The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The gentleman at reception explained everything clearly and even provided us with a map showing the places to visit in Ottawa. Parking is chargeable at $25 per day, but it is very convenient. Both indoor and outdoor parking are available at the same price. They even provide a luggage trolley at the car park, which is very helpful when you have several bags. This is a well-managed, family-owned hotel. We noticed little thoughtful touches throughout the hotel, such as hand sanitiser placed outside each lift. The location is excellent, right along Elgin Street with plenty of eateries nearby. It is also within walking distance of ByWard Market and the Rideau Canal, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The breakfast was another highlight, with a very good spread including bacon, muffins and oats. Everything was hygienically packed and well presented. Overall, this is a very well-managed hotel with friendly service, a great location and thoughtful touches. Highly recommended.

This hotel is nice & cozy. Clean pool & gym, good breakfast. There is a small shop at Lobby. A supermarket “Food Basics” will be opening soon opposite the hotel, this is very good if you prefer to cook meals. Subway is just opposite too & lots of buses stop by around the hotel. Walking to China town takes only 15-20 mins where you can dine at different restaurants. We will stay here again next time when visiting Ottawa.

As a family of three, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, I definitely book again. Very close to shopping and highway 417. Hotel located in a very quiet area. I should thank Mr. Soheil at Reception who was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was also very good included hot/cold meals and fluits

Room cleanliness and air conditioning were good. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was simple but good in quality. However the breakfast queue was long and food replenishment was not done in pace with the flow, ended up in a long queue not moving as people stayed in the front of the queue stayed in the queue waiting for replenishment. The dinning space was insufficient that could not accommodate the big crowd. We ran into issue setting up the sofa bed. Calling the front desk asking for assistance we were stunned by a reply saying they would not send staff to help but urging us to try for another attempts and kept reassuring us the sofa bed operation was simple and easy. Finally we got that sorted out with help from other hotel customers.. A major disappointment that totally ruined my experience with the hotel was the way my enquiry was handled towards an unknown charge after I checked out. In the check out bill, it was just a charge billed to my credit card without indicating what service or item I was billed for. While my family did not order or buy anything at all from the hotel and we were in a rush, I did not check the bill upon check out until 5 days later I saw it in my credit card account. I sent an email to the hotel reservation (that was the only email channel I found from the hotel home page) to enquire about the charge and no reply was received ever towards my enquiry and that's what I was hit. Although the unknown charge was refunded after another week, I did not feel good with the way they work. I frankly accept mistakes made by the front desk or the account team for incorrect bill, but I do not accept ignorance and zero communication from the backend on my enquiry. This is something the hotel should improve.

The hotel is at the heart of Ottawa, right next to Rideau Center and Byward market. There are many restaurants and stores near it. The room is very clean and spacious, and the environment of the hotel is very nice.

We had a great stay. We got accommodate at newly renovated room on high floors. The location is at the heart of Ottawa, and it's very close to all the famous attractions. It will be even better when the renovation is done.

Safety: It’s next to a safe injection shelter, so no matter morning or night — be careful don’t walk alone! People are sitting/walking/wandering around the area which somewhat scared me. Parking: They DO NOT have enough parking, when I was there to check in at around 4, I was told parking was full. I need to park somewhere else. They recommend me to a nearby parking (which looks cringy — and people said cars got broken in last week) My car wasn’t a luxurious car so I was lucky I guess. Breakfast: It can get really crowded during breakfast time. Not enough seating. Food was okay though!

Great place to stay nice & clean not far from downtown . Private parking and room for 3 people was big with a big kitchen. I definitely recommend . Price is also affordable.

Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon.
