up I would have gone to make coffee there too but I tried one morning when I was still not awake and it was a bit of a struggle. That’s all. Oh. And the beds are really comfortable and very soft, too bad I couldn’t enjoy a good sleep in them. And after I canceled the lasts 2 days I didn’t receive back the city tax:)) is not big money at all but details makes the difference.
