"The room size was barely adequate. The idea of having a separate vanity, shower, and toilet was good in theory, but the design was flawed, making it very inconvenient to place toiletries. The floor had a strange odorâneither pleasant nor foulâI couldn't tell if it was from floor polish or something else. I initially thought it was the smell from my own feet after a long day of walking.
The hotel claims to be eco-friendly, so many toiletries weren't provided, likely because there simply wasn't enough space. The service was mediocre; they didn't even replenish the bottled water when cleaning the room on the second day. After visiting several cities, I've come to realize that it's better to choose established hotels for good service and experience. Design-oriented hotels often look good but aren't practical.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location with convenient transportation access. Shopping is extremely convenient, with Takashimaya right next door and plenty of other places to shop and many restaurants. Of course, the foot traffic is enormous, and the street can be noisy at night, so those with light sleep should think twice before booking."

GGuest UserThe Kamo Delta is a hidden gem in Kyoto and this place is right on the correct spot. The room is fabulous with great bedding and quality furniture. Itâs more like a large studio apartment than a hotel room. Thereâs even a stove top, laundry machine, and microwave/toaster oven. The large window facing the river actually slides open so you can let the fresh air from the riverside into the room. My favorite was just watching people enjoying the rock crossing at the delta at sunset. Such a lovely spot and that I hope to spend more time at soon.
Location is super convenient to buses, a subway station, and Shimogamo Shrine - a UNESCO world heritage site that is just spectacular and very much undiscovered by the hordes or tourists that visit Kyoto (and I hope it stays that way!)

MMy WanderlistI had an excellent stay at Fauchon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The hotel staff were also incredibly attentive and polite throughout our stay.
My room was small but comfortable, featuring modern and luxurious amenities that were stylishly pink in colour and comfortable bedding. The attention to detail in the room was impressive, with thoughtful touches including a whole array of complimentary cookies and cake. Breakfast was served as a set menu and selection was limited and basic but expertly prepared and presented.
The hotel's location was also perfect for me because it is situated right in the heart of Kyoto yet away from the crowded spots with excellent access to public transportation. The bus station is right in front of the hotel, the nearest train station is about 10 mins walk and the hotel is approx 15 mins walk to Kawaramachi Street (shopping area). Just behind our hotel is the river and all the restaurants. Our room has the mountain view.

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

QQiangqiangmiaoGiven its non-cancellable policy, I hesitated for a long time when planning my trip, but ultimately decided to spend our last two nights here. We loved our stay so much, we didn't want to leave â I really should have booked it for our entire stay from the beginning!
Despite the lack of an onsen (hot spring), the bedding was incredibly comfortable. After a tiring day of sightseeing, sleeping felt like floating on clouds, which was pure bliss.
The photos really don't capture all the details. The bathroom was quite spacious, and all facilities were impeccably maintained. I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, which included options like stir-fried fresh mushrooms, Japanese chazuke, and Western-style dishes. However, the quality and flavor were undeniably excellent! They offered salmon sashimi, various other fish, bacon, ham, stir-fried mushrooms, and stir-fried chicken. For drinks, there was a good selection of fruit juices, and the fruits included grapefruit, grapes, bananas, and pineapples.
The location is incredibly convenient. Keihan Sanjo Station and a bus stop are merely 80 meters away. We were able to walk to various attractions like museums, Ninen-zaka, Sannen-zaka, and Takashimaya. Getting to areas like Arashiyama by subway was also very quick. It was surprisingly quiet during the day. At night, just across the road, the bars along the Kamo River were bustling with activity. Yet, we experienced absolutely no noise in our room at night.
The staff were exceptionally warm and friendly. When we first arrived, we struggled to find the entrance and ended up at the back door. By chance, we encountered a staff member just starting their shift, who personally escorted us to the front desk. Later, the front desk staff also personally guided us to the mother-and-baby room on the basement floor. These small details truly demonstrated the high quality of their service.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves.
When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service.
The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point.
There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

CCLHChanThe hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid.
We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens.
For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks.
We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive.
The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

LLinh CCould have give it 5stars if the bathroom is clean and not smell urine so bad. Others than that breakfast was awesome, Customer service was top not, location is perfect to go everywhere. Also they said they have bus service every 15 minutes to Kyoto station which is not true, we waited forever 1.5 hours or so, but they never came. We saw others hotel busses came by several times. I didnât confront this to the front desk tho. We was taxi everywhere and it was cheap, furthest would be 20 minutes taxi drive and about 3,000 yen which is reasonable.

KKC333We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow.
Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful
Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently.
Thereâs a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure thereâs enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private.
Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. Itâs not huge, but the space is well used.
Location wise, I wouldnât say itâs the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so itâs not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so itâs not middle of nowhere.
Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!
