We had an absolutely fantastic time here during the 2023 Canada Day long weekend. This resort truly offers incredible value for families, especially considering that even with the resort fee, it is still more affordable than most hotels in Hunstville. We are already making plans to return this summer. One of the highlights of our stay was the pristine beach, which was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The sand was groomed every morning, adding to the overall appeal. The restaurant boasts a spectacular view of the lake, creating a wonderful dining experience. The water itself was clean and had a pleasant temperature for swimming. We were delighted to find a variety of watercraft available, and our kids had a blast with paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes. The pools were also well-maintained and exceptionally clean, offering a refreshing and enjoyable experience. It was convenient to have access to food and beverages at the beach, including hotdogs, soda, water, popsicles, and ice cream bars. Fishing at the dock was another activity we relished, and our children particularly loved the inflatable raft. The hot breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of options, including three different kinds of meat. The quality of the food for both breakfast and dinner was truly outstanding. On the downside, we did experience some issues with the management of the bar and restaurant. They seemed to be running at extremely low capacity, with very few patrons. The front desk staff advised everyone to make reservations at 8:00 pm due to a big party at 5:00 o'clock, which resulted in the restaurant being practically empty between 5 and 8. With proper management and experienced staff, the potential for generating significant revenue is immense. Additionally, the bar lacked any ambiance or music, which contributed to its emptiness. The patio has breathtaking views of the lake and was virtually empty during the day because of the absence of lunch service. Furthermore, there were no staff members available to take drink orders at the pool. We believe that introducing a few small supervised day programs for children would greatly enhance the Muskoka experience for families. This would allow parents to enjoy a meal, have a drink, or indulge in a spa treatment while knowing their children are well taken care of. The only notable disappointment we had was the removal of the arcade. As a family-oriented resort, an arcade would have been a huge hit with kids and added to the overall enjoyment. Despite these minor shortcomings, our experience at this resort was undeniably fantastic. We highly recommend it to families seeking a memorable and value-packed vacation.
