The mattress and pillows had very bad smell like they had not been replaced for a couple of years. The food in Zing cafe at the lobby was just so so. The plastic table covers generally full of food debris without frequent changing. During the 7-day stay, the service at front desk, restaurant and for our room however was overall up to the standard of a 5-star hotel.

The hotel was picked for us by our tour company (Pristine Nepal) as part of a trekking package. We were allocated rooms on the high floors, which turned out to be great - little traffic noise. The rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast was pleasant - good food, spacious and not crowded with tourists at all. The views of Kathmandu from the sky lounge were fantastic. Restaurants were nearby, as were shops for trekking gear and souvenirs. We stayed an extra two days after our trek. The room tariffs were competitive, thanks to our tour company being a regular customer.
