Fun Beach Hotel

Fun beach is an amazing place , the ambiance amazing, the staff is amazing and the food is really nice .I would highly recommend it to anyone . 9/10

The location and view are beautiful. Each room has a little porch overlooking a pool and/or the ocean. We felt very safe on the properties beach. The rooms were clean. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the only restaurant is not good try and have another plan for meals. The rooms are each given one sheet (no blanket or cover) ? The rooms are small but honestly you won’t be in them much because the beach and pools are great.

This place might be showing as resort or maybe we have a different interpretation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar dining area was great . Our room on the other hand, no tea or coffee making, no hair dryer. The air conditioning was second rate, it took hours to cool the room down on a 32 deg day. Even worse when you left your room it was switched off…Also there was no cold water or anyway to have cold drinks in your room, except ask for a bucket of ice from the bar. Sand was an issue trying to keep it out of your room as the paths were all sand.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The hotel is just as it looks in the pictures, nice and the outside areas are well maintained. The rooms, are very small and quite damp due to the integrated shower. The pillows are damp, even ours were mouldy (we had them changed). The mosquito nets have holes in them (they were replaced with new ones) and the toilet has no ventilation. The safe box did not work and we were never able to use it. There are no amenities, they offer the same body soap and shampoo, no body lotion. The food in the restaurant is VERY mediocre and the staff speaks very little English, so it is very difficult to place an order with any intolerance or personal request (they almost never took it into account and brought the dish as it was on the menu, we ended up talking to the chef to clarify our intolerances), but in the end, for guests with any kind of intolerance/allergy, I would NOT recommend this hotel. The service in the restaurant is very slow, it took us about an hour and a half to dine, ordering only one drink and one dish per person. The glasses in the restaurant are made of plastic and very old. We do not recommend ordering breakfast to take away (breakfast box), we requested it the day of check out for 5:30am and it was not prepared, so we had to leave the hotel WITHOUT breakfast and without ANY solution, only an apology, even having paid for it as we had half board. To sum up, very poorly managed hotel with maintenance and hygiene/cleaning work to be done in order to meet the expectations of a 3 star hotel. We will recommend our travel agency to stop working with this hotel.

Perfect staying The food is absolutely delicious big bravo and thank you to Faycal the chef The service also is very good , all the personnel is professionnel and like family It’s my third time and I will go again and again. The room are very clean , the view is amazing. It was a really good staying

BEWARE!! Lets start with the good points: this hotel is amazing!! The facilities are the best we found in the area, the two pools are better than any of the other hotels, staff are generally amazing and very friendly and the food is incredible, and reasonably priced. The rooms / bungalows are cute and spacious enough for two people. I travelled with my friend, one of us had the main bed and the other had the sofa bed. The main bed is very hard so I preferred the sofa bed for this reason. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the whole hotel! The pool at the front of the hotel gets very hot during the day as it does not have the breeze from the beach, but is slightly quieter. The pool at the rear of the hotel, facing the beach is just beautiful. it slopes down like a beach so is deeper at the far end of each section and the infinity feature makes the water fall down the steps between the two levels of the pools....great photo opportunities. Now for the not so good points: the wifi and phone signal in general within the rooms is terrible, you will need to sit outside to maintain a good signal. It was hit and miss whether we would have working AC all day (especially in the evenings when we were getting ready to go for meals, or trying to sleep) as the power would fail. We were told this is due to the Government turning the electricity off; the hotel does have back up generators but I don't think the AC runs from these (I don't know how true this is, but we were told about the Government issue in multiple places). The main issue we had with this hotel was when we were trying to checkout. Thankfully we had hours to spare as we didn't have to leave until the middle of the night to get our flight so I tried to checkout around 9pm (leaving the hotel at 1:30am to go to the airport). During our stay we had eaten at the hotel restaurant, had drinks etc so we knew we would have some money to pay to settle the bill. However, the hotel tried to overcharge us by approximately $400. This included Government taxes (at $18.23 per night....which they later told our booking agent were only $2-$4 per night) and invoices for items we hadn't ordered. After having to get our booking agent involved at past 10pm on the evening, we finally got the issue resolved around midnight. However, I have a feeling we were not the first people they had tried this on and counted on us leaving our check out so late that we would have no choice but paid the bill. So whilst I recommend this hotel in general, please beware of the checkout and being over charged.

I stayed with my husband for 5 days in this hotel and it was just amaaaazing . I have zero remarks everything was perfect from check-in to check-out . The pool is exceptional, the beach amazing quiet and not crowded. The food is amazing at a very reasonable prices, and there is everyday a menue of the Day from the chef which doesn’t make you limited to what offers “la carte”. All the team members were outstanding with their beautiful smile and helpfulness. A very big Thank you to Mery amd Generosa from F&B team for assisting us everytime needed and unneeded ❤️ We will definetly come back , this is OUR place to be in Zanzibar ❤️ Sara and Mohamed room 8

Very nice hotel with amazing surroundings, great staff, great rooms and a beautiful pool area! Also the small towns nearby are super fun with some great food options. Definitely recommend this place — enjoyed it a lot more than other places in Zanzibar.
