Hotel di Luz de Tavira

I stayed here on my first solo trip/my birthday. The hotel was perfect and the staff were lovely & helpful! They offered suggestions on places to visit and things to do. I even got a surprise bottle of prosecco and cake delivered to my room on my birthday morning! Very quiet & peaceful area, with so many places nearby (10 min walk or less) but if you don’t feel like exploring, the poolside area, spa & rooftop bar could be more then enough. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options too. 10/10 from me!

Esta ultima ha sido mi tercera vez en el hotel y sin duda la más decepcionante. Hemos ocupado dos habitaciones durante tres dias. Seis noches en total. El motivo de mi disgusto es que solo se nos ha arreglado la habitación en tres ocasiones de las seis contratadas. Nuestros horarios han sido dejar las habitaciones a las diez de la mañana, regresar a las tres y volver a salir a las seis de la tarde. En mi opinión tiempo mas que de sobra para tener las habitaciones listas. Lo comunicamos en recepción y la respuesta fue que había que esperar a las siete de la tarde que es la hora límite de la limpieza. Añadir también que una tarde sin avisar entraron en la habitación de mis hijos con ellos dentro y a nosotros nos despertaron llamando a la puerta. Como refiero es la tercera vez que nos alojábamos en el hotel y hasta ahora muy bien, pero esta vez no ha sido así. Pagamos muchísimo dinero en un hotel de cuatro estrellas para pasar tres dias, puedo entender que el hotel esté lleno, pero si hace falta más personal se le debe contratar.

The hotel is very clean, friendly and staffs are very welcoming, pleasant and attentive to the need of each customers. Rooms very spacious, airy and bright. Breakfast buffet is well stocked up and with plenty of choices for various requirements of clients. Swimming pool is a bonus due to extreme heat outside, water very cold and would appreciate the water being bit warmer. Vast car park is a plus, busy parking around hotel perimeter. The hotel was nicely decorated and designed. The pool area was very clean and a nice environment. The rooms were also clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower. Unfortunately when we arrived one of the rooms had an unpleasant smell. When we mentioned this at reception they said housekeeping would look into it, but nothing was mentioned further. We then found that the room door was faulty, and was not locking properly. When we returned from meals in the evening, we found the door ajar, despite being shut when we left. We mentioned this at reception, and again they said they'd look into it, but nothing was done, despite mentioning that we had valuables in the room. The obvious course of action would have been to fix it immediately, or move us to a different room, but neither was offered, which feels like quite a major issue. The offering at breakfast was good, and there were a few members of staff that were especially helpful and friendly in the Orangea restaurant. The food here was ok, but would recommend ordering simpler dishes. On the whole, our stay was enjoyable, but issues were not dealt with as they should have been, which would make us rethink returning.

Stayed at this hotel for the second year in a row following my cousin having his wedding here last year. I absolutely love this hotel. The food is amazing as are the services provided by the hotel. It has a very relaxing and peaceful vibe. Special shout out to the bartenders: Keegan and Pedro! They really took care of my family and I. They made us feel very welcome and well looked after. They are both very special and interesting individuals who I really enjoyed speaking to. I'm glad to have met them. They also make fantastic cocktails. Another special shout out to The Animation Team, they were tireless in their efforts to involve guests in fun daily activities around the pool as well as providing amazing entertainment in the evenings. They are all incredible entertainers and very good at looking after guests and getting people involved. They helped us create a lot of good memories during our stay here. The personal touch at this hotel is definitely there. Tavira Island is just a short boat ride away. You can also get a river taxi from the pier by the hotel up to Tavira Town. I love the vibe of this place and I think this will be a hotel my family and I will want to regularly visit in the future for our family holidays. I will definitely be looking to come back here next year to relax and have fun. Thanks Vila Galé Albacora, I'll see you next year!

Lovely hotel if a bit old fashioned in places. Was able to check in early which was a bonus. Ladies on reception lovely. Room On the 3rd foor overlooking salt plain with afternoon sun. Only 1 lift worked for most of week but didn't cause us any issues. Room nice although the small fridge was in wardrobe cutting down hanging space. Could have done with more drawer space. Water in fridge taking up room but charged if used. Free bottle of water on table on arrival was a nice touch. Room cleaned every day and towels changed if u left them on the floor. Breakfast was good especially the omelette cooked to order. Found that lots of tables were used but seemed to take ages to get cleared away. A couple of the staff just seemed to walk about just picking up the odd thing and not cleared full table. A few times the food was empty but just had to wait for them to get replenish. Lots of sunbeds available might have been due to the high number of golf parties staying at the time. Pool towels available from the spa. Overrun with pigeons although they were putting wires up over the pool while we were there. Pool icy cold only a few brave people went in. Spa pool slightly warmer. Jacuzzi but not very good was expecting bubbles not just a couple of jets. Had to wear shower caps which were 4e each. Bar service long wait to be served needed more staff the two people serving were run off there feet. Tavira was lovely with good choice of restaurants both sides of river. Loved Nikatas just in a little side street but needed to book in advance. Visited the nearby indoor local market lots of fresh fish and veg. Went on the land train which was well worth it if very bumpy over the cobbles. Used the ferry to the beach for a couple of hours. Stunning beach which went on for miles. Fab weather. Would we return... Probably if wanting to visit Tavira again

Nos gustó el hotel, habitación correcta y un punto a su favor la piscina cubierta

Hotel was very close to the beach with bars and shops within easy distance. A lovely decorated foyer area with good helpful staff. Room was adequate but not large. A small balcony overlooked the road and a side view to the beach. beds were good and the only down side was there were no hot drink making faciklities. It had 2 lifts, one of which was out of action for our stay, this wasnt really an isue as the hotel didnt seem that busy, nut could be a bigger problem when it was. Room was attended to and beds made every day. I thought the restaurant was lovely well set out and not to busy, although it was just out of season. The restaurant staff were probably the most attentive I have yet to see in a hotel. always smiling and removing used plates and utensils quickly. Breakfast was a good a great choice of prepared fresh and tinned fruits, a small choice of hot food, yogurts, pastries, cooked meats etc. Fruit juice, tea and coffee machines. Evening meal always had a soup, choice of fish and meat, along with selection of vegetables. a huge array of salad items and probably the best display of chilled deserts ive seen in most hotels. The only down side to the food was.. I never had any food that was actually hot, it all seemed just luke warm to me. The roof area was quiet and the pool not large, but adequate for a little dip. A bar was open on the roof if you required a drink. All in all, a great 5 days away at an unbeleivable price for what we got. SHould I return to Monte Gordo, I wouldnt hessitate to stay again.
