I had no idea that there were affordable places to stay in the Maldives, but then I found the Ci-Ritorno View, and I was in! I was originally only going to stay for a few days, but then I got COVID and had to quarantine at the hotel. Arif took fantastic care of me while I was there: by the end, he felt like family. I had to extend my flight anyway because of my quarantine, but I decided to stay a couple of extra weeks to really get to enjoy the country. The room was large, the bed was SUPER comfortable (and I'm a picky sleeper), the breakfast was nice, the hotel was only a three-minute walk to the beach, everything was walkable, and there were several restaurants and shops nearby. And the best part was that the low price of the hotel meant that I could afford extra snorkeling trips. I mean, if you have thousands of dollars to spend on a private bungalow, be my guest. But the only reason I was able to afford such a long time in the Maldives was because of the Ci-Ritorno View. I'm so grateful that an affordable hotel still exists, and I'm already trying to figure out when I can come back again.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! I deeply regret recounting a disheartening array of issues during our stay at the hotel: Upon arrival, our assigned room was not only in a state of severe disrepair but also shockingly unclean. Despite a room change, persistent problems like a leaking toilet and malfunctioning air conditioning plagued our experience. Maintenance interventions, notably during planned fishing excursions, only heightened our frustration. Things that were mentioned in the folder are not even true, plus they lied about the constitution that was going on above our room, they promised that it will stop in the weekend but never did. Plus what bothered me was that the towels are not fresh and hygiene is far far from the norm. Dinner, scheduled at 20:00, was hindered by our aversion to spicy Indian cuisine, and the sleeping conditions were marred by disruptive noise, slamming doors, and inconsiderate fellow guests. Efforts to engage with the director for resolution were met with disappointment, as our concerns remained unaddressed. Scheduled activities faced setbacks, with delays and cancellations affecting a half-day excursion and a fishing trip due to a broken engine and adverse weather conditions. The subsequent request for a payment totaling 610 USD seemed disproportionate, leading us to cut our stay short after the second day. The half-day trip to Gulhi Island, conducted on an aged and sluggish boat, offered unappealing surroundings with an unpleasant odor. Promised photographs and videos of our experience were not delivered, intensifying our disappointment. Hand-fishing proved unproductive and induced seasickness amid high waves. Despite these challenges, it's important to commend a responsive woman who earnestly sought to rectify our grievances. Additionally, Mr. K's consistent politeness and assistance, especially in facilitating our return from the hotel to the boat, were notable. Unfortunately, despite these positive interactions, our honeymoon experience concluded on an unsatisfactory note, leaving us profoundly disheartened and dissatisfied with the overall quality of our stay.

It was my husband’s birthday on 2nd of December and the whole F&B staff of Kaani Palm beach during breakfast helped me surprise my husband with a cake and celebrations and my husband was very happy because of such a sweet gesture. We would also like to appreciate Ms. Kadek from F&B in Kaani Palm beach, she’s extremely courteous and sweet and never stops smiling, she always has a pleasant smile throughout and takes care of her customers so well. Very down to earth lady, we wish her all the best for future endeavours. Keep up with your work Kadek! You are amazing!

Masala Street (inside White Shell Hotel): The entrance looks very fancy but when you step in, it's a kind of a let down where they have a plain room with tables and chairs put together. As this restaurant is attached to White Shell Island Hotel and Spa, their menu prices are all in USD, as is the case with all such other restaurants in Maafushi Island that are tied with a hotel. On the other hand, it seems that stand alone restaurants charge in MVR. A major negative is that they charge a 4% fee on the Bill of you pay by card, which doesn't apply if you pay by cash. The moment we told that we don't have USD and were about to walk out, the person said it's ok that we pay by card and he'll waive off the 4% fee. LOL! We had ordered Veg. Kadhai and Rotis (because their tandoor wasn't operational, so we couldn't have had naan) and were pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was very much like typical Indian taste. The rotis were phulka and served piping hot adding to the good experience. We would visit again, just for the taste.

I was fortunate to spend two nights at Summer Villa Guest House on Maafushi Island in the Maldives. The staff provided excellent service, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was delicious. They provide a wide range of activities, including water sports, swimming with sharks, snorkelling, and much more. The place is always full due to the excellent service they offer.I highly recommend this place to all my friends. Many thanks to Naseem and his family for their wonderful hospitality. The hotel has a great location in the middle of Maafushi’s centrum. But so many small things made the stay uncomfortable, especially the lack of information from the hotel’s part. I tried to book transfer ahead from Malé airport to The hotel on Maafushi island. Approximately 4 days before my arrival I got in touch with someone from Seven Hotels saying that it would be possible and which timings I would like. From there I never heard anything back. I tried to write them several mails, contacting them on Facebook and even calling them. No one never replied me back! When my final departure date for Maldives was about to start, I was a bit stressed as I didn’t have any transfer booked ahead from the airport! I like being organized when I travel and this was a very bad start of my short vacation. I landed in Malé airport 06:00 am. In the morning and I had to wait 4 hours in a crowded airport, meanwhile trying to figure out how to find transfer from there to the hotel! In the end I found a random small guy in a white shirt! Who finally was able to help me, but all this stress could have been avoided from the hotels site if it was arranged prior my arrival! When I arrived to Maafushi island a guy was picking me up at the port and I tried to explain my dissatisfaction. The staff barely spoke English - and I gave up. I then contacted Seven Corals via mail, and now I heard from them explaining their wifi connection was bad and therefore they couldn’t get in touch with me! But to be honest this isn’t any excuse! Then you should remove the service online if you aren’t able to help your customers! I booked a deluxe room, and was given another room at the ground floor as my other room wasn’t ready! My check in was at 12:00 pm. But they said it wouldn’t be ready before 15:00 pm! This is also very bad! No housekeeping was neither offered during my 4 days stay. I had to ask for toilet paper! The toilet lid was broken and there was a huge bump in the right side of the bed! I travel the whole world! And this experience wasn’t nice at all! I never write negative reviews! But with your hotel I have too! As it kind of destroyed my small vacation from the beginning. Especially the lack of responsibility as a hotel! The lack of information was so poor! We stayed at Rehendhi Villa for two nights in July. The booking process was easy and fast. We were happy to discover that they offered boat transfer from Male airport. The staff was amazing: they awaited us at the Maafushi port, transported our luggage and escorted us to the hotel. Our room was spacious and clean. The AC was working perfectly and the wifi was fast and free of charge. We didn't have time to use the pool (we spent most of the time snorkeling), but it looked clean and well-maintained. The food at the restaurant was diverse and very tasty. We would like to say special thanks to Mr Mohan: he was very welcoming and exceptionally friendly (he even made us some delicious Sri Lankan tea). We really enjoyed our stay at Rehendhi Villa and we hope to come back as soon as possible.
