I had an amazing stay for one night. I was able to check in earlier and the location was very convenient.. only 2 minutes walk away from the station and one minute walk away from the Kensington gardens, a very beautiful and big park. The only bad thing was that my hotel room was siding a construction site so it was quite noisy during the day. But at night it was quiet. Overall, I can recommend.

Room is compact and small but functional and daily clean up was good.
Lifts can be quite a wait during morning hours, so get a low floor if you don’t mind climbing the stairs, sometimes it is faster.

I recently enjoyed a several night stay at Strand Palace, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! The hotel is perfectly situated, making it incredibly convenient for exploring London. Really nice welcome from staff both at the concierge desk and reception. Even a glass of sparkling wine on arrival in some lovely cut glass 'vintage' style glasses. I'm not normally a sparkling wine fan, but I enjoyed this one. I'd love to know what it was but I forgot to ask! Room was very nice, and based in the more modern 'Barlow' wing. Not quite the historic side of building alas - felt very much the servants quarters of the hotel! But room had charm still, and everything is of an incredible quality. Also in the room was a really lovely postcard with a welcome message on it, and a St Pancras themed chocolate bar, utilising some of the mosaic patterns from around the hotel and station in its design. I especially liked the 'hidden' plug socket on the bedside table, which was in the perfect place for my overnight charging stuff. It was also delightful having a very large round dining table in the room, it was nice to grab lunch downstairs, bring it back to the room and eat it at a proper table whilst relaxing in peace and quiet. The windows in these rooms do not open, unfortunately. It would have been nice to have had at least a vent option available to us, but the A/C did keep a fairly consistent temperature. Platinum benefits ended up being a slight room upgrade, and late check out. It was originally 3pm, but I checked again in the morning and 4pm was now possible due to some early checkouts - this was a huge relief as that extra hour meant we could have a much more relaxing day as it timed perfectly for our onward travel. As a platinum member, I was granted access to the chambers club. Wow. Simply wow. What a space! Easily the best lounge I've visited. Absolutely super, the staff amazing too. I was just sad I only really got to experience when it was just about to close for the evening, and the breakfast, and not any of the famous early evening selections. At the time of writing (March 2023) the Chambers Club is open from 0700 to 2200 with Breakfast from 0700 to 1100 weekdays, 1200 on weekends. The evening service is between 1700 and 2000, and Hors-d'oeuvre are served from 1730 til 1930. (It is self-service between midday and 1630). At breakfast the next morning a bountiful supply of anything you could think of at a breakfast buffet. The only disappointment was the eggs. I think a kilo of butter went into every batch. But. I’ve yet to find a single luxury hotel that does scrambled eggs correctly at the buffet so I cannot judge too harshly. And when that D'Longhi toaster goes to 'small electrical appliance heaven', I hope it gets replaced by a Dualit. I went on a self-guided walking tour of the hotel in the morning too with help from some of the staff by way of directions. I’ve just visited the hotel (late June 2024) with my wife and 14 year old granddaughter. I paid, in advance, for a Junior Suite, for 2 nights, so as to provide our granddaughter with some degree of privacy. When we arrived at 2.30 after a 6 hour journey, we were told our room wasn’t ready but would be in a few minutes. An hour later, we finally gained access.
On the first evening we went to see Mean Girls at the Savoy Theatre, arriving back at the hotel around 11pm. After having a drink in bar, we went to the room and discovered the sofa bed hadn’t been made up, something we had become accustomed to expect would happen automatically, having stayed at the Victoria Hilton on previous occasions. When we phoned the reception no one answered. Reluctantly, we set the sofa up and used towels as a sheet. But during the night, I got dressed and went down to reception, as the room was cold and uncomfortable without a blanket. A young man assisted by getting a colleague to collect a blanket and two pillows, which were delivered minutes later to our room.
In the morning, I tried phoning reception, with, again, no answer. So, I got dressed, went down to reception and spoke to the young lady who supplied the keys the day before. She apologised for what had happened and assured me the bed issue would be sorted for that evening. She seemed genuine, so we left for some shopping, a visit to the V & A Naomi Campbell exhibition, an evening meal, arriving back at the hotel around 6 pm. On entering the room we noticed the bed had not been sorted, so immediately called back down to reception. It was busy, so I spoke to a young man at the Concierge desk, and having explained the situation secured a commitment, he would attend to the problem. Within 15 minutes, another young man attended clutching sheets, pillows and duvet and set up the bed.
Overall, I would say, the hotel is well located, right next to Shepherd’s Bush Over/Underground stations. It’s facilities are, pretty average, a bit dated and not a patch on the one at Victoria, albeit it’s more expensive. Our experience with the hotel’s service was disappointing and like nothing we’ve experienced before. No one from the hotel’s management made any contact but we did receive a voucher for a free drink!
So, based on our experience, I could not recommend.

