Hotel Tribute Portfolio di Los Angeles

This was the third time I've stayed at this hotel (the first two were during the transition from Residence Inn to Burton House). All of my stays have been to have surgery locally & it was on my surgeon's list of recommended hotels with discount codes. I will say that the employees have always been friendly & it's nice being in a place that deals with surgical stays, so no one bats an eye if a resident looks odd, if extra housekeeping is needed, or if things need to get delivered. For this stay, something got borked in our request for an ADA accessible room. I should have called the hotel after I booked the online reservation since the online system said it couldn't be guaranteed. That was on me, but I wish the online system worked better for that because making extra steps for folks who need the accessible bathrooms & other room features is annoying at best. The room had a shower with a very low step-up as well as a small grab bar, but we really needed toilet grab bars as well as the extra space for someone to help me post-op with bathroom needs. Aside from the accessibility issues, the walls didn't dampen sounds from other rooms, so we were able to easily hear everything in the hallway (not the worst when you're waiting for food to be delivered as there's no room service) and everything in the rooms to either side (dishwashers, TVs, conversations, etc). There was one point where I was laying on the couch trying to rest after surgery and it sounded like someone was randomly hitting the wall as I could feel it vibrate. There were a few more minor quality of life things that we were disappointed in Burton House with. The laundry rooms direct folks to the lobby to purchase laundry detergent, but the little ”shop” only sells food and drinks. They don't sell detergent or any of the other little toiletry-type items most hotels have available for travelers. We thankfully were ok on that front, but found that out when we were trying to see if the shop had either mending kits or batteries. This isn't the end of the world as there is a grocery store a half mile away & it's pretty easy to have things delivered, but it was a hiccup when I was still freshly recovering from surgery & my sister was trying to duck downstairs quick for quality of life items. Overall, I would stay here again for surgery because the location is convenient and the employees were lovely. It was never easy getting picked up or dropped off by Lyft because of it's location, but was doable. Having it be so noisy after all the renovations though was really disappointing and if I come back to stay here for my last planned surgery, I'm definitely going to be double-checking about the accessible rooms (which from previous stays are at the end of the hallway) as well as seeing if there's a less booked floor to help keep the noise down.

One bottle of mineral water for 3 guests booking in the room! Front desk said this is as per State Law that only 1 bottle for 1 room! Room service needs 24 hours notice! Message of daily car park charges was not delivered clearly, we were charged 4 days x USD30 for zero use of overnight parking. Original charges was 7 days, hotel front desk took away 3 days and charged us 4 days, although this is out of goodwill, I still feel that this is badly handled.
