Well, I spent 5 nights in this accommodation and my impression is actually positive. + the accommodation is located in the renowned Salamanca district and everything looks tidy. A walk to Gran Via or Retiro Park: approx. 35 minutes The house is generally well maintained and there are a lot of entertainment options already on the ground floor - not least the roof with the pool (more an XXL bathtub, but with a nice atmosphere). There are also some vending machines on the ground floor where you can buy drinks (water 65 Cents) and sweets (M&Ms 1 Euro) at very moderate prices. The single rooms are actually quite nice, although not entirely new anymore. The room has - of course - a dormitory touch - but hey, that shouldn't come as a surprise when you book a RESA. The beds are a bit basic (looks like a folding bed) but the mattresses are good. The small kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave is very pleasant. Neutral: even if the accommodation is centrally located, it is between a few Metro stations and you always have to walk a bit. There are also a number of shops and cafes/restaurants in the area, but no supermarkets or drugstores (or I just didn't find them). What is perhaps also important: there are a lot of students living there, and although they are all very kind, if you are a little older - like me - you feel a bit strange. But hey, that can NOT be blamed on the accommodation if you book a student resistance first and then feel a bit "inappropriate". It's probably just me and I'm already just too old :-) And: as I booked I asked for a room on a higher floor, but was not given a definitive answer (like you get mostly in Hotels). I thought there might be an internal reservation system where such requests could be taken into account in advance - but no. In the end I got a room on a higher floor - but the process of requesting was a bit annoying. There were actually only a few things that were not so great: - The bathroom is tiny and the silicone is moldy, the old PVC floor has a 1980s charm and some things are slowly falling apart (like the desk base cabinet). And: there should be "Do not disturb" signs like in hotels, because it's a little annoying when the otherwise very nice cleaning lady knocks at 8:30 on two days. All in all, the accommodation is absolutely recommendable and I would give it 8 or 8,5 out of 10. Would I(!) book it again: maybe not, but the only reason would be that I don't fit here or to this concept. For all the others: GO FOR IT! PS: even breakfast is included!
