"The Funny Lion El Nido is probably one of the best stays in El Nido, especially for couples. The room was nice and clean, and they gave us a small honeymoon surprise when we checked into our room. The breakfast was great and the staff were all very polite and accommodating. They helped us book our island hopping tours and always helped with a smile."

"We had an amazing stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. They were available via WhatsApp 24/7 which made everything so convenient. Pau and Elize at the front desk assisted us with organising tricycles, renting scooters, booking massages, and answering any questions we had at any time of day. The room itself was always clean and tidy with a great view and bottled water provided. The location couldn’t have been better, it’s about a 3-5 minute walk to the town centre which was very convenient for making the most of our short time in El Nido. Overall, a fantastic stay with exceptional service — we will definitely be back!"

"Absolutely amazing stay in El Nido! The hotel has a breathtaking location with incredible views of both the beach and the surrounding mountains. Waking up every morning to such beautiful scenery was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for enjoying the beauty of Palawan. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was also perfect, with a great selection of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Everything felt well organised and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting El Nido, especially if you want beautiful views, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent hospitality. One of the best stays of my trip!"

"Sea view room is on the third floor, a few palm trees in the way but you can still see the sea properly. Breakfast at the restaurant facing the water, go early and it’s not too busy. Hotel guests can also use the pool and gym in the glamping area next door, though it’s a bit of a walk and the pool is on the smaller side. When I got there the sun loungers were all taken, so I ended up at the free beach loungers instead. There’s open water right there, so honestly it worked out better. The bathroom is narrow and shower only. If you don’t want to get your hair wet there’s a good hairdryer provided, which helps."

"It’s a great place, although the tour selling staff wakes you up by their inability to speak softly at the beach front bungalows, wifi is a 2/10 but tge bed is comfortable and the shower is hot. The staff are generally very friendly and polite but the beach bbq isn’t great, most meats and the fish is mostly burnt"

"This place is truly a little corner of paradise. It’s almost impossible to put into words how much we enjoyed our stay and how special this place is. The owners — an Englishman and a Filipina — are the perfect mix of warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail. They genuinely go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and are happy to accommodate almost any request, always in such a natural and unobtrusive way. The rooms are comfortable, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The air conditioning is quiet, the mattresses and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and everything you might need is provided — right down to shower gel and a toothbrush. The hotel is still relatively new and everything is in excellent condition. There are free SUP boards for guests, and you can also rent a scooter from the hotel if you feel like exploring El Nido for the day. And then there’s the food… that deserves a review of its own! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were fantastic. You can order fresh seafood, or even buy it yourself and have the team prepare it for you. My husband loves grilling, so we arranged to get some meat and had our own little BBQ evening. One of the staff members was genuinely excited to help and learn how it’s done — such a small moment, but incredibly warm and touching. My husband also wanted to go fishing, and the local fishermen were happy to take him along. Unfortunately, we simply didn’t have enough time during our stay, but knowing that such experiences were so easily arranged made the place feel even more special. That’s the beauty of a small boutique hotel like this. Unlike huge resorts, they can actually respond to the individual wishes of their guests and make you feel personally cared for. At the same time, there is absolutely no pressure to socialize. Everything is beautifully balanced: if you want to chat, there’s always someone happy to talk to; if you want privacy, you’ll have complete peace and seclusion. It truly feels like your own little paradise. If we ever return to El Nido, we will absolutely stay here again. Thank you to the wonderful owners and the whole team for such a memorable stay.
