Belle Epoque Residence

The Belle Epoque is one of the best apartments I’ve stayed in. Lovely modern furniture and spacious. Stayed a week 3 of us in the superior room and there was plenty of space. Everything was there on hand and there is even a washing machine and a tumble dryer to use. Very clean and the staff were really helpful Thank you

What a beautiful place, the apartment we stayed in was self catering we had three rooms one was a studio without balcony, studio apartment with balcony and family apartment with two floors but every apartment was spotless and so comfy and had everything you needed and if it hadn't reception was more than happy to help, there's a shop next door for snacks drink or anything else you need, there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel but your just a ten minute walk away from the square which not only is stunning, has beautiful architecture but so many bars shops and eateries, the locals are very friendly and more than willing to help if you need directions, it's a must place to go.

We stayed in a Superior One Bed Appartment. The appartment was very clean and equipped as per the description - there was no microwave and toaster on the description and true to their word these were not in the appartment. We ordered the breakfast box for three. We were expecting a little box each. What we received could have fed for or five people. It was a quality continental breakfast. We arrived after the receptionist had left. There were clear instructions on the desk about the out of hours number to call. We collected our door cards from a key box on the wall. As an added security measure the number of the key box did not correspond to our room number. If only the travellers who tried getting in our room around 2 a.m. had paid more attention to the remote receptionist. It turned out that the number to open our key safe was the same number to access the safe in the appartment. In keeping with its eco credentials the air con only works when all the windows and doors are closed. The bathroom was very nice with a bath, a shower over the bath and plenty of hot water. The bath sides were a little higher than normal. Something To consider if (like my mother) you struggle to get into a bath. The appartments are situated in a quieter part of the city but are ideally placed for getting to the Main Square and are a 20 minute walk away from the Jewish Quarter. A great appartment and I wouldn't hesitate in going back.

A beautiful apartment building with very stylish rooms, wooden floors and large windows which make the accommodation very comfortable. There were only two of us in the apartment, so we didn’t have to use the sofa bed which was very hard to sit on as a sofa, not least as a bed ( other Jet 2 customers have mentioned this) so I can only imagine that this would be extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. There were no English speaking TV channels ( not that we wanted to use them) so the TV was not used and the TV in the bedroom had been removed from the wall anyway, leaving the bracket visible, so we couldn’t watch it if we’d have wanted to. The kitchen was small, but has an oven, fridge and dishwasher. No microwave and very few utensils to make food. We chose the apartment so that we could make our own food after sightseeing and being out on trips all day, so this was sometimes difficult without the essential utensils like wooden spoons, etc. We have stayed in Air B and B apartments in the past which have been significantly better equipped and considerably less expensive to stay in, so this was definitely not the best. There was also no information at all on where/ how to dispose of any rubbish. We tried to separate our recycling, but didn’t know where to put it as there was no information at all in the apartment so had to leave it in the apartment which was not ideal. No information either about check out times, I did look on the Jet 2 essential information from my booking, but no information there either. You have to call reception to ask questions when it is not manned ( I think they are there during the day as we were out on trips and tours so did not see anyone), but because of this, and the most disappointing thing about this stay here was that we often forgot to call and order our breakfast which was part of our booking. This meant, because we did not call before 12 midday as stated because we were out on tours etc, we could not get a breakfast and had to leave early in the morning without having had anything to eat. Also, on the days when we did order the breakfast, it came too late to eat before we left, despite the person we called saying that it would be arriving by 7.30 am. It was sometimes there, in the reception as we left, just having been delivered in a crate and waiting to be delivered to our apartment. This is not ideal. All in all, the apartment was beautiful and very clean, comfortable ( bed was very hard), but I think that it would be a lot better if reception was staffed and you could ask questions about your stay etc. There was nothing at all in terms of hotel information in the room. It makes you feel like there is nobody on hand to help. We did not see anyone at all during our stay who was a member of the hotel staff, any cleaners, Jet 2 staff or any representatives. Krakow is an amazing city, but I think we might choose alternative accommodation if we were to come back in the future.

Ideally located within a 15 minute walk from the main square. The only thing we didn’t like was the difference in rooms. We travelled with another couple on the same booking. Whilst the rooms were both nice, one was quite a bit bigger, more furniture and better laid out so that was rather annoying. The reception desk was manned during the day and didn’t really need anything from them. There was a handy shop next door

The location is within a 10-15 minutes walk into the oldest medieval square in Europe. The Christmas market is illuminated very well with numerous hot food, hot beverages and craft/souvenir stalls and horse drawn carriage rides. The Tatra mountains is a winter wonderland at Christmas worth staying at, than the reduced day trip time due to 2 hours journey from Krakow and the same for the return. The Castle is only partially open over Christmas, with a fire breathing dragon to interest children. On our stay at the Hotel it was continuously warm, spacious, clean and the staff responded quickly to requests on our pre holiday questions and by a written request at night (as the desk is manned by day only). The staff were friendly and helpful with good guidance, especially as a Christmas short holiday meant expected museum tours were closed and also at short notice notification cancelling our tour to Auschwitz, their decision on closing was quite last minute. Obviously we can not comment on the air conditioning. It was quiet within the hotel during our stay. They provided cleaning kitchen materials. We did not use the TV as a previous review stated that English speaking channels were not available. Also, the electric ovens own operation instruction are in Polish. We had a nice nature Christmas wreath on arrival on the dining table and a small complimentary selection of satchets of tea and coffee (no sugar though) on arrival. Outside the hotel is a small supermarket chain, that was open over Christmas and displayed the changes of seasonal opening times. You can purchase many products as the locals use it daily and also flavoured local, speciality vodka to try. The room could accommodate a wheelchair user, but the only way in the building and to our floor was via stairs. Our room overlooked a courtyard to an adjacent property. We enjoyed our short stay, but our party of 4 required 2 adults to sleep on a hard, low level sofa bed, this was most uncomfortable (as also mentioned in another review) and is only really suitable for children. The hotel and Krakow even in cold winter months are worth visiting for a different atmosphere to share the local population's own Christmas celebrations (being always in Europe 24th on Christmas Eve) but be mindful of seasonal closures should you want to experience all other things in full, then it's best to avoid this time or visit in the summer months to see the Tatra mountains without snow. A lovely, memorable time in the Hotel and Krakow.
