Best stay ever. The dining area and the food was great; soft and comfy sheets; five minute walk to the Pilatus mountain trails; warm staff. Just perfect. Ps. That little cart that brings you up to the Pilatus-kulm and the hotel is free of charge if you are a guest. Normally you would have to pay. The hotel provides the guest with one ticket up and one ticket down so you cannot go down once you have arrived. Dinner and breakfast is included and they are both so so good.

Wir hatten 2 Nächte gebucht und kamen abends an. Die Seilbahn und die Zahnradbahn enden direkt vor der Rezeption. Zum Abend gab es ein wunderbares 4-Gänge-Menü, das man sich optional zusammen stellen kann. Zur Getränkeauswahl wurden wir ausgezeichnet beraten. Wir wurden platziert und hatten am nächsten Abend einen anderen Tisch. Wir hatten Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten den Sonnenaufgang vom Bett aus genießen. Das Frühstück ist ein Buffet mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Wir bekamen eine Tal- und eine Bergfahrt vom Hotel geschenkt. Den Steinböcken kamen wir auf 5 m nah. Der Sonnenuntergang ist vom höchsten Punkt aus einfach nur spektakulär. Der Aufenthalt auf dem Pilatus ist auch dank des "Kaiserwetters" und der vielen Fotos ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

Fantastic location but several issues: 1) Access to the room difficult to find once you leave reception 2) Room access difficult for elderly patrons. No lift from reception level, significant stairs 3) No iron / ironing board in room 4) No refrigerator / mini bar in room 5) “Welcome aperitif “ is a token event 6) Meals at table not served together. Some guests served about 10 minutes after others on the table had finished their meal 7) No porterage provided. Extremely difficult for elderly guests 8) Don’t quite understand bedding in Switzerland. 2 single beds pushed together doesn’t make a double unless you address this with appropriate fitted sheets or topper & 1 quilt (duvet) not 2. 9) 9

The most wonderful experience ever!! If you want the best view ever and have a place where you can relax and get away from everything this is the place. If it was up to me I could stay a whole week to just explore and get away from everything. The service was wonderful and the place is an adventure!

We spent one night at the Pilatus Kulm, and found it to be a truly unique and stunning experience. First, the room--a Junior Suite (there are three) was huge, very comfortable, extremely well-equipped, and had great views. Second, the hotel itself is quite modern and very well maintained. With the exception of the Victorian-era dining room, there is nothing but the exterior indicating it is over 100 years old, thanks to a beautifully-done renovation. Third, the food was outstanding. The four course dinner was superb, and the breakfast buffet extensive. Finally, the location is stunning. We had great weather, and the fact that hotel guests have the entire Mt Pilatus visitor's complex to themselves once the hordes of day-trippers leave by 1700 hours (and aren't seen again until about 1000 the next day), allowed us to walk the trails, lounge on the outdoor terraces with a glass of wine, and watch the mountain goats virtually alone. Both hotels combined hold something like a maximum of 100 people, and during our May visit there were only about 35. Watching the unset and sunrise was a truly unforgettable experience. One note: by booking directly with the hotel, we were able to get a package that included ascent/descent. Booking sites had the same prices for a half-board room, but did not include ascent/descent. Booking with the hotel saved us over 150 CHF.

the Hotel is world class. we had unobstructed view of the amazing Pilatus from our windows. the rides to ascend and descend were included. we dined at the beautiful Queen Victoria room. Nicole served us our delicious 4 course dinner with complimentary white wine. breakfast was excellent with many fresh and healthy items, fruits and tasty coffee. the room was modern and clean with comfortable bed, pillows and soft blanket. services were professional and attentive. for example, Stanislava emailed us several times prior to our arrival to ensure our check in was organized and gave us many great advices; Nicole was very attentive at the dining room for both dinner and breakfast. we really appreciated our stay and will return again. highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our train trip in Switzerland and really enjoyed it. The experience of staying overnight at the Kulm Pilatus far exceeds what an afternoon visit can provide. We arrived in the afternoon and spent the time until dinner enjoying the breathtaking views all around. In the evening, dinner was served at the Queen Victoria Restaurant, a beautiful establishment with an ancient ambience. The room was nice, the bathroom fine and the bed comfortable. Next day in the morning we got up very early to see the sunrise over the vierwaldstätersee. An amazing experience. Kulm is a really beautiful and historic hotel on top of the mountains and I highly recommend it.

Best view and hotel. While long to get to, the entire journey was an experience. You take a cogwheel through a mountain, staying at the highest hotel in Switzerland. The views and stars are breathtaking. And the dinner was absolutely fabulous and regal. They accommodated out many dietary restrictions and even gave us our dessert to go when we took long. Lovely memorable perfect hotel with unbelievable views.

This is experience was a once in a lifetime. 7000 feet up on top of a mountain. Being able to see sunset from so high up. Being above the clouds in the morning and just seeing the snow capped alps in the distance was incredible. The hotel had charm. The dining areas were beautiful. The rooms themselves were basic but comfortable. The ride up the Godola was so nice. I encourage people visiting and staying up at the hotel to take advantage of all that Mt Pilatus has to offer. From hiking to alpine slides to farms.... Get up there early and enjoy it all. The sights were amazing and made the experience worthwhile,

We wanted something remote, away from people, noise and crowds, just a place to relax, read a book in peace, do some hiking and enjoy the scenery. We got that and so much more, it was absolutely breathtaking and serene. The best part is in the evenings when the mountain is closed to public. Everyone there was so nice and helpful, I wish we could have stayed longer.

Sometimes location can make up for shortfalls and while this was a beautiful part of the world, and our room was reasonably comfortable, the service left a lot to be desired. To be blunt the food was simply dreadful. To accentuate this, after pre notifying the hotel weeks ahead and polite reminders on arrival and during dinner being served of a severe allergic reaction to cheese, they insisted on putting, you guessed it, cheese on my meal. After once again noting my concerns the lady " managing " the restaurant threw the plate onto my table and told me to eat it, that Ricotta was not a cheese. Google may say otherwise. After raising our concerns with the manager the response was ..." the ricotta is made vegan and is therefore not an animal product." Did they miss the point about allergic to cheese or is it just pure arrogance ? By all means take a wonderful trip to the mountain but don't waste your time or money staying there, particularly if you may have an allergic reaction to something as the staff simply do not care. Easily the worst experience of any hotel I have ever stayed at.
