Great location. Way overpriced but so is every other hotel in Madison. I stayed cheaper in Tokyo on my way here. They need to put out actual stainless steel utensils for the breakfast buffet instead of plastic. Would enhance the breakfast experience at least 30%.

Awesome hotel and great place to stay. Love the amenities and the free breakfast.

This was the most adorable hotel I've ever stayed in! The decor was that of a 1960's lake house with shades of vintage UW Madison thrown in. The beds were VERY comfy and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (in the restaurant, the coffee bar, and the front desk). It's right in the center of the length of State St. so you can walk to anything you want: the Capital, shops & restaurants, and campus. I will definitely be back. Even if the price is a bit of a splurge for you - you won't regret it! I do advise, though, that if staying on a weekend you will find more inexpensive parking 1/2 block away, rather than using their parking.

This may be the worst Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at. We booked a king room and we got a small bizarrely laid-out, dark dingy room towards the end of the hall. We felt so light deprived. It was quite depressing. The bathroom fan didn't work. There was a small broken refrigerator (door to the cabinet with the fridge was off the hinges), no microwave and a small coffee maker behind the bathroom door in a very small nook. You can only make coffee in the bathroom with the bathroom door closed. We looked into a few other rooms that house keeping was cleaning and the other rooms looked more normal in size and more well lit. After the fact we realized we should have complained immediately about our room. We went out to dinner one night came back and our room keys no longer worked (infact they would no work to even get into the hotel through the back entrance). It took 20 minutes for the hotel personnel to restore access to our rooms , no apology. When we checked out and told the staff about our experience, all they said was , ”have a nice day”. No apology or attempt to show sympathy. It really was the worse Hampton Inn we have ever experienced. We definitely felt like we did not get our money's worth. Plenty of other places to stay near by, next time we are in town to see our daughter we will fore sure find another place. Very dissatisfied!!!

We continue to stay at this property because everything they do is done well! It’s clean with friendly staff. The room is quiet in part due to quiet hours being enforced. The bed is comfy and the bedding superior to the hotels nearby. Breakfast is fine with a pleasant sitting area. Shuttle service is also available within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. The location works well for us and parking is a breeze.

Best location for staying in Madison. We had a view of the beautiful Capitol building. Easy access to the university, shops, restaurants and Saturday morning farmers' market. Hotel is very nice, clean, spacious rooms. Staff was very cordial and efficient. They also provided shuttle service to and from the airport which is very convenient. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Excellent stay. Room was spacious and well cleaned. All amenities that one would expect, as well as a choice of three options made cooked-to-order for hot breakfast in the morning. The location is a few miles away from central Madison, but it is located near the main roads leading there. All in all, a great option if in the Madison area.

I was skeptical about this hotel because it is much more reasonably priced than other hotels in the area. But it was great. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and kind staff. Shasta in particular was fabulous (she went above and beyond to get us the room type we needed and to deliver a roll-away). We loved the convenient location - we walked, bussed, and did Bcycle to the UW campus (all without needing to incur UW parking ramp costs).

New hotel with comfortable rooms and amenities. Excellent location with short walking distance to main attractions in town. Public areas are excellent with lots of spots for meetings including a small library on the second floor. Rooms on the 9th floor can get noisy towards the end of the night when the bar is closing.