Could do with a little refresh and wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in (hallways had strange stench) and a lot of paint was chipping etc. Modern enough room and the bathroom was really nice but when you looked closely the place definitely needed a touch up/revamp so that was a lil bit of a let down. No windows but not sure why other people are complaining as that is specified when booking the room type. Reception staff were very kind and helpful. I would stay again if I got a good enough deal.

The hotel is close to Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airport and the instructions for going to the hotel are clear, just about 5 minutes from the terminal exit near Heathrow Terminal 4.
Go upstairs via the lift to the level written 'hotel'.
The staff is very nice and they allow me to check in at about 12PM which is normally after 14PM without any charges.
The staff is friendly and willing to solve problems.
The room I got is really nice and see no dust or trash in the room. The bed is nicely tidy and all the devices in the room like tv, clothes iron and its desk, dryer, etc.
The free breakfast included for all guests is not very impressive but fair enough.
It's a buffet and it had bread, beans, bacon, sausage, etc, just a classic all-day breakfast you can get in the UK.
The check out process is simple, just drop the card into the box named Check Out and you can freely leave.

PPengguna TetamuBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
HHelenI was lucky enough to be able to check in early at midday and make extra use of the spa facilities, which was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was extremely clean. Breakfast was fantastic - one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Great location for attending events at the O2, especially with the covered walk way to the arena, direct from the hotel. The pool area of the spa is nice but looking slightly tired in places (one of the sets of steps into the pool was broken) and my room was well equipped (with an amazing river view from the 14th floor) but a little characterless. But over all it was very good. I'd stay again!

She went above and beyond what one would normally expect. The staff generally were very friendly and helpful. It was a pity that housekeeping were quite careless in providing the normal little extras every day which we found annoying having to ask for them. On the whole, I’d go back!
IIanOur normal IHG Hotel was nearly fully booked therefore the price was prohibitive. We therefore took the opportunity to try for the first time the Sutton Hotel.
All the staff that we met either on the reception or restaurant were friendly, helpful and professional. The Hotel has full amenities including swimming pool, and although we did not use any, except the restaurant, everything looked excellent. Our queen’s standard room was ok but there were a few marks and stains on the carpet, plastic cups in the bathroom, no box of tissues and few plug sockets. All these things are noticed in comparison to our normal hotel at Epsom Downs. It is however true to say that this Hotel had a very good restaurant on sight which Epsom does not. Therefore there is no doubt we will certainly stay here again in the future.
PPengguna TetamuStay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day.
I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.

The Pods make it super convenient for accessing T5P Room was very clean and had full coffee making facilities and nespresso pods and biscuits as well as water. Surprisingly dark and quiet even though it's next to the airport. Also easy access on foot to open country.
PPengguna TetamuWe use Royal National each time we visit London which can be a few times a year, in the beginning for location, (its a 5 min walk from Russell Square tube station, 10 mins from the British museum and 15 mins from Oxford Street) but now for its cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, this time we had a complimentary upgrade into a fresh new updated room, the beds are always comfortable and the room is always extremely clean nothing is a problem for the cleaning team and extras such as tea milk etc is always provided as soon as requested. The onsite pub is also a plus offering meals aswell as an outdoor seating area with large screen tv this time showing the euro matches, it wasnt loud or rowdy and being at the back of the hotel we heard nothing. We will continue to use the hotel for each visit we make to London.
CChris134I'll give this hotel top whack, this time. Check-in is always very professional and the TV was working! My only regret is only booking one night as the breakfast is so good. I was in a bit of a hurry and wish I ate more!
I sadly had to complain about some seemingly disrespectul guests in the middle of the night but staff were helpful in sorting it for me.
The hotel is comfortable and very well stocked, for the price, and is right near Paddington plus some excellent restaurants (including the Italians on either side just up the road) so very convenient. I hope to book again some time (I thought my last stay was last year but it was in Feb 😂). Thanks!
