I stayed at Hotel Luminor Kota for a week and did not want to leave!!!! I have many dietary restrictions and Fatah went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of at every meal. Not only was the service exceptional but the food was out of this world!! Kezia and Anto were also so sweet and made me feel at home. This hotel has everything you could ever want from incredible food, daily housekeeping, hot and cold drinkable water, comfy bed, and the most amazing staff. I cannot remember the last time I received customer service like this. I am already counting down the days until I can come back! Thank you to the incredibly hard working staff at Luminor Hotel Kota!

I stayed in a single private ensuite as a solo traveler in January 2023. The room is simple and basic, but has air conditioning. A small blanket and towel are included, as is shower gel. The room lighting is a harsh white fluorescent light (which looks a bit different than the pictures on the website). I wish there was a small reading lamp with warm lighting instead. There are also no true windows in the room, and so it can feel a bit claustrophobic or trapped. The second floor has a nice common area with couches, TV, and bar bench with bar stools for you to do work. There is also a small gym with a few free weights, bench for bench presses, a rowing machine, and wall-mounted bars for pull-ups and dips. The hostel offers coffee and tea. I did not try the tea, and so I can't comment on it. The coffee is instant coffee. If you don't like instant coffee, then there is a Starbucks just a few minutes walk away. When I stayed there, there weren't many other tourists, and so it kind of defeated the purpose of staying in a hostel. Staff were friendly and helpful at all hours. The location of this hostel in Chinatown is excellent. There are tons of small mom and pop restaurants serving up delicious Chinese-Indonesian foods for less than 50,000 IDR. It is also a few minutes walk from the Glodok Transjarkta bus station, making it easy for you to travel around Jakarta. Overall I would recommend this hostel for its value and location.

The Room rate is amazingly low, however, it is value for your money… The facilities are quite good even bit older… The staffs are polite and helpful… Enjoyed my stay here… The location is quite good… 👍👍👍

Great location in the old town. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning reasonable and the shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. I didn’t realise at booking that the window in my room overlooked the busy Main Street, so traffic noise kept me awake for most of the night. The breakfast situation needs to be clarified. On their website there was mention of a new menu and several photographs. When I booked my room through their own website, it was unclear as to whether or not it covered breakfast. On my first morning, there was food cooking on the stove, but no mention of breakfast so eventually, I asked at reception. I was told that I needed to order breakfast the night before. It would have been great to have been told this when I checked in! The food cooking on the stove appeared to be for the staff. Not really a hostel atmosphere.

The hotel is average, the blanket and towels are dirty. I think the hotel cleaning service needs to improve this. Anyway, the price is cheap so it’s still okay. In the standard room there’s no kettle.
