The house located in a very good area, the room is very clean , the problem is that the house owner didn't welcome me in the begging because he didn't notice my booking, I didn't get the breakfast as he didn't prepare for me and for sure, there was no welcome fruit, I think better any one want to go there should call 1 day before he arrive

The hotel has spacious rooms, a rooftop pool, and a bar. They have various dining options, including their signature restaurant (Aduna Bistro). The location of APM allows you to start your exploration of JoBerg easily. Staff: 5/5 The African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel (APM) staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Welcome drinks, smiles, professionalism, and a great source for local information. All staff members were amazing. Special acknowledgments to Pretty and Mr. D!!! Also, a special shout-out to the lady who delivered the birthday gift to our room. Sorry, we never exchanged names! You know who you are! 😊 Staff makes your hotel; somehow, The African Pride got it right with their entire team. Hotel Room: 4/5 The rooms at the hotel are spacious and beautifully appointed. They have all the amenities you could possibly need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and spacious. The Pride, though kept well, was slightly dated. There should be some type of assessment of each room so that they are able to keep its mystique intact (it’s time to get rid of every DVD player in your hotel… It's ok, no one will notice) Hotel Grounds: 5/5 It’s situated in Melrose, so the hotel grounds are also part of the Melrose in a way though they do have a pool area, which is spectacular. They also have an amazing restaurant attached to them where you can pick up an amazing breakfast before starting your journey touring the sites in Joburg. Location: 5/5 The location in Melrose Arch is a huge plus. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance, so you'll never run out of things to do. Conclusion: 4.75/5 I highly recommend the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient stay in Johannesburg. You will surely enjoy your stay while you visit JoBerg. Things to be aware of: Power issues plague the entire country. Places like African Pride have backup generators to assist with making your experience more enjoyable. When you have temporary blackouts, it is because the generator is assisting to maintain power to the entire building. Anyone who blames APM for power issues should be more aware of the countries they visit. APM doesn’t appear to have a fitness Gym on site, but you have access to a nearby gym, which is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., I believe ( I could be wrong). Go to the front desk. This is my second time returning to the hotel after my first trip. They remembered my name as I arrived which shows great attention to detail with customer care. I upgraded to the suite for this particular visit and honestly it was a great decision. Look forward to visiting them again when I go back to South Africa in a year’s time.

The most friendly team and the best service ever!! I absolutely LOVED this hotel! Everything about my stay was 10/10. I checked in a little early and they found a beautiful room for me. They helped with my luggage and didn’t hang around expecting a tip.. which made me want to give one! The reception staff were so happy and friendly when I arrived and they asked a lot of questions about my trip and even where I live The room was a very good size, large bed like sleeping on a cloud. Shower with a window overlooking the city and a big bath which I enjoyed. The hotel is also attached to a beautiful shopping centre with amazing restaurants, shops and all services that you need. I ordered room service and they made me the most delicious omelet even through the breakfast service had finished. Breakfast the following day was also wonderful!! I can’t fault this hotel. They did everything right And MORE!! I would definitely stay again.

Disappointing. My husband booked an early check in and called the day before we arrived to confirm it. When we arrived at 11am from a 12 hour flight the unhelpful receptionist told us our room wasn't available and that we'd have to wait until 2pm. She told us to wait in the bar and she'd call us if the room was available any earlier, but of course we didn't hear from her until we went back to reception. The room was huge but the curtains didn't close properly and half the light switches didn't work. There wasn't a mirror near to a power socket so I had to balance on pillows on the bed to use the decorative mirror above. We won't stay here again.

Nice place...though the furniture could do with an upgrade. We stayed in the apartments...they're OK...but we had to keep reminding them about towels every evening when we got back. They knew we were 4 in each apartment but only left 2 towels daily. Additionally, It was cold and when we asked for blankets, some got, some didn't get.
