Pros: - friendly staff - excellent initial layout - quiet Cons: - In the dry season the water in the resort recedes and leaves mud and puddles. - The thatch of the roofs is largely gone, leaving the hot sheet metal. - Due to the slanting roof, there is very little usable space. The rooms are fine for sleeping in, but not much more. - None of the staff speak English. - This 'Eco Resort' is 'Eco' in name only. - You pay for everything. E.g. if you drink the bottles of water in your room, you will find them on the bill, at about double the price in the shop. - As signposted all over the restaurant area, if you eat or drink something from outside the resort, you will be fined 100 Baht per item. The day we arrived, we notified the owner that we wanted to leave. We had some complaints, but our main issue was we did not like the atmosphere. We were the only guests and felt like we were trapped in the resort. We had booked a day in advance and paid on arrival for five nights (not so smart on our part). The owner did not want to return a single Baht. This and the way he communicated confirmed our feelings and we left the next day. The resort lacks true hospitality.
