I stayed at Loch Fyne for a single night as part of a solo road trip around the Highlands, so arrived rather exhausted, but quickly recovered after being welcomed by the reception staff. The hotel is beautifully appointed, and comfortable, and guests have free use of the spa facilities. I arrived a little too close to dinner time to make use of those (but will certainly do so upon my return) so can't comment on the quality of the spa, but dinner was sublime. I opted for a pasta, which was spectacular. The restaurant and bar staff were wonderful, and sitting in the bistro area with shafts of sunlight coming through the mist while sipping a glass of red wine was a feeling I know I'll not encounter too often in this lifetime. The room is a little traditionally-decorated for my tastes, but in perfect keeping with the rest of the hotel's vibe, and it was really comfortable, with a great shower. Breakfast the next day was another one I'll not forget in a hurry - kippers on toast, which is something I've not had in about two decades, and now can't figure out why. Friendly service, beautiful location, great facilities, and an excellent place to enjoy the slower pace of life. I decompressed wonderfully there.
